I originally wanted to order bbq, but then everyone one around me was ordering the hamburger steak plate. It was delicious. Brown gravy and Sliced onions on it. The fries were okay, bread was good. Having been referred to us as a "Really Good" place to eat, we ventured in for dinner. Just off the hiway, you pull in the plentiful parking area to a dated box shaped building with windows from roof to chair rail on three sides. A sign with Jim's BBQ over the entrance welcomed us in. Upon entering, a staff member welcomed us and seated us. I stated this was our first visit, and the young man was nice enough to explain the top sellers, local favorites, and hearty meals. After deciding, I ordered the cajun four piece catfish with sweet tea while my husband ordered the combo plate of three meats and a cola. Our beverages came quickly with our meals following shortly thereafter. All the items were at the proper temperatures and tasted very well. The four catfish filets were rather small for the price with the food served on styrofoam. A big eco. negative in my book!The interior was set with 70's laminate booths around the outside and 70's laminet top tables in the center. The country western decor was dated and sun faded. I will say the best feature this place has is the staff. Everyone we spoke with was genuinely friendly, outgoing, and helpful. Not one rolled their eyes, if a mistake was made, that person claimed it, apologized, corrected it immediately, and made the customer feel important! That alone deserves our business!Parking: Parking is available on three sides of the restaurant with ample room for RVs, SUVs, travel trailers, or livestock trailers.Kid-friendliness: Kid menu available with a good selection to choose from.

Stumbled upon this place as I was driving i-20 thru to Dallas. They should charge for smells the smokey scent of bbq and peach cobbler lingered in the air. The staff was very helpful and worked together. The drive thru was booming. The inside was buzy with the hum of people placing to-go orders. I ordered the rib sandwich plate with beans and potatoes salad, 1/2 of sliced beef and 1/2 of sausage to taste. Wonderful.! Mrs Tori was my waitress!

Friendly service! Small town feel. We stopped on our way to Louisiana. The food was very good! Chicken tenders we're amazing! Blueberry cobbler was the best I've ever had!Only complaint was no changing table in ghe bathroom, but the tailgate worked!

Once seated, our drink order was taken immediately, but it took a long time to place our order. The food arrived quickly. My food was perfect: I ordered the loaded baked potato stuffed with pulled pork. It is HUGE. My husband ordered the half chicken and said it was okay, but he felt it was burnt (it was pretty blackened). Refills were an issue. The tea drinkers at the table got refills every time staff walked by, but I had to get my own soda refill on several occasions because they would forget to come back and get it. All the staff were very friendly, and we will definitely be back, but probably won't get the chicken again.

I wanted sliced brisket and what I got was roast!There was barely a smoke ring and the fat had not rendered. I noticed a piece of my meat had sauce all over it. So I asked why..... only to find out they cook their brisket and then slice it up and leave it sitting in BBQ sauce. That ain't BBQ that is a roast!I can not comment on anything else but this was not brisket! So if you want brisket do not come here.

I had catfish plate, green tomatoes, coleslaw, fries, catfish filets…. Exceeded my expectations… so very yummy; Boyfriend had pulled pork platter and he raved about everything on his plate!! Place had old fashioned vibe, meticulously clean and staff super friendly. The homemade blackberry cobbler took the whole experience to a different level. Might be a good thing I don’t live closer b/c I’d be there every day.. but we’ll be stopping there again we we come back this way!!!! Worth it!!

We stopped in for lunch and I must say that this is the best BBQ I have ever had in Texas. The ribs were falling off the bone and the baked beans were to die for they were so good let's not forget the coleslaw it was perfect. We had blackberry dumplings and peach cobbler Both were the best I ever had and I'm 74. I strongly recommend you stop by if you're hungry and want a good meal the price is very reasonable and they also serve fried catfish but we didn't order any.

Semi Truck Parking, in dirt lot there is a patch of grass so can walk dog. 2 hour Minimum. If you park overnight it is $10. Staff was super friendly, good food! Didn’t try breakfast but looked delicious. 4 stars bc chicken fried steak was not the greatest but better than truck stop food

I was searching for a bbq place close to me and this was one of the closest and I am glad I first was concerned about the portions of the sides however the quality and taste far outweighed the side portion issue I got a rib plate and it was great along with some of the best beans I've ever had definitely will return
