Place is good to shop at but they just recently installed a self check out cause the cashier was never there justs all ways stocking now they stop using it and put beef jerky there cmon now dollar general get it together at least have both them open and not a very long line gets annoying i enjoyed the self checkout while it lasted...

This is a post about multiple stores including this one. I know prices of certain things can't be changed, it's the vendors who price things. I also understand that the vendors are in charge of putting up the prices for the items such as beer. I don't care about a few cents here and there but between the 5 stores that do sell beer from hempstead to magnolia none of them have the prices for the beer right. I have to either pay 5 dollars more than what is posted or i have to have them take it off and pick and choose until I find some that isn't too much more than what the price says. Either dollar general needs to hold vendors accountable for changing the posted prices or dollar general just needs to put in price scanners like they have at target so we know how much an item is before we reach the counter and want to put it back. I'm not talking about when there is a deal. I mean just the normal prices without deals. I wish I could do half of my job and still keep it. Get with the gd program I'm tired of having to walk up to checkout 3 separate times. This isn't a new problem and I hope it gets resolved

Went in for a few items a couple of days ago and couldn’t get to anything on the shelves. Every isle looked like the 2 photos posted. The 2 female employees weren’t even working on stocking, just up front conversing with one another. SMH. Ridiculous! Dollar General might need to bump up the hourly pay a bit so they can get some decent help in there.

New employee's stay in the office nowhere to be found, customer's left to do self check out and if there's any problem don't expect anyone to come out to help you. I'll start going to family dollar across the street.

Wow. The Dollar General in my neighbor goes back and forth from clean to filthy. Currently it is filthy. The restroom sink is stacked with junk. How are people suppose to wash their hands as required? Picture taken 8.24.18

Imagine waiting for the store to open. I can't control time. I wait until 5 after and she treats me like a child ah ah ah ah 8 o clock.... ? I hope this store has an effective employee. Losing customers back to back.

Decent store for quick in and out trips, although usually theres only one cashier so the line can get a bit long. Stores a little bit messy and dirty but usually can find what you need......update....this location is horrible now....they always have carts blocking the end caps and the isle so you cant even find what you need, shelves are always bare. The pictures I added are from this past weekend, literally not even 20 minutes after they opened.

This stor what's a mess but now it looks very nice not sure what happened. I do have to say TYE IS one the NICEST guys I've ever met working customer service. HE SHOULD RUN THAT PLACE .

Bathroom was surprisingly clean. Very organized. I was able to navigate through the isles. Very pleased. If I am in this area again I will definitely stop by. Very friendly staff. That's what makes the store unforgettable.

I feel it didn't even deserve the one star I did give and That star was the poor cashier that frantically tried and check out 15+ customers that had been standing in line for a good 20 mins while the manager I assumed was in the office on the phone the entire time. The store is disorganized, messy and hard to get around due to the inventory does not get put away. It just stays on those trolleys and customers just shop from those. This store needs a major intervention and rehaul or you will continue to lose customers over this.

Rarely a good experience to go into this DG. Aisles are usually blocked with merchandise that hasn't been placed on shelves to the point I can't see how it is not a fire hazard. Bathroom has been gross the few times I had to go in there. Employees are pleasant and helpful. Maybe they need a night crew to clean and stock shelves?

Best supervisor in town miss Smita. Smiling always. Greeting customers even with all the work she is still upbeat. Nice store, affordable prices. Great staff:)

You cannot shop this store. There are boxes everywhere and several aisles are completely blocked with freight. I found a box of Poptarts that expired in January of 2020....if you go in be careful, there's a Family Dollar right down the street.

This place was a mess. Racks of stuff sitting in every isle. Customer service sucked. White lady with awful looking dreads completely ignored us while having a full on conversation with a friend. No thank you, have a nice day, nothing! Need some serious real management in this place. Think I'll go to Family Dollar next time.

This store is a JOKE! It is completely overstocked and a mess. One associate with the dreads is on a constant smoke break in her van which looks to be plugged into the store. They never have change for cash and many times that I have been there, the credit/debit machine doesn't work. This store needs new management. I will never go back to this store again. I will stick to the Dollar General in Hempstead.

This DG is heavily stocked and it stays that way. The only problem I have is the time that it takes to get out the store. The checkout line is often very long . The other workers will not open the second register alot of times. Very once in awhile some one will come and open the second one. longest I have been in line was 20 minutes. This is very ridiculous . The workers are friendly though,but the bad thing about this store is the long checkout wait.

Visiting Dollar General is usually a quick run! Meaning , I go in with an agenda of getting a specific item, and end up leaving with 2-3 bags of goodies. They always have super cute household items. Items ranging from candles to really nice wall hangings. And the prices are affordable for any budget.

Cashier on this particular visit was very cordial genuinely friendly. However didn't like the way a couple of the aisles were blocked up with merchandise waiting to be stocked so no way to shop that aisle.

This store has a VERY friendly staff, however on the day of our visit we found the shelves to be a bit late except for the holiday items. I wasn't there for holiday items so it was difficult but the staff was there to help me find what I needed

The lines are always slow. They only work 2 people at most and expect them to stock the shelves and run the register because they're too cheap to just hire a stocker.

The people here are always nice and friendly. Just wish it wasn't always so cluttered from the employees stocking shelves. It's annoying going around it all while shopping.

Waller Texas now dollars general is the most horrible experience I ever encountered with a store manager (R.R.) My MANY OF timeS going IN THERE Let me say this not All stores bad but its was very unpleasant and just straight lied, To my face if you don't know the answer say that not want you think is correct. Explain how you a STORE MANAGER AND CAN NOT FIND YOUR JOURNAL AFTER YOU COUNT YOUR REGISTER DOWN . REALLY CUSTOMER SERVICES OVER 20 YRS AND I CAN STILL GO INTO ANY STORE WITH A GILBO SYSTEM AND CAN GET ANY CUSTOMER MY LAST OR FIRST TRANACTION . I AM NOT FINISH. Used to be the best dollar store in town. Sadly, it's fallen into deep disarray. U Boats blocking numerous aisles, shelves not faced, etc. It's too bad.

I shop here all the time. However the isles are always filled with dollies full of stuff and you can't get to the items you need. And the stay is very mean and very nasty. So I've switched to Family Dollar where it's clean, unclutter and very friendly workers.
