Update! Love the finds at the rural stores especially. It's 4 yrs later, the store has been remodeled, all local stores have, and I do enjoy that there is more selection, but at the same time DG is losing its hometown store and feeling more like a retail conglomerate. More like a mini Walmart. I miss the old stores.

Will never attempt to shop there again. Last visit, after waiting my turn in line, another customer behind me began setting his items on the counter, and since the cashier appeared to know him, he was allowed to cut, I walked out and went to Cypress Springs.

Went into this store tonight, the radio was blaring a song that dropped the "F" bomb over and over. When I said something...I recieved no apology or even regret..it was "oh it is hooked up to that employee's phone Pandora"..Really?! It was so unprofessional. Dollar general isn't as FAMILY friendly as they are trying to portray. Thank the Lord I left my 7 and 12 yr olds to stay in the car with my husband!!!!

This store is normally kept decently stocked, and the employees have always been nice and friendly. It can feel a bit crowded and disheveled in there though, and sometimes you have to wait a while for an employee to realize there's someone waiting to checkout.

Absolutely terrible customer service. There were 15 people in line and someone kindly asked if there was someone else to help check out. The cashier got snippy and said they were doing something else but eventually called another cashier up and shouted rude comments about it not being fast enough for everyone.

Got delivery on Tusday. Today is Friday the aisle and ends were full of full carts because there was no employee stocking. Was unable to go down some aisles.Was able to get some of the things I wanted

It's in a lot better shape than was 2 months ago you can walk down aisles & doing better stalking shelves friendly staff I'm in this store about 3 times a week spend average 25.00 a visit.

its cluttered and in poor upkeep but keeps good stock. good help. Update: as of 2022 THIS PLACE IS AN INSANE NIGHTMARE! But then again so are all dollar stores I've been to since the COVID Hoax. I don't even want to be here any longer ... 😐

I have never been treated so badly in a business and all of my life I will never shop there again. Even the manager was rude and disrespectful. When asked for a product was I was ignored. I I truly don't see how Dollar General could even stay in business with management and employees like this what a shame in a small town Dollar General is ran by such terrible employees

I only really go here if i have to. Prices are great. Problem it takes them weeks to refill energy drinks when they run out. And for my girlfriend and I who drink them daily it's unfortunate they don't restock things weekly as they run out. Especially with popular items.

The employees in Mt Vernon at the Dollar General are absolutely the nicest and most helpful people I've come across in a long time. I needed to make a garment exchange and it was a very smooth transaction. However, in my opinion there are way to many garments on the racks. They are packed in so tight and all tangled up with each other. You can't pull one out to look at it and you can't put it back on the rack. To much for me to want to have to do. Kids clothing mixed in with mens. Mens mixed with womens. All sizes mixed together. If I had been shopping for myself instead of my 93 year old grandmother, I would've walked away.this Dollar General is a nice store. There's no need to make it so hard to shop for clothes which appeared to be pretty good inventory

there is never more than one employee working and the store is always so crowded with boxes stacked so high which makes it a safety hazard. i could barely get through Isles because of the boxes. good, decent prices though.

This store is okay, decent prices,could be more organised,could also have a few nicer employees don't get me wrong there not all rude some are though,most of the time some are helpful and have consideration, it's Manley just another store in this great world .if you have time to text you have time to clean .God Bless everyone have a great day an life,realer than most.

Customer service is terrible. I had a coupon in my car and when I made my transaction she wouldn't honor me the 5 dollars off. When I ran out to my car to find it I grabbed the wrong one ( I have several since I make a lot of pit stops there). She (the clerk) told me sorry, can't help you. When the other employee came up to the register after I just checked out said, "We keep a supply over here of the 5 dollars off." I was so angry after the clerk checked me out...she simply said, we'll get you next time hon. Seriously! Rude! I will be back at the Vineyard for most of my shipping now. Customer service is TERRIBLE!

Some of the clerks are nice and friendly but the store is so full of stuff you can't get down the aisle with a buggy only 1 cashier most of the time

It's gotten a lot better but sometimes the place is crammed full of product. And hard to walk around in there. 1 cashier and several people waiting in line forever it seems.

Decent selection of necessary items.COVID concerns: a sheet of paper on the door states masks are required, but it is not enforced. Social distancing is not enforced, and I have yet to see the counter disinfected between customers.

I went in mt.Vernon store .immediately that big butthole manager started stalking me and when I confronted him could I help him and asked why he waz stalking me he turned into a major butthole ...so I have never received treatment like that from them ever ..I will never go back to there again ..and will spread the word ..

Stopped by Dollar General to buy a few cleaning products. While I was shopping at Dollar General I also stumbled by some Christmas decorations. The decorations were awesome and were a Dollar each!

Store is always a mess and inventory boxed everywhere. Shelves are empty and you can't get to what you need. Usually only one cashier and a line a mile long.

Slow staff but reasonably nice smells a bit funny some days but I always find what I'm after and am happy its here!
