I went to the Hobby Lobby store in Waxahachie, TX to purchase a LARGE amount of fabric. After selecting the fabric, I took the bolt to the counter to be measured and cut. I saw some empty, used, cardboard fabric bolts in a shopping cart next to the fabric cutting table. I reached over to get one of the empty bolts to hand to the lady so that she could re-wind the fabric that I was purchasing onto the empty bolt, just like I have done MANY times before at MANY different Hobby Lobby stores, as well as other fabric stores. Everyone in the sewing world knows that when you're dealing with a large quantity of fabric it's much easier to handle on a bolt. I was immediately chastised by the lady and told that I could NOT have the empty cardboard bolt. It was rather embarrassing as she made a HUGE deal about this "corporate decision". She said, if she gave it to me, it would be theft because the empty cardboard bolts are recycled and sold for $2 or $3 each. She said they had a bunch bundled to recycle and that someone stole them. I told her that other Hobby Lobby stores AND fabric stores give the empty cardboard bolts to customers all the time and in fact I've been thanked for taking them because it saves the employees time in breaking them down and saves the store money to pay to have them taken away. She said they sell their bolts back to wherever they come from for $2 to $3 a piece. She said that it was a corporate decision and that NO Hobby Lobby stores should be just giving them away. I told her that I have not only been given the cardboard bolts but also the round cardboard fabric tubes. She ended up deciding that it would be much easier for her to measure and wrap the large amount of fabric (360 feet) that I was purchasing onto an empty bolt and that is what she did. I was just shocked about this. I do intend to find out for sure if this is a "corporate policy" as she said or is there some other reason that this is happening at the Hobby Lobby in Waxahachie, TX. It is a HUGE inconvenience not only to the customer to deal with a large amount of fabric not on a bolt but also to the person measuring and cutting the fabric. I'd bet that customers purchasing large amounts of fabric would frequent stores that give them a USED cardboard bolt to transport and store the fabric on.

Well, I like Hobby lobby and have been to several stores in my lifetime. The one in Waxahachie is the worst I’ve ever been in.I usually go in there every few days and buy modeling supplies, I can honestly say I will find another place after today. Every time I go in this particular hobby lobby, it never fails that there are long lines of customers waiting due to the fact that the employees are slow or Too talkative or don’t even know what they’re doing. While , I was in line earlier the same employee had to call the floor manager over to the register three times because he was not sure what he was doing. The lady that checked me out can’t help herself, but talk to everyone in the store even while customers are standing there waiting. I spent between $30-$50 every time I go in that store every 3 to 5 days but Hobby lobby you have lost my business. I will not be coming back.

I went in with my special needs toddler to get materials for my Easter wreath and Easter bunny headband for my little one. As I was trying to pay for my items, the woman (I believe was a manager?) asked my little one if he would like for her to take the label off and put it on his head. He squealed with delight, and she made his day! Thank you for helping out this mama! Very much appreciated!!!

I've been shopping here since I was 16! So let's just say that's almost 20 years 😂. I absolutely love this store! It's literally my therapist! So many amazing things to discover, create, gift, and make your home/office/classroom etc, a beautiful place. You can find practically everything here! They always have sales so get on the email list for the latest deals!

I popped into Hobby Lobby in Waxahachie the day after Christmas. It was a zoo:) but the employees were all so very kind and helpful! I was super impressed with the manager (a lady name Meagan I think? It was around 330 pm on 12/26)... but she was SO helpful and kind to me, other customers and she was so patient with the employees, some of which were new and some just needed a little extra help. She did everything with kindness and patience. The employees setting out products and trying to keep order in the sales were all so helpful in finding things and it really was a nice shopping experience in the midst of the after Christmas rush:)

I got a nice wooden large frame for my picture at a great price. Then I was able to get a great deal on the mat & it was really nicely framed. I am very happy to get the whole thing done for less than $50 by a very courteous and patient framer.

I love building plastic models of cars, WWII airplane, WWII ships, And for small Leather items, all Hobby Lobby store have leather tools and kits along with leather lacing & leather threads. Of course. My wife loves a lot of little things that she gets from Hobby Lobby to do with our grandchildren.

This place was packed but I was able to find everything needed. Purchased art supplies, charcoal pencils, Indian ink, paint brushes and set of acrylic paint. I also picked up a small table size flocked tree all under $40.

I'm a really frequent shopper at this location and have never had a single issue until today. I told the cashier there was a 50% off sign on an item that was ringing up full price so she double checked with a manager to see if it actually was on sale and this manager spoke to this cashier with such a nasty condescending tone. "I don't you tell me?! What does the ad say?! The ad doesn't say that's on sale so its not!" They honored the price for me. But just the sheer fact that I witnessed how she talked to her employee that was obviously stressed with the busy checkout lines I will not be returning. Managers do better for your employees.

It was very neat,clean and the worker’s were very professional. Having only one return took a whole lot longer not because of many fault by worker’s . A customer brought back a whole basket of Christmas items on 3 or 4 receipts Other wise it was great.

Edit: This store has gone down hill. I used to love coming here. Loved the staff and how welcoming they were before. Everyone always looks tired, annoyed and don’t even greet you when you walk in anymore. I miss the old faces from before. So welcoming.Everyone is always very nice and the Manager with the pretty curly hair/ponytail is always so nice! She always greets you and when she’s at the cashier, she always lets you know how much you are saving as she’s scanning things. Love this store so much.

Freaking love this place! It smells amazing! Prices are always on point. Staff can be ehh some times but I don't even care. They must put happy juice in with whatever they spray to make it smell so good because I can never be mad when at hobby lobby! As a crafter it's great to have one so close! So many fabric and yarn options, they never disappoint!

A great place to get in the Holiday Spirit.
