It's been a couple of years now, but I was just asked for recommendations for a vet, and any vet that should be avoided in the Weatherford area. Unfortunately, I'd have to put Grote Veterinary Clinic in the latter category.We took our aged dachshund in to have her put down. They literally fumbled around IN FRONT OF US for almost an hour trying to find a vein in order to inject into.It seems like everybody except the receptionist tried and failed, all the time our sweet little girl was looking at us with such sad eyes and obviously in horrible pain.Ultimately, they suggested that we go sit in the car and wait for them to bring her out. We waited another 30 or 45 minutes and finally they brought her body to us. I have no idea what they subjected her to during that additional time.The whole ordeal was the most horrible excuse for professional veterinary services I have ever experienced. They still charged us the full fee, but did "give" us a small box that contained a hardened paw print (which we really didn't want after that experience).I love to be able to give glowing reviews, but also, I feel it necessary to warn others when such a horrible experience needs to be shared.

It's so hard to find a good vet these days. I have had horrible experiences at other vets before with my animals. Grote restored my faith. Staff is always friendly, their prices are very fair, they're surgery staff is amazing. Between my animals, my mama's and my boyfriend's, we have all used Grote for a while now and have been in multiple times for various needs, and every time we have left happy and impressed by them. It's scary to put your trust into a new vet, but I no longer worry any time I step into Grote's office. You can tell they are truly passionate and loving with animals and it's not just about the money and profit. Thank you for taking care of all of our babies as you would your own.

The staff is always super friendly!! I have gone to this vet for years and have never had a problem! Vets actually take time to discuss all issues and give good advice to correct the problems. The willingness to discuss in depth how to help my animals is always appreciated!!

Dr. Soloman is absolutely fantastic to work with! Thank you for always making us feel "seen" during our appointments, regardless of the outside chaos that may be going on. I always appreciate how the vets take time with the patients, and don't make you feel rushed.

Please for the love of god don’t bring your pregnant cats here. “50 years in the business” is a lie. These people are getting paid because they’re supposed to know what they’re doing but they don’t. My pregnant cat is at risk of losing all her babies and possibly her life because these people are guessing and telling me they’re not sure and that they’re guessing. This is the worst clinic in Weatherford. Please for your cats sake don’t bring them here. I’d never come here again.

Thank the good Lord up above for Grote Veterinary Clinic! We were in town for a wedding and our heeler broke his toenail almost off with part of the nail bed exposed. We could tell he was in pain and decided it was best to find a clinic to get the rest of the toenail cut off and see if there was anything further we could do to ease some of the pain. We found Grote on Google and read some of the reviews and needless to say if we are ever in need of a vet while in weatherford again, we will 100% be back! They got our boy fixed up and sent us on our way with some pain medication and antibiotics. The staff was extremely friendly and we could tell they cared about our boy even if we weren’t local. Dr. Solomon was great along with everyone else we encountered! Front desk staff, vet techs, even the other dog parents…. Everyone was wonderful and we are so thankful they were able to get our boy in! Thank you Grote Veterinary Clinic!

DO NOT bring your pregnant cat here. These people are meant to have experience. This establishment is a freaking joke. This is the worst vet in Weatherford and I would never come here again not even if it was my last option. Horrible staff doesn’t know what they’re talking about and it’s like they haven’t stepped a day in medical school. “I guess we can try this” “I think we can maybe do this”. What type of answer is that when YOU ARE THE PROFESSIONAL!!!

I would give absolutely zero stars if I could. We took in our elderly chihuahua, scared she was having an episode and dying. They gave us $70 meds and sent us home with no testing what so ever and she died that night. A few days later we got a “it was great meeting you and your furry friend” card. Talk about salt in the wound. We called the next day to let them know she died as well so they were aware. No bed side manner at all. Upset the whole family all over again.

The doctor has zero experience in what he’s doing and honestly it’s disappointing they’d even appoint him as the doctor. What a disgusting establishment, it is a joke. My baby is at risk of losing her babies and her life because of these people

Lilli was feeling bad with her eye. Maybe inflammation from the dry weather. Went to our vet at Grote today and she got us some drops. Also Lilli just got done with radiation treatments for liposarcoma on her leg and I just noticed a small lump so Dr Solomon looked at it and felt it was something to watch but not worried about any cancer. She was the one we appreciate for sending us to VSNT for treatment. They are the best!

I had just got our 2 Boston Terrier puppies (Batman & Catwoman). They were only about 8 weeks old when I made an appointment at the Grote Veterinary Clinic. We have 4 acres and I wanted to make sure my fur babies got their required shots and vaccines. When I took my fur babies for their appointment. The staff was not very friendly and they put me and my fur babies in room. We were in this room for at least 20 minutes before the female veterinarian and or vet tech came into the room. She was very unfriendly and you could tell by her body language she had no desire to be there. She just looked at my fur babies and said they are still to young to get their vaccinations. I go to check out and they charge me $70.00 for doing absolutely nothing to my fur babies. I had taken my last fur baby that I use to have to them but they were much nicer back then and it was a different veterinarian. I was totally disappointed in how the veterinarian and the staff talked with me and how they treated my fur babies. I will NEVER go back to them again. I ended up taken my fur babies to Parker County Veterinary Hospital at 1724 Blair Dr. In Weatherford. The Parker County Veterinary Hospital staff was outstanding, professional and they treated my fur babies as if they were their babies. What is even nicer was the staff at Parker County didn’t act like they were put out by us being there, unlike the staff and vet at Grote Veterinary Clinic had treated us.

I feel that the caring of my dogs is your first interest. You are able to see them when they are needed to be seen and not days later. You do not add extra test unless it is truly needed. Customer service is great. Dr is extremely knowledgeable and you can tell that she loves animals. I like that she sits on floor loving on your pup as she is talking to you.

Changed my mind on great vet! My Loki boy died under the care of y'all! Id been using y'all for years for simple stuff, vaccines and heartworm prevention but when there's a real issue y'all are horrible! My dog dropped dead after care from y'all. Y'all couldn't even understand his lab results!

Amazing experience with my holland lop bunny rabbit! I was recommended by my breeder in WYLIE that they were an amazing vet clinic for bunny neuters/spays and so I took the leap and drove over an hour at 6am and dropped him off, hung out until about 2pm that day doing homework near by and took him home. The doctor and rest of vet staff called and checked up on him periodically throughout that week and went above and beyond to make sure I had the resources needed for his safe recovery. One of the first clinics i've been to with my bun that I felt like the staff truly cared. Seemed like they were very experienced and knowledgeable with rabbits. Definitely will make the hour drive for my current bun and any rabbits I adopt in the future.

Ok, so I literally moved to Texas like 5 days ago and my older female doggo developed a UTI so I quickly googled local vets and the reviews on Grote vet clinic were amazing, so I went for it and I cannot tell you how happy I am that I went there, my female dog has alot of anxiety and hates going to these places, she was as cool as a cucumber the whole time. Literally kissed both the tech and the vet and showed zero signs of stress during the whole visit. I cannot express to you how happy and friendly the staff is. Shout out to tech Rose, whose absolutely amazing and immediately made us feel at home there, the vet also got on the floor, gave treats and hugs and kisses to my dog and I have never met a more loving staff in this field. Thank you so much. All of my animals are yours as long as I'm in Texas.

So I had to take my very nervous 70lb pit bull into the vet today. He needed a toe nail trim so bad but he hates his paws being touched.Grote Vet Clinic did the most amazing job with him. Maddie the vet tech is an ANGEL. Mochi has had bad experiences with vets man handling him. She took 1.5hrs to go slow and easy with him. She was able to get his nails clipped with no muzzle no restraint and he even let her give him belly rubs!Honestly I’m so thankful and so amazed!

We like Dr. Solomon and all the techs we've dealt with. Our dog constantly gets into stuff that upsets her tummy despite our best efforts. Dr is very helpful in offering advice beyond diagnosis and addresses all our concerns. This is the consistent best vet experience we've had. No drama :-)

Would highly recommend this place, it is extremely affordable with great prices and the staff is very knowledgeable and caring. I have been there twice, once with my dog once with my cat, and will definitely be a returning customer. Unfortunately, I got some bad news about my kitty and had to tell him goodbye, but the vet tech and doctor were so very sweet and caring through the entire process.

I’m so disappointed! I’ve been taking my dog here spent a lot of money on surgery for my dogs leg. They told me it was going to be around 1,500-2,000 I get a call after saying it’s going to be 4,000 but I can make the $2000 on payments because they didn’t know the Surgeon had raised his price. So my dog has been seen there for skin allergies and UTI also. I wake up today she’s peeing blood I only have $4 in my account intel Friday that’s 6 days away She needed to be seen today they said no they won’t wait for the payment even though I made payments on that unexpected $2000. They don’t care if my dog dies!
