Excellent local diner, too bad it's a bit off the beaten path. The Philly Cheese Steak was probably the best I've ever had! Hubby had the hamburger, which was ALL beef! We both got the hand dipped onion rings & they were exceptional! Really good! Brandy, our server was a real sweetheart. Prices are good. Highly recommend!👍👍👍

Excellent!!! Our first time ... on the way home from Wellington to Borger. Food was DELICIOUS and servings equal to price. Check out the pics. We had Chicken Fried Steak with cream gravy, sauteed green beans, onion rings ($1 extra) / Chili Rellenos, beans, rice, tortilla chips ... iced tea & water.

Small town USA again. Wheeler, TX! If you find yourself in Wheeler, go by Mel's Diner on the west side of town. Mel's step daughter told me they have been there for 25 years! Homemade is the word! Very clean; even the kitchen was clean from the view I had (not the case in most places) Very nice waitress (she continually asked if I was doing ok). Those onion rings are hand dipped! Great sweet tea (very important). Homemade strawberry pie! I'm pretty sure that crust is handmade. I got here at 11a and it's a good thing I did because it filled up fast. I had a 100% excellent experience here. Yall need to come eat!

Stoped past in route to USAFA. Excellent service! My glass never went dry. That is an accomplishment! Very attentive waitress. Excellent fried cheese curds. Good Mexican good with generous servings.

Delicious breakfast (I had chorizo breakfast burrito and husband had a sausage omelet), great service, clean, and cute atmosphere! I asked the local man sitting near us what's good and he said, "Everything on the menu, ma'am!" Based on our food, I bet he is right!

Food was pretty good but the wait was far too long. It was busy but even so waiting over an hour for food isn't good. Our server also knocked over a drink on our table and all he did was threw down 1 napkin at it and left us to sort it out!

It's your typical Texas southern hospitality environment. Would definitely recommend stopping in for a bite if you're in the area or passing thru to the larger cities in the Texas panhandle.

We ordered 3 different items and everything was great. The order came with some stuff on my sandwich that I asked to leave off, but no big deal, I just took it off myself. The fried pickles were the best we’ve ever had and the sub style bread they used on the sandwiches was incredible. We finally just went up to the counter to pay after not receiving our check after 5-10 minutes of finishing our meal. Food was excellent, service could use a little attention.

We stopped in on our way home for a quick bite to eat and the food was amazing! Freshly cooked and made from scratch.We need a Mel's Diner in Llano!! They would definitely put everyone out of business.My husband and I have already discussed making the 6 hour drive to eat here again.

It was a Sunday and In Wheeler it was a HUGE crowd. Our order was lost, may have waited a bit longer than normal BUT THEY took care of us. We LOVE THIS PLACE!! Good prices, amazing staff and locally owned. BTW the salsa is the BEST IN TOWN.Kid-friendliness: I LOVE HOW THE LOVE ON THE YOUNG PEOPLE

Everything that you would expect from a small town diner. Sometimes that means waiting for the food, but that wasn't the case for me. The food was served quickly and was delicious. The waitress was friendly. Parking is a bit limited though.

Stopped in today for some lunch while on a motorcycle trip. Definitely the best lunch we’ve had so far, it was homemade and fresh, and the food was so good we ordered seconds. The service was great and the servers were so friendly! Awesome little town, and if we travel through again, this will definitely be the first place we go. Definitely recommend!

Got there the same time as the church crowd and it was busier than a pizza shop next to a weed store. The Triple Decker sandwich was massive and good. The curly fries are like I’ve never seen before and not what you would expect but still good.

Absolutely love this place! I stop here every time we go to see my girlfriends parents, and I'm always so happy after I leave. There Phillie sandwiches are amazing!!Parking: Large lot for cars, and overflow spaces across the street
