The store looked great. They have a lot of things in stock. The reason for such a low review, reflects how I was treated. I went in today and about five people watching the store from the end of the aisles. One employee followed me like they were scared always going to steal from them. I was dressed in my work uniform as I needed supplies for a job I was going to. I am clean cut, no tattoos, and I tried to be friendly with everyone. My company is local to the Rockwall area so I’m sure they have seen my van or the company vans around town. Anyway, When I asked if they had a particular item the man said go to aisle 4. I was in the duct area looking for metal duct tape (good place to look) but apparently it’s on the opposite side of the store. He didn’t take me there, just said, “go look, it’s there on aisle 4” Just low quality customer service. I guess I’m old school (Gen X) and would have expected more from the boomers working there.

Definitely found what I needed. The store is organized and immaculate.Only reason to bump down 1 star is the staff (the one I directly worked with) was quite smug...as if I was bothering him by asking where a certain item was located.Without saying a word, he gruffly pointed over my shoulder and just leered at me... like I'm supposed to know where the item I'm looking for is located.I then asked him if can show me where (very politely I may add), and he huffed and scoffed his way over to the item, picked it up and then kinda' dropped it back down in its place as if 'here it is, stop bothering me.'I was pretty taken aback by his demeanor, but they had what I needed, so I made the purchase.Very strange encounter...

If you need it, they have it! If they don't have it you probably don't need it. I have looked and looked for these parts on Amazon auto zone and elsewhere.. no one had them... except ACE!

Went to get hardware supplies . This place made me feel VERY UNCOMFORTABLE!! As an AFRICAN AMERICAN, THEY WATCHED ME LIKE A HAWK WATCH HIS PREY!!!! I don't recommend that as a person of color you go to this place. Oh!! Please let the older man behind the counter know that our skin color doesn't come off and spread. We really need to get past judging people on the color of their skin

This establishment has been in Rockwall for quite sometime. The staff are always knowledgeable, courteous, helpful and friendly. This hardware store has an incredible variety of items including: keys, (including programmable key fobs), various bolts/nuts/washers/screws, of the plain, galvanized, stainless types, paints and samples, garden, shop, home tools and supplies...on and on. I come here for a quick purchase and if I need some assistance it is here. The help and expedient assistance are things one cannot get at the big box stores. I highly recommend.Update: I've returned for an irrigation part to repair my irrigation system and an associate quickly assisted me in locating the exact part which I installed! It functions perfectly!!Update 2: We needed a tank sprayer to water and wet some 'popcorn' ceiling spray material so we could wet it and scrape it off. Aces' helpful assistant took me to the aisle and showed me the selection of sprayers that were available. I picked one out, and purchased it which was promptly taken care of. Excellent service and courtesy all around.

When we walked in greeted by an older gentleman and asked if we needed help finding anything. He showed us an few options to what we were looking for and was very helpful. Much easier than going to Home Depot and was quick to find the part we needed.

The only hardware store I go to. Locally owned! You can actually walk in and someone will help you unlike the big box retailers. Prices may not be as competitive but the convience and service I'll gladly pay more and locally owned

It's one of the old fashioned hardware stores that have pretty much anything you want. I'm docking it for requiring masks as well as having staff uncomfortably follow you around the store like you're going to steal something. It's one thing to be helpful, it's another thing when they're just being weird.

Had some issues with a chainsaw I purchased in the morning, took it back that afternoon and Mike took the time to take it apart and diagnose it. Turns out the chain had a manufacturer's defect on it so he replaced the chain. Great customer service that is hard to come by these days. especially at the larger stores.

I moved to Rockwall 1.5 years ago and everyone here is so kind and nice! BUT these people, particularly the two older men who work there are as rude and dismissive as anyone could be! I won’t shop there because of this reason which means I drive an extra 10 miles to shop at Lowes and Home Depot JUST for care and politeness! Even my contractor said they were rude to him!!!! I hope someone who works there reads this as I’ve been doing nothing but contract work on my house for a year and a half and we could’ve used that place a few times!!!! Rudeness makes people feel bad and is negative.

I really quit going to this place when they turned into mask nazis during covid time. Very rude. I tried them out again for a special bolt my friends needed. Didn't have what we needed. I probably would go back but still passed at how rude they were a year ago. Time heals bitter feelings.

Great place to shop. Very friendly. Had an awesome experience with Mike who works here. Bought an item that would not fit in my vehicle. Mike offered to drop it by my house after work using his personal truck. That's customer service that's seldom seen these days. I highly recommend this store and will shop here again every chance I get. Simply put, Ace is the place for me!!!

Family friendly location. Everytime I've walked in I'm always greeted and asked if I need some help finding what I need. No high-pressure sales or pushy workers. It's like talking to family when you shop here. I like that. The location has a great parking lot with tons of space and very convenient to get in and out of.

Great selection, great place to find things you can't find at big box stores. Helpful, friendly staff. I needed specific plumbing hardware that were not carried by the 2 big box home improvement stores in my area and I was so happy to find them in stock and available for purchase at Ace Hardware.
