We’ve been shopping at Tom Thumb (Plano TX location) for 20 years. We move to the Rockwall area and expect the same good experience but we were wrong. We spend a few hundred dollars monthly with Tom Thumb and use their delivery or curbside service a couple of times per week. We were forced to make several returns over the last few months due to completely poor food, left out expired chicken, opened items, brown lettuce etc. Our account was abruptly suspended with NO NOTICE. After doing some digging we found out it was Rhonda the Store Manager who approved the suspension. When we called to speak with her we expressed our concerns in her quality of god with multiple orders. She was condescending, rude, and quick, making things seem as though it was our fault. Leaving us feeling bad in the end. We have never spoken with any store manager who was so rude! We informed her we always take pictures when there’s an issue. She wanted the pics but never gave us her contact info. Rhonda had a very poor disgusting attitude which we believe is the reason why her food in the store isn’t up to par. Never received a call back. If I were you, use the delivery and curbside carefully.

The store was extremely clean and well organized. I couldn’t locate an item and I asked the store employee who helped me find the item without any hesitation. He was friendly and very helpful. I was able to get my shopping done in 20 minutes.

I use to love this location because they had great ready made meals. Well someone in that department is getting lazy and it’s gross to have to de vein a shrimp that’s already covered in marinade. It happens everytime I buy them lately and or they won’t all be de shelled. If you’re making the effort to remove the shell then finish by removing the rest. I don’t find it appetizing and it makes me want to throw the entire dish out.

Buyers Beware of the butcher is running a scam. Yesterday I bought 8.860lbs. of Boneless skinless chicken breast was on sale for 99 cents. The butcher said she had it prewrapped for faster service. Well yeah right. I got it home unwrapped it and weighed it with all the wrapping was 8.860 when weighed the chicken itself was 6 lbs. almost 3 lbs difference. Then I had to cut off chicken skin which had been left on and found bone fragments in the meat. Had a kid ate it they could have choked on the bones. To say the least will NEVER EVER BUY MEAT FROM HERE. Cheese just beginning left on the floor. Yes it was warm not cold cheese.

The Tom Thumb store itself is fine. Great selections of food. I’ve never interacted with any employees to comment on that.Now for the bakery…. I’m going to give it 2 stars because of the overall experience of ordering my son’s cake. It was a giant headache and when I went to pick it up, it was not even close to what I had pictured. The lady behind the counter suggested picking a picture to be printed onto the cake. Seemed easy enough so I picked a photo and then she tells me I need to print it. I printed it and brought it to the store the next day. Now you would assume they would shape the picture to fit the cake ,but no, they put a square picture on a round cake. That is my main complaint because in what world does that make sense to do. Their edible printer ink was also running low I guess because the colors are off. I asked for flames on the sides of the cake and just got vertical stripes. I also didn’t ask for a white border on top of the cake. I asked for it to match the flames. The chocolate cake itself also wasn’t good. Thankfully my son was only turning 5 and was just happy to see Godzilla and Kong on a cake. I learned my lesson, from now on I will order from a true baker and not a grocery store. Side note: I picked this bakery because I heard some people raving about a Tom Thumb bakery in Rockwall for birthday cakes. It is NOT this location. Try the one going towards Heath.

The bakery makes the absolute best birthday cakes!!! They made my twin girls 4th bday Bluey themed cake and it was beautiful and delicious!! Highly recommend!!

Great grocer! Its like Whole Foods without the attitude. The produce and meats are fresh. The deli has a good assortment of foods like potato salads and chicken dishes, and the sandwiches are excellent. The grocery aisles have unique items and the frozen foods always has top quality products and something new to try. The store is always in good shape, clean and organized and the employees are helpful. One of the few times I don't mind shopping.

If I could give her 10 stars I would. VAL in floral, was absolutely amazing today. I walked in looking for last minute flowers for the tragic death of a child and I immediately knew I was meant to be there. She was kind and offered her services and put together and entire standing spray for us in just a few hours. I am immensely grateful for her help, her kindness, and her willingness to go above and beyond. I wish amazing things for her.......beyond that moment, the store was also great. A sitting area if you're grabbing lunch, good food choices, flower and veggies looked great. My only complaints would be my son thought the restrooms were dirty and only one check out lane at 3pm.

Deli and bakery services are terrible. They are very rude and unfriendly. I hope they hire staff with common sense and courtesy. Deli Fried chicken is always dry and tough, as they have been under the heat lamp for the whole day. And when asked for fresh ones, its always 20 min wait. Same with Bakery, always have to wait 10 plus min for someone to come out from the back to assist.

I order Tom Thumb Delivery for my groceries and I have to say that they’re the best 100%. Charlene offered to drop off personally an item that the delivery driver forgot because she felt bad. I appreciate this kind of customer service to go above and beyond. Not to mention when I shop in store they’re the kindest.

Me and my wife visited the store on Super Bowl Sunday to avoid the horror that is Walmart on Sundays. It was a very refreshing experience. We were checked out by a gentleman that was on a roll with the $5 bag fundraiser he only needed to get a few more bags to meet the goal before the end of his shift. He was super efficient and quick at checking out. He showed passion and pride for his position. He was truly a breath of fresh air and inspiration. This store is truly blessed to have this man on the payroll. I didn't catch his name but wanted to thank him for the experience. Thank you for your service sir.

This location has high prices compared to other stores in the area and the produce is awful.We had a terrible experience with an employee, Catherine who has zero customer service skills and belittles customers.Also, watch your receipts, many items do not reflect the sale price at the checkout.

We have been going to this store regularly for the past year. Over the last 4-6 months every time we have shopped there we have returned home with expired or bad food. Everything from moldy cheese, sour meat, and produce that does not last past one day. If things don’t change on the quality control at this site I don’t see how they will remain open.

Tom Thumb has good sale prices and digital coupons. There's usually a good selection of organic produce. The employees are always very pleasant. A great place to shop! There are some organic items that I can only find here.I like finding discounts on fresh meats and sometimes even dairy and produce.

BEWARE OF BEING POISONED!!!!!!!Look... this is probably the 5th review I've ever left in my life but people, listen. I bought food on my way home 7/3. I got ground beef and ground turkey... Everyone, I went to use the ground beef and luckily I check the expiration date everytime before use. The ground beef was expired in APRIL and the ground turkey expired June 28th. Maybe it was a staff member that doesn't care about anything in his life let alone someone else's health but either way it's unacceptable. If you are buying any fresh produce, please make sure you check the expiration date before purchase. And as for you Tom Thumb, hire an extra person to check quality control because you dropped the ball on this one and almost poisoned me. Thanks

I shop this Tom Thumb regularly. Generally, my experiences have been good ones.Today was an exception. I placed all of my items into my shopping cart and returned to the front of the store to pay. I was in the self-checkout area and some of my items did not ring up correctly. I asked an employee who was working the area about the price of a couple of my items. On the first item when I inquired about the pricing, she responded that she "did not know." When the second item rang up incorrectly, she told me that I would have to take the item back to the deli and have the deli personnel reprice the item. Apparently, this employee needs some additional training in customer service. IT IS NEVER APPROPRIATE TO TELL A CUSTOMER THAT THEY SHOULD FIX AN ISSUE THAT BELONGS TO THE STORE.When I attempted to contact the store manager, a person who was NOT the store manager came on the phone and was really not interested in the issues that I had with the store and its employee.Keep up the good work Tom Thumb! You will soon find that people like me will spend their money where their business is actually valued!

I've been trying to find a particular Oreo flavor for awhile. Found one package there & asked a woman who came out of the back room if she had any more of these. She checked & said no, but she would ask the company next time about this particular flavor. Her name was Lisa & she even wrote down my name & phone number. She reminds me of the old fashioned service we used to get decades ago that I really miss.

Love this store in Rockwall Tx but getting fed-up! Most Thru or Friday mornings go there and spend about $200 on my weekly lotto and wife's scratchers and then get Starbucks coffee to drink in the car while wife shops! Last month wife scratchers had two tickets one winning $100 and another for $20,00. Lady at service comes back with my lotto tickets and then I get $100 cash for wife's scratchers from the machine and while doing this she says you won $20.00. I told her no we won $120 and all you did was walk about eight feet to register to do my tickets. After saying NO, I gave her one ticket they called a second lady over who found the $100 tickets and all I heard was sorry! Bottom line if the second lady didn't find our ticket there is no way we will get our money no matter how sorry they say they are, and everyone knows this! That would be a quick $100 dollars in her pocket! As much as I spend each week, I'm not going to cheat them! Now this Friday I went in and told the clerk had $52.00 in scratcher winnings and $24.00 on my Texas 2-step ticket on a $10.00 ticket I play every week, 2-draws. Game D 10-13-14-32 and bonus 34. I get home unloading the groceries just to find out she did not pay my lotto winnings! Receipt casher Catherine store 2964 and my lotto pay receipt #497407 Dec 09,2022 UPDATING, not sure why this post says two weeks ago as it was four weeks ago! What is sad for such a small amount of my winnings they kept they lost our business plus the Starbucks in the store, and I also would go next door and get haircut so missing all this for a loss of $24.00! If they checked the register the dept was either short or over my $24.00. Doesn't sound like they even bothered to check it out!

Great produce and meats. A little pricey, but the quality is worth it. And sales prices are usually very good. I got a prime rib roast for abt $6/#. Score!!! Christmas dinner taken care of. Not much interaction with staff, in fact, they are a little scarce. But I managed to find all I was looking for... And then some!
