Definitely worth the drive!! Family friendly!! Very kind people that welcome you with open arms! Best buffet for "comfort food" and Friday night seafood, and frog legs. Salad bar, with butter soaked corn on the cob, fried catfish, shrimp, chicken, baked potato etc! Peach, and chocolate cobbler with ice cream, always rounds out dessert.Parking: Depends on the time that you arrive.. Might have walk down the block!Kid-friendliness: Kids are always happy and running around! It's a family atmosphere for sure!!

The Windom Feed Sack is an excellent dining choice for your trek through scenic and nostalgic Northeast Texas. We’ve found that folks from all over the area come here regularly to enjoy a delicious family meal “just like grandma used to make”, as we’ve remarked. The food is old-fashioned, home-cooking; delicious and on-point. The menu is well-appointed with bbq ribs, fried catfish, chicken-fried steak, peel-and-eat shrimp, and much more. Your favorite side dishes are waiting right on the line for you.The dessert offerings include delectable soft-serve ice cream, peach or mixed-berry cobbler, a variety of cookies, and on and on.Antiques and memories decorate the newly-renovated interior of this well-aged town square building that pays respect to its history. The building itself sits catty-corner across the street from the historical municipal bank building, which is also of interest to see.It is important to note that this wonderful gem of a restaurant was clean, sanitary, and food-safe. These folks obviously take pride in their establishment. Finally, the owners and employees were so incredibly friendly to us! It absolutely felt as if we stepped into our own “Town of Mayberry”, and everyone was a friend. We will be back through, even if only to stop here again. Thank you, Windom Feed Sack!

The food was very disappointing on Thanksgiving. Dressing had absolutely no flavor, mashed potatoes were watery, gravy was nothing but eggs, and very watery. It was extremely overpriced for what was served. Not to mention, we made reservations for noon, so we would have a table and had to find a place large enough for our party of 10 and slide tables together ourselves.

This place will catch your eye when you first walk in. The time they have put into decor and atmosphere is really amazing. A town like Windom is the only kind of town you where can find a restaurant like this. A small town, a really small town. It is worth stopping. The food variety is really good. The food temperature is really good. The desert I had was homemade. I had lunch on a Wednesday and paid $11. That is cheap for a buffet now days. That includes main courses, salad bar, drinks and desert. Everything is included. All you have to do is show up, pay at the door before you eat (it's as you come in on your right) and eat. There are two bad reviews that I seen. I wholly disagree. If you can recommend Jason's Deli over The Feed Sack, you probably should have never stopped in the first place. Just saying.

Great local dining experience with modest but wholesome buffet choices. All you can eat or drink, including both a salad and a dessert bar which includes soft serve ice cream. Vegetable choices were limited to corn on the cob or baked potatoes the day I visited with several meat and fish dishes and rolls or corn muffins. Very good home-style cooking.

Went for the Saturday night fish fry. They had catfish (both Cajun and regular), shrimp, fish and ribs. I love their homemade onion rings. Meal includes drinks and dessert.

Really good small-town restaurant serving American food buffet style. Staff was super friendly. Food was great. Restaurant and bathrooms are clean and in good repair. Restaurant is on the main Street in the little town of Windom. The scenery and the drive are very much worth a day trip. Highly recommend.

This is an old building in a very small town with a great buffet restaurant in it. Small town atmosphere with friendly people and employees. Family run and owned. Great food. Excellent destination place. Many motorcyclists ride as their destination. Actually a lot of people drive distances to come here. Open certain days at the end of the week so you may want to call ahead. Fun decorations and great atmosphere. Very busy place but can handle a lot of people. Very little else in the town proper. Great little park across the street.Plenty of parking.

Went today for Sunday Buffet.I live in Sherman and my niece just moved to Bonham. What a charming, friendly down home gem.Crowd was an assortment of young parents with their toddlers, county Judge and every local down to earth kind, polite happy locals. I must of said hello to every table as I passed by.I felt like I was a young boy in my Grandparents kitchen.Buffet was excellent, simple fresh southern favorites. Chicken fried steak was better than my Grandma.Warm fruit cobbler served by young lady was like asking a family member to fill my bowl up and top it with soft serve.God bless these people who haven't forgotten that a smile and great attitude goes a long way.Plan on trying the week day buffets soon.To all the employees I tip my hat and praise your down home , welcoming hospitality.

This is a hidden gem. The service and atmosphere were great. The food was phenomenal. The woman at the front on January 22nd 23' was the sweetest thing. We came in for dinner and she was so helpful and friendly. We miss living in tiny towns like this because these places offer such kind and caring people. It's like being home. Sorry we had to go back home, reality called us. Thank you for the great experience, we will be back anytime headed that way.

The main attraction for the Windom feed sack is the fish shrimp and frog legs Friday and Saturday nights unfortunately the last few times I've eaten hear the fish has gotten thinner and so salty I can't eat it.. for the shrimp it looks and taste like something out of a TV dinner... but the frog legs are still pretty good as they have been for years... so yes the fish and shrimp were a let down but I'll say the frog legs and chicken wings were a hit with a big salad 🥗

After hearing about and reading reviews, we went. Great staff and vibe! Place was packed on Saturday late afternoon but plenty of places to eat and sit. Buffet style and plenty of everything. I'm from the Gulf coast and know good seafood. This was disappointing in the sameness of all different flavors. Fish, shrimp, frog legs... little difference in flavor. Corn and hush puppies were awesome but we went for the seafood. We won't go back and not really worth the money. Bummer...
