Excellent service and care!! Took my 12 year old Schnauzer in after continuously vomiting large amounts of bile, shivers, fever and no appetite for three days with no signs of improvement or hope until they (even on a Sunday!) provided him the tests and medications he needed along with procedures to nurse him back to health. Needless to say he is pretty much back to normal! Will definitely be coming back for future check-ups!

My 4 month old corgi was sick she didn’t want to eat and was burping and spitting up clear I took her in and they said PARVO before they even tested her -no diarrhea at all.Then after they tested her they said Parvo, confirmed. I didn’t see the test. They sent us home with our hearts in our hands and 8 meds. Even though she wasn’t willing to eat or drink on her own I was supposed to force it down her throat. So I did with their recommendation of Pedalyte and wet food and all 8 meds. Not only did she not get better but she got worse became immobile within 2 days and expired with a last heave for breathe. This happen on January 8th. I’m so completely destroyed. I don’t have any words just extreme pain. It was a short but very fulfilling 4 months. I pray for the Dr and the staff that sent me home with my baby to die. I’m so upset 😭 I see it allllll over TikTok vets and the clinics that have return care daily for 5 days to administer IV Fluid, and I cry out why weren’t we good enough for this help. No follow up phone calls to check up on her. God help those who come to this clinic hoping for healing hands only to find the gates of hell and Dr. Death.

I left my cat Milo in boarding for 9 days as I was out of town traveling. He had the best time and got so much love from the staff. I was sent many pictures updating me on how he was doing. Upon returning from travel and picking him up, I came to find a fresh and clean kitty because he also got a bath! The soap they used smelled so good for weeks! The staff here is extremely kind and very professional.Ive also brought him here when he randomly developed a cough and I could not pinpoint the cause. They had asked about other symptoms he was showing and then asked if I had scent defusers around my home. I said I had several and they explained that these are most likely the cause and to remove them. They prescribed milo with meds and after removing the scent diffusers and giving him his meds, his cough was gone! I’m so glad I can trust BAH with my fur babies.

I didn't like this place 1 bit, I took my baby here because she's In need of emergency care. I called them at 8 a.m. they told me she could be seen if I can make it there within 30 minutes. I rushed over there from Donna made it within 15 minutes and ended up having to wait 3 1/2 hrs to be seen. Then for care they ran a bunch of different exams (which they did confirm with me first if I was ok with each one) I did decline some labs I felt were pointless but out of all the tests they ran and money they charged me I ended up walking out with the same exact answers I had when I first walked in NO CLUE WHAT'S WRONG...

The hardest thing we ever had to do was to have our German Shepherd named Yadi euthanized. We felt the warmth and compassion from the staff as if we were not the only ones going through this. The staff was lined up and all of them petted Yadi as he walked by. The assistant and Doctor explained everything in detail And we were given all the time we needed to say goodbye. They even gave us card with his paw and nose print with everyone’s condolences. We couldn’t have picked a more special place to put “Our Yadi” to rest.

Unprofessional staff. I have a large dog who is well trained and well behaved, vet tech came in and was trying to forcefully move my dog and handled him roughly by default. Did not ask me to move the dog, did not try to calmly move him, he tried to "assert" himself over my dog. When my dog started reacting to being treated roughly, he was quick to say we need to muzzle him.Doctor came in, I held the dog and controlled him so he could get examined. He behaved perfectly. The entire time, Mr. Idiot keeps trying to get between me and the dog so he can "control" him.People scared of dogs should work at an animal hospital.UPDATE: spent 3 hours there waiting for them to tell me they don't have the medication and to take him to Pet Doctor...

Really love their compassion! We had to put our dog down & that was easily the hardest day of our lives so far, but they made it a lot easier. They have also been helpful in assisting me return animals to their owners by scanning microchips. We will continue to use them to care for our animals.

Took in my cat, Diana, last night as a emergency. They did great with her. She behaved really well with her vets and was very curious. They were very fast & very respectful. They were very patient with her and I loved that. Will definitely be coming back. I didn’t get her vets name, the one who assured us. Very tall, slim, very soft spoken too. Thank you for helping us out.

I just came by on a Sunday at 7am. Staff was very nice. My cat Gizmo has a lump on his jaw and lethargic, they gave him antibiotics and he is ready to go. Thank you very much for the fast and caring service. We'll be coming back 🙏🏻

This place is amazing!! I took my pet in today on sick mode and the staff is amazing from A to z they explain everything. They do not force or push any test or treatment on you. This will be my pets place from vet,boarding to grooming. Thanks for the awesome service that you provided on a saturday!!

I had an excellent experience with all the staff at Border Animal Hospital!! I took my cat in for an operation and everyone was very welcoming and helpful. Dr. Vindell did an amazing job at explaining the procedure thoroughly and ensuring I left the office with every one of my questions answered. I could tell everyone was trying to make my cat feel as comfortable as possible the night before his procedure, and I felt safe knowing he was in their care overnight. I am very grateful to all of the staff for their care during this stressful time, and I would definitely recommend their services!

The hospital was modern, clean, and had a roomy lobby for patients to wait. The staff was great and took us in on a Sunday without an appointment, so that was wonderful. First time here, but might consider switching from our regular vet.

Took my mini schnauzers for their first time grooming there. They looked amazing when i picked them up. Otto my giant schnauzer looked awesome. Cant say enough about the great job they did on all 3. Now all my pups go there.

I had an urgent emergency with my 5 month old puppy. She had an ugly allergic reaction and her whole face was sadly swelling up. I rushed her to Border Animal Hospital, which is 30 minutes away from my location, and they took her in right away. They gave her fluids and a steroid shot. The doctor was very sweet to my baby girl Kora. First picture was before I took her and the second picture is the following morning after her visit. Highly recommend!!

I would give a lower review if I could. Absolutely the worst place to take an animal. Their prices are ridiculous everything requires separate consults for you to have to go back and pay more. If you they give you a date be prepared to have them change it on you. It took 2 months for me to get my animal neutered. I will follow my bad reviews of this place across all public review platforms to ensure no one else goes thru the same nonsense that i did. Use Rio Rico Vet Services. They are professional and don't try to scam you the way this place does.

This place only gets 1 star because of the constant issues we experienced. The actual grooming service was good, but nothing else about the organization. Mixed up appointments (vet and grooming), dog harness and collar (along with all tags) sent home with another animal, lack of concern by personnel over the harness loss, no reimbursement for the harness we had to buy, office manager unconcerned to retain our business, long waits for scheduled vet appointments, the list could go on. Will not return or recommend. Good luck finding another vet or grooming service.

My dog was unable to use any of her extremities and would collapse when she would try to stand up. When I came in to the clinic, they sent out a vet tech to look at my pup, he recommended I wait because he didn’t think it was anything severe. So I waited..and waited, and waited. 2 hours later they call me into a room, and again I waited and waited. Finally 4 hours later the Vet comes in and and starts wanting to run so many tests on my baby, which was fine because we had no idea what was wrong with her. My pup is one year old and her symptoms had me worrying like crazy. They take her to the back and bring her to me 10 min later, and another vet tech comes in 5 min later stating they have the results are in but they’re waiting on the vet to read them. For the next 2 hours no one came to update us on what was going on. We had to ask the poor receptionist when they were gonna read us the results. Someone finally comes in and tells us what’s going on, vet is still not available to read us the results. 2 hours pass again and finally the vet finds time to see us. AFTER 8 HOURS. All the results came back negative. Of course I’m freaking out cause my baby cannot walk and is so weak. The vet does tell us that my baby is severely dehydrated and her bladder is concentrated. They didn’t put an IV or DO ANYTHING. the vet kept making jokes about it being a mystery. WHICH ABSOLUTELY BROKE MY HEART. I end up telling them I’ll take her to a neurologist and that I don’t want them to charge me for any drugs. And guess what they still put drugs on my tab. SMH. Drugs for vomiting and nausea. My bill was SO expensive for everything to come out inconclusive and for the vet to make jokes about not knowing what my baby had. My dog is like my baby and I just wanted answers do help her feel better. I did more for her when I got home than they did in the 8 hours I was there.

If i could rate 6 stars i would, Highly highly recommend this pet hospital for both emergencies and not emergency services took my 5 year old mastiff who was lethargic and couldn’t get up with his back legs we were immediately greeted with the front desk and signed up into their system moment’s later the ER tech came outside with a gurney to help us move him inside once inside he was treated as the number one priority and was throughly and properly checked through and through at no moment did we feel we were being over charged on the contrary we were given different budget options with the most vital procedures to the extra recommended ones, DR. Lee is an absolute extraordinary professional and you can truly see she cares for each pet as much as the family owner does , she was extremely through about every single procedure and medication that was needed she explained everything when it came down to the diagnosis with every question we had being answered she left no doubt in our mind about our dear Mauricio and all the staff especially the ER tech was extremely knowledgeable about everything that was going on with our pup and answered all our questions leaving us with extreme peace of mind when we took him back home. Thank you to Dr. Lee and all the Er techs that helped us with our pup 100% sure that this will be our new general practitioner and emergency vet for now and all our future needs.

I wish I could give 0 stars the female Dr seeing her has 0 patience sent my dog out where other nurses are to speak with me inside the room couldn’t pull me out instead because she was barking saying she didn’t have time. Pushing X-rays down my throat after she got some with her primary car vet that was not open for walk ins and the Dr was too scared to get near her or even try and attempt to get to know her first. I’m complete Disgusted by this place she is a vet for god sake do the job I came for ultrasound and blood work and possible pain meds. Obviously the Dr did not want to do anything without sedating her to do X-rays as well. I left with pain meds, but will never ever come back. If you care about your fur babies you will keep them far away from this place. Mind you the Dr even said she didn’t see anything wrong with the X-rays and could be neck or back pain for playing rough, but wanted to get more because they have “someone” that can see even the smallest detail. NEVER AGAIN!!!

This place is awesome! I have left my dogs here for up to a week. Leaving your fur kids behind is hard but the staff was great. They kept us up to date and made me feel they were in good hands. When you walk in it smells clean and everyone is friendly.

Brought my dog to Border Animal Hospital and they did nothing to actually help the problem. Just did unnecessary test,which cost a lot. Took her to Rio Rico's Vet in Mercedes, where they immediately took some blood work and found out the problem. If I could give Border Animal Hospital zero stars, I would.

Do not recommend this facility, Do NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY EVEN IN A DESPERATE MONENT. they have terrible customer service. The new owners have not upheld this facility the way it used to be run. Long wait time, no help from staff, over priced visits. If you want to wait hours for an appointment and you hope for a negative experience then you found your spot.

Very unresponsive for refilling my dogs prescription, that the doctor said he needed to be taking for life. Every time he needs a refill (approximately every 2 weeks because they never have enough to fill the prescription for a month) they place me on hold for a long time then when they answer they tell me they're going to call me back after they get the vets authorization. The call never comes so I call again and it's the same story. They will call you when it's ready. I've also tried to speak to a manager, supervisor or the vet and that's impossible.

I drove from Harlingen seeking medical attention for my dog and was denied service. I had called and was told the weekend is designed for emergency visits and my dog could be seen anytime from 7 am to 7 pm as a walk in. We arrived at 5:45 pm and was told that he could not be seen bc they stop taking walk ins at 5:30. The website hours clearly state open from 7 am to 7 pm. No where on the website does it mention, last walk in is at 5:30. If that’s the case then it should be noted on the website.

Called to ask about a simple price on fixing a female cat. Was given the information that we have to pay for a Consultation fee just to give me a price on the procedure. This needs to be the biggest price grab known to man. This is the biggest issue with why people aren't responsible and get this done and the shelters are packed with animals. All I have to say is do better not everything has to be money this and money that.

I took my dog Scooby to Border Animal Hospital because I could tell something was wrong with his eye. I had noticed the problem the night before, and they were so nice and squeezed us in first thing in the morning. Everyone was very kind and I was happy to leave with answers and medicine for my boy. Scooby has a regular Vet back home and I have been taking him back for his yearly vaccinations and teeth cleaning, but I am so glad to find a local Vet here in Texas that I feel like I can trust with Scooby.
