We stopped by to try something different, and it wasn't bad. So the food tasted good, I had a couple of little issues but informed them about everything, and they went out of their way to make things right and offered discount on my meal, which I was not asking for. My server asked for my honest opinion, and that's what I gave her, and I told her. She was awesome and very attentive and with a great attitude, which is hard to come by these days. I hope she is my server next time also. The reason I'm giving a 5 star is because of the effort they took to take care of me.

This was my first visit in many years and I was so pleasantly surprised. The servers were friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. I had old fashioned comfort food, a chicken fried steak dinner. The salad was crisp, the dressing house made; the mashed potatoes were the real deal and the well seasoned green beans were fresh, not canned or frozen. The meat was perfectly cooked with a yummy crust. The country gravy was as good as any I’ve ever had. The servings were plentiful, I had about half to take home to enjoy the next day.

I drove by Hedgehog Drill after a morning 3 hour "hiking" in Stephen F. Austin State Park & ordered a pint of beer, a grilled Catfish with a big bowl of salad. I enjoyed my solo lunch very much. The service was great, price was fair, beer was cold & catfish was perfectly grilled. Would recommend to anyone who is around Waller, TX to stop by and give this nice restaurant a try.

Came in with the little family for some lunch after seeing the great reviews.Unfortunately, we didn't get the same service or even a menu for that matter.So what happened.. Walked in, looked fairly normal capacity. Stood at the front counter (cooler?) for a few minutes before a woman who seemed very overwhelmed told us we could sit anywhere and then she'd help us.So we did. Other parties came in with the same kind of spill after us. Trying to be patient from have waited tables before and being in the weeds. Although, after a few bouts of trying to entertain a hungry toddler, I realized it really had been at least 15-20 minites without any menus or drinks, I started to look around behind me. Then my husband told me at least two other tables of people who arrived after us had some sort of order taken or were given menus.We waited around a few more minutes until a young lady started to flip through bills, counting her tips from the booth on the other side of us. We still had ZERO other interaction with staff besides, seat yourself.We walked out and decided to try something else.Put a total damper on a day.

We were in town for a baseball tournament and we stopped by today after searching restaurants in the area. The waitstaff was super sweet and the restaurant was very clean. It looked just as I imagined a small town restaurant would look. I love that small town feel! We thought the name sounded fun too! The food did not disappoint and we all left full! The kids loved the chicken tenders and mac and cheese!! We are glad we stopped by and would recommend the Hedgehog Grill! I know we are in the middle of a pandemic and people are nervous about eating out. It was nice that customers were given the option of wearing a mask or not. It was refreshing! Hand sanitizer was located throughout the restaurant and there were several signs about hand washing. It was clear that the restaurant was taking steps to keep their customers safe and comfortable.

Great food! Masks aren't worn by many of the staff. Onion rings are tasty, but pretty salty. I'd just go with the fries next time. The Philly cheese steak was excellent and could be split between two, really. The tomato soup was awesome. Root beer float was also great.

Food and atmosphere are amazing. Each time we went both servers were so sweet and attentive, making sure we received the best customer service. The burgers are amazing! We've personally recommended this place to a ton of people. Love it

Best restaurant in Waller/Brookshire/Hempstead Hands down!!!! If you haven't tried Hedgehogs chicken fried steak, you haven't lived. And the staff is so welcoming and friendly. I've become a regular here, the atmosphere is lovely. The food is delicious!!! (Everything on the menu is just spectacular!!!) Drinks are great!! Awesome variety! Their sweet tea is perfectly sweet!!! Love love love this place!!! And the burgers and fries are just... 😋 so good!!!

To be honest I'm sad right now, but it's my own fault for not reading the menu. I ordered two blt's. I've been eating blts my whole life so I didn't think to check the ingredients that they use to make it, it's been the same for all 30 of my years on this earth lettuce tomato bacon and mayo. Not here they put mustard on it, and I love mustard on most things, but on a blt, come on man that's ridiculous, didn't want to leave a bad review because it was on me and the food was fresh and tasty. Whoever created the menu here, we can't be friends.

Good price, food was good quality. Fries were a tad over salted but the kids mac and cheese was great.Our sever was brand new, and not the best. However she was polite and responsive. They are hiring for wait staff as well

Love this place. The salads are really big and tasty. The fried catfish, fried okra and macaroni is awesome! Definitely going back here every chance I get
