Went there to get some milk, and in passing of the deli, I saw the fish and ordered some, but the server said he had some fresh just cook, and i said ok good. But oh, when I got to my vehicle and opened the bag I was SO DISAPPOINTED. There were supposed to be 2 pieces in the bag, but there were so many broken pieces that were so hard cooked I thought they were pork skins. They were hard as Fritos. But all else was good.

My favorite grocery store! The staff are warm, courteous, and friendly. If they don't have what you want, just ask the manager, and they will order it for you.

This place is ridiculous! Brookshires sure isn't what it used to be. At least not at brookshires#58. The prices are higher than ever, and the employees are rude and very unhelpful. Nobody wants to check anyone out, you have to bag your own groceries and if they do bag them they leave stuff out and you never make it home with everything, and they hardly even push a cart out anymore. I watched a little 8 month pregnant girl struggle with getting a full cart out the door with 3 gawking teenage peckerheads right there and I had to walk away from checking myself out to go help her with her basket and they never moved a muscle, just stood with mouths open. 🤡 Worthless. The Managers don't do anything either except follow everyone around the store. The other night they shut half the lights off in the store at 9:15! It was dangerously dark. Someone should have "tripped" on one of those abandoned carts just sitting around the store and they could have sued and owned the store. They couldn't help but run it better than these yay-whos in there now. I honestly had to use my phone light to finish shopping! What the heck is going on #58? In fact I only gave it two stars but now that I'm thinking about I should have given it 1.I call them Crook-shires now.. lol.Beware! If you haven't been in there in a year or so, prepare yourself, You won't get the service you're used to. And bring a flashlight!

This place is great, as you walk in you see the cashier's greeting and conversing with the people with buggies by the door. Walking through the store the isles wide, shelves are stocked. The employee's seem to respect their job it shows in the friendly greeting and the over-all cleanliness. Good job Brookshires

Make sure you get a sales ad! If you trust an employee they will give you a wrong price and then management won’t do anything.

Maybe it's just me but every time I go here I use the self checkout because the other cashier lanes are always full but the self checkout is extremely frustrating here. Always get some kind of error message about bagging and have to call the non existent employee to come help. I won't go back just for that reason but the choices in this God forsaken place called Paris Texas are very limited. Walmart? What a joke. Have to fight the curbside shopper people on every aisle and they just push their way right in front of you. Piggly wiggly? Nope! Kroger seems to be the only alternative. Wish we had an heb here.

Self checkouts don't belong at brookshires we pay more for our groceries here do to them having better customer service. With self checkouts there is no customer service just a machine. No one to take your full cart of groceries out. No one greeting you very impersonal might as well go to Walmart.

We always have a great experience at this store. Typically we will stop in between 7:30pm and 9pm, and the store is usually pretty quiet and always very clean. On the nights it happens to be a little busy, we have never had to wait long to check out. The department associates and front end staff are quite nice to my young son and our little family. I've encountered NOTHING BUT EXCELLENT customer service here.This store offers a pleasant and calm shopping experience all around.Amira (I hope I'm spelling this correctly, if not, I deeply apologize) was our cashier tonight. She was helpful, kind, professional and very personable. In fact, she jumped on a register to help keep the lines from growing, which I know many of us appreciate. Thanks for making my little guy smile throughout our transaction, he was having a blast.Management: you have some real gems at this location. Very hard working and friendly team. One of the prettiest, most well kept stores I've shopped at or worked at (was a grocery supervisor and front end manager for 10 years)

The store is nice, I gave it a 4 star because their prices are a higher then other places and they need a better selection of Gluten Free options and I trust they are working on that expansion. The do have good sales sometimes though, and that is helpful. That said, the layout of the store is sensible, the employees are helpful and have good attitudes.

We pay extra to shop here so we have people to carry out our groceries. Since they remodeled and put in self check out they never have more than 2 checkers working. I pay extra here to have that service. I am disabled and can't hardly walk much less carry my own groceries out. I hope someday maybe there will be another grocery store come in to Mount Vernon to give them some competition

I love the store but the prices are on the high side. The layout of the store is well managed and the workers are friendly and professional. They have a water dispenser outside as well, which is on the high price for basic water. I would understand if it was alkaline.

As most locals know, Brookshires has recently updated this store. The upgrades look wonderful. Had a little confusion finding things, as they had relocated most items to different isles. But that’s ok. I’m getting used to the new look. And thanks again to management for keeping my special water in stock. You guys are awesome.

This Brookshires grocery store is exactly what one should expect when shopping locally for groceries. This location has vegetables, fruit, chicken, canned soup, paper towels, batteries, cup cakes, and cheese. This location allows you to check out your own groceries. No training is needed to scan the items for purchase.

I'm giving this Brookshires a two-star rating because yesterday March 31st I went to do some shopping and there were not any electric shopping carts; I was informed that all the carts were broken down and there's only one and they didn't know where it was. ..maybe with a customer

Prices very high for drinks and canned goods. Poorly stocked because of the panic buying a week ago. Good service, employees are great people. Stop price gauging. You weren't that way when there was another grocer in town!

Normally a great experience. I guess I ran too late for some of the sales. They were completely out of water I intended to purchase. Then as I checked for some of our favorite water flavorings, they were completely out of the Starburst Pink Flavoring.... Store was clean, staff was polite.

Have been using curbside pickup at Brookshires since the beginning of Coronavirus. Very satisfied with the service. The app is easy to use and the shopper is good about notifying me if something is out and suggesting subs, which is very helpful. Happy with the produce I get, which was my biggest concernI don't think I'll ever go back to shopping the old way.

10/18/2022 I was in line to check out when an associate tells me that she would get meat the self checkout. I had just had surgery on my hand and couldn't use it so I was in disbelief when she moved me to self checkout and then tells me that all I have to do is scan all my items my selfI told her that's way I was in the checkout line because I couldn't pickup any thing with my handsome then she scans my items and ten she works away and leaves me to carry my own groceries our,after getting home I noticed that she scan 2 items twice on my receipt. I dont go to work to pay the owner for me to work. Cant stand self check out. We pay enoufe for groceries to have to do it our self. Trying to git a partition up to git HEB out here. So we dont have to be stuck with stupid.

Mt. Vernon TX Brookshires is a DISASTER! Customer service is a nightmare and items being stocked are ALWAYS in the wrong place and wrong price . I have learned that even speaking to the manager gets you nowhere because I think he is oblivious to what goes on in his store. Since this Brookshire is the only store to buy groceries in our small town I now only go there if it's an EMERGENCY situation otherwise I drive the 15 mile drive to Aldis in Mt. Pleasant, TX which is way cheaper even if I do have to spend gas on a round trip of 30 miles.
