We were looking for some off road guidance, first the lady was very quick and not helpful. My husband tried again and she was a little better. She said they were closing, still not reason not to help. We ended up following our maps and had a great time off-roading!

Randomly spotted the signs for this place and decided to turn around and stop to see what it is all about and I’m glad we did. Friendly staff and tons of information about the area and history here. They even have a gift shop for stickers, magnets, patches, books and so on. Super unique and worth a stop if you have time and want to learn more.

DEFINITELY worth a quick stop.Really cool little visitor center with awesome dinosaur artifacts. The woman working there is a full time paleontologist. One of the coolest little roadside stops we've come across.

Stopped in to see if I could drive the unpaved road back into the hills behind the center. The people were nice and helpful. Several pictures posted that showed vehicles that dropped into ditches. So be careful.

Random Grand staircase-escalante visitor center in the side of the road, but they had us at dinosaurs. Unfortunately they are closed Tuesdays and Wednesday. Still a reasonable amount of signage and displays outside to make the kids happy for a quick stop.

I was delightfully surprised with this visitors center. Because they found some rare dinosaur bones close to the center there is very interesting displays about some of the dinosaurs they have found in the area and they compare them to dinosaurs in the same family found in other areas of the world. Facinating place.

While this place looked cool online, it turns out they are closed until mid-January so we didn’t get to go in when we stopped there just after Christmas. (A Thursday)The bathrooms were accessible though I must warn: VERY chilly! Not an issue for us but not optimal if you needed to change a diaper on a baby.

Great staff and things to see. Not a very large place but it is air-conditioned in the summer time and a great stop off between Arizona and Utah tractions. Something small children and older adults alike can enjoy.

We had a nice visit with the person at the desk, and she provided a lot of great ideas for places to stop on our continued drive towards Kanab. She also explained the grand staircase geology so we understood the what we were seeing for the next couple hundred miles. The exhibits were informative and we were glad we stopped to visit to see the big picture.

This is a very nice visitor center with a small but very interesting exhibit on the fossils found in the surrounding area and the dinosaurs they belong to. Certainly worth a stop and look. Also has clean bathrooms and park rangers educated in the local area and hiking trails. Finally the building is designed as a spiral which is just fun.

This place is a gem!! I drove over from Kanab in hopes of finding some Christmas gifts that would go towards supporting our local agencies that protect these surrounding areas. The gift shop is fantastic. A great assortment of gifts for everyone, plus some really fun dinosaur swag. The exhibits were well-curated and quite impressive. The best part for us, though, was the warm & welcoming staff. Liz and Paul (I believe) were so friendly and helpful. They're the kind of people that set a positive tone for the remainder of your day. We left stocked with Christmas presents and intent on returning here with all our future visitors. Definitely swing through this Visitor Center.

When I called the message said they were open but when we got there they were closed with this sign on the door. Would have been nice if they changed their message. Very disappointed.

What a GREAT experience! We just so happened to stumble into the Visitor Center on Fossil day and they had a great event going on that offered lots of different activities and information! The two paleontologists that were there talked about the fossils they've found nearby and have so much great information! It was fun for our dinosaur obsessed 4year old and also my husband and I! The displays inside are incredible and the gift shop has plenty of great finds! Definitely add this to your list If you're in the area!
