The service was great. Brought my 2 dogs in separately. I am amazed at the tight schedule that they run. And honestly when I picked up my Chow Chow Louis V and he was chilling with the employees I was so happy!!!

Marissa was so patient and sweet with my dog Onyx. She helped buff my dog’s nails and despite it being a busy morning, Marissa was very kind to take the time necessary for my dog! I know how hard that can be! Thank you so much for helping my girl out today 😃

Ashley groomed my 6 year old golden and it is quite possibly the BEST groom she’s ever had! Ahw is a therapy dog who works in a local hospital and is groomed monthly.Ashley conversed with me for a while before I left my pup, to make sure we were on the same page. I highly recommend Ashley and the team at Pet Bar in Oak Forest!

I will not ever be returning. Went in for a self bath. The place was empty on the self wash side and yet I get placed at the station without a proper spray attachment. Instead I got a foot long rigid hose attachment with a twist on twist off valve at the bottom of the handle. It was so long I couldn’t even get it underneath and turn it upright to spray my dog’s belly. I was by myself washing, so instead of a proper spray attachment that I could hold in one hand while massaging soap with the other, I had to use both to turn it on and off, set it down go back to dog, repeat, repeat, repeat. Every other tub I looked at in the empty room had a proper spray attachment. Little did I know this would be the better part of my experience. I was provided two towels as promised, which were placed between my stall and the next one over so that I didn’t see their condition until I grabbed one. The first one was stained all over and COVERED in loose dog hair so that the more I tried to dry my non shedding black dog, the more his coat became filthy with other fur. BUT THEN I grabbed the second towel. Please see pictures. Absolutely disgusting- various clumps of various dog hair literally burrowed in clumps onto the terry cloth. As another reviewer stated, I too try and support local businesses, but I will never subject my dog or myself to that place again.

I picked up my poodle today and couldn’t be more disappointed. He has not been able to open is left eye since coming home. They clearly rushed through his haircut and shaved him completely. He must have gotten cut on his eye and he’s been hiding under the bed and sad since coming home. He was also cut on his ear. On top of a bad hair cut no care was given to my dog. My husband called and complained and the customer service was horrendous. No apology or attempt to make it right. Instead a young pompous employee with more attitude than know-how. It’s so sad to see how establishments treat customers now. I’m most upset that my dog is in pain than I am his botched groom job. I hope this review saves your dog from the treatment they receive at The Pet Bar.

I was a regular at this location. I normally call to make sure they aren't busy cause I have two dogs and want to use the cage on the self wash side for one while I wash the other. So I did what I always did and called beforehand because i was coming in on my lunch break. I was told that they weren't busy and I am able to bring my dogs and for the self wash. Lady said okay see you then. The moment I get there walk in she told me I wouldnt be able to wash my dogs in the self wash section because she need the space because she had 4 dogs coming in and needed the space. Mind you I only live 6 min away and so it didn't take me very long to get there. So my thing is if I am a paying customer who called ahead of time and got the go head. Why should I be the one turned a way when the dogs that were coming in wasn't even there. I had 1 full hour before they got there. I WONT BE COMING BACK!

I have a skiddish rescue Yorkie that seems to have never had regular grooming before me. Lauren has done amazing work with her! She is patient and kind in taking her time to slowly work up my fur baby to become comfortable with the full grooming process over time.

Dog was injured while getting shaved here. He wouldnt open his left eye for 2 days had to visit the vet, nicked his ear and butt area. He hid under the bed and had a dropped tail for 48hrs. Days later he is fine but I was very worried about my animal after this cut.

What a great experience! The staff were very nice and helpful. They explained everything. The stalls were clean and provided all the necessities, including different style brushes to actually groom my dog. Jake (the dog) was a bit nervous at first but settled in once he realized we were staying and caring for him ourselves. He even put up with the blow dryer! He has very high anxiety and can't tolerate being left with a groomer.This is so much better than doing it at home. Worth every cent, and too not expensive. We will be back!!

Disclaimer: I have a toy poodle who had matted back hair. I didnt know what was salvageable but asked to try and keep it as long as you can. I gave direction for the cut on head and feet.I dropped my dog at the PetBar at 9am and we received a call in less than an hour that he was ready. I thought that was really fast. To no surprise they took the easy road and shaved the entire dog including his feet poms and tail pom. I got a rat back. I have owned poodles my whole life and any time they get matted I know they have to get shaved in those areas, BUT any groomer I have used in the past has tried to keep as much as possible to make the dog look styled and cute. Not at the ProfitBar if the dog is matted, shave them and get them out the door. Not to mention my dog will not open his left eye, they must cut it or irritated it, might have to visit the vet next.When I called and talked to the manager about being unsatisfied and said that $80 seems like a lot for a shave job with no style at all. If they had said sorry we couldnt salvage his cut and it was $50. I would have been sad but understood and thought that was fair. Instead, I got a flippant young person that has no customer service or management experience. He has no idea how to soothe an unpleased customer and make it right again. I gave him the opportunity. I asked how he could make it right even suggested a coupon or free service. He had no interest or consideration. Not only did he not want to, he wanted to fight, argue and insult me by calling me a bad pet owner. Which is laughable. I am reasonable and wanted to find a resolve. I am most upset with how this manager treated a customer. These impolite entitled new age workers think they can treat people however they want and not have to act professional. Everyone has to deal with crap from customers and smile and make it right and be humble. I gave crap today and it was thrown back in my face. I wont be back and I recommend going elsewhere, there are lots of choices out there.

I had never been to PetBar before today but when this Oak Forest location opened I knew it would be a useful service for me when I have a foster dog that’s too big for the kitchen sink and it’s too cold outside for a bath. Today was that day! Clean facility and sweet employees; they supply everything you need down to the towels. The do offer hair dryers and a personal “blow dry” area however I didn’t particularly need this with my short haired pup today. To me, the $18ish price for a self service bath was well worth the convenience and I did not need an appointment, I just randomly walked in. All in all, two paws up! 🐾🐾

I’ve recently moved to Houston for the summer and my girl, Willow, was in need of a haircut and bath. We booked her with Omar and I can’t tell you enough how glad I am that we did! Willow loves all people but when it comes to grooming is a very stubborn and anxious girl and yet he was so patient with her. He’s very communicative with me as well by asking what haircut I would like and giving me updates about her along the way! She looks amazing too!! I’ve had some bad grooming experiences in the past with unfamiliar groomers telling me I would need to sedate her due to her anxieties or they just ended up giving her an awful cut, so I was a little nervous about this one. But we could not have had better customer service and care here! Thank you Omar! 🐾

Poor communication! I've taken my dog here several times and just now heard for the first time that they have difficult times washing him. That my dog has to get muzzled! Why wasn't this shared every single time we pick up and ask "How did it go?" I go out of my way to drive to this location because I thought the service was good but apparently they've been holding back information. NOT A GOOD WAY TO DO BUSINESS! What a coincidence they said something on the day before Thanksgiving! Probably just trying to leave work early.

We have had 2 great experiences here. In addition to the excellent work I appreciate the reasonable turnaround time (2 hrs or less so far for an xl dog plus add ons) . Some other places have kept my dog 5-6 hours for a standard groom.

I just picked up my shaggy and energetic 7 month old sheepadoodle from his grooming appointment and he looks great! I was very impressed with Omar - This was my dog’s first full groom and Omar was patient, informative, and friendly with both me and my pup. I will definitely be back!

First time today and won’t be my last. The young lady at the front was helpful and very sweet. She even help me place my fur baby(70lbs) on the scale because he was scared. Blu(fur baby) did enjoy his bath and did excellent with drying. Highly recommend!

Increasingly disappointing . It seems the longer the Petbar in GOOF is open the worse it gets. The last two times I went the soap was not dispensing properly, there wasn’t any cotton balls for ear cleaning, there was fur everywhere (including in the drain of the tub I was using) and it was just dirty. Today they didn’t have any clean towels, although I did notice the dirty towel bin was over flowing. I have an elderly dog, so I prefer to bathe her myself and I typically like to support local businesses, but I guess I will need to find another place to take my business

I really like this place. I have an 85-pound Giant Schnoodle who has a lot of hair. Our dog is very mannered, but it is a real big job to bath her and dry her at home. We have the monthly membership and this place does an awesome job of bathing, drying, and brushing our dog. She looks awesome, and I think a wash a month for the price charged is a real bargain. We also get her groomed here once every six weeks. They do a great job. I would give them 6 stars if available. I highly recommend this Pet bar location.

Omar is fantastic. First time going there with my two large senior dogs, one of which is blind. He took phenomenal care of them, even kept them together during grooming because he could tell they were stressed when apart. The grooming and cut (for two large doodles) was impeccable. Good pricing for doodles as well! Thanks for the care you gave Omar.

We just took our 11 year old boxer with three legs here for the first time today (8/11/23). We scheduled her for just a simple bath and nail clipping, which according to their website is a 30 minute service. We did NOT want to leave her since she is old and is not used to being around other dogs. However, when my husband got there for the first appointment of the day (so should not already be behind schedule), he was told he had to leave her and it would be 1.5 hours! When he went to pick her up she was in a small fenced in area right next to other big dogs that could have easily jumped over the fence to get to her. They were barking and jumping up at her and she was clearly frightened. This would not have been an issue had it only taken the 30 minutes it should have and my husband could have been there to take her immediately. She is too old to have to go through that. Lastly, Lola is shedding hair really bad and her one back paw is incredibly red and irritated. We had specifically asked that they be extra gentle with her feet.

Did self service for the first time and the staff really helped me out to ensure it was a success. My golden struggled with the concept of having a bath outside of home but they make it really simple and easy. I will use them in the future and I recommend giving it a shot. I haven’t tried their other services but will later on.

DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. I took my dog here today (6/20/23) for a nail clip and hair trim. When I first arrived, the groomer asked me what type of cut I would like on my dog, asking if I would like an “all around trim”. I replied “yes, but do not shave his back or cut it”. I then proceeded to show him, visually using my hands and stroking my dog’s back, where specifically I would not like any cutting to occur. After being quoted a 3 to 4 hour wait time, they finally called me to pick up my dog after five hours. When I arrived, they asked for payment before they brought him. When I saw him, to my absolute shock, they had trimmed his entire back. Before I could even comment on the trimming that had occurred on his back, the groomer told me that he trimmed his back despite our conversation this morning, and wanted to know if I was OK with it. I immediately told him that I was deeply upset, and that it went in complete contrast to what we had discussed. He directed me to his manager, and when I shared the situation with his manager, his manager responded saying that I was the one who had miscommunicated the request. The groomer was sitting next to the manager at the counter, so I asked him to share his side of what happened, and we were in alignment, that, despite the fact we talked about not trimming his back, his back had been trimmed about an eighth of an inch. The manager would not offer a partial or full refund because he said he believed I had requested an “all around trim”, despite not having been present for the conversation earlier that morning, and his groomer agreeing the cut was not what was agreed upon (his groomer was the one who immediately pointed out the incorrect cut to me!!). I was in complete shock and will not only be reporting this to my credit card company, but filing a claim with better business bureau.This may have been a one off occurrence, but there are too many good groomers in the Houston area to risk it at this location. If you insist on going here, SEE YOUR DOG BEFORE PAYING.

Petbar Boutique is amazing! Our Mal-Shi, Trixie, is a rescue that was abused. When we got her 5 years ago she had healing broken bones and more serious abuse issues. Her past makes her more nervous and skittish with new people. She can be difficult to groom. The first thing, Omar, our groomer did when I handed her off was get close to the ground and hum to her telling her she was safe and they were going to have a good time. They must have. When I got back early, I sat in my car and watched. Omar was walking around with Trixie in his arms petting her. She was calm and happy. They did a beautiful job on her hair cut. It was exactly what I asked for. I have never had her nails so smooth when they have been trimmed. I would give Petbar 10 stars if it would let me. Thank you Petbar and Thank you, Omar!
