We had been driving for hours from Dallas past Amarillo and desperately wanted to eat something other than fast food. It was Sunday and most every restaurant was closed. We pulled into a Pilot truckstop parking lot and just couldn't get out. We wanted something real. Across the street, we saw the VEGA TRAVEL CENTER, a very unassuming destination within 200 feet of I-40. Craig said- the sign says Punjabi Kitchen. We smiled and knew we had arrived. We walked into a dark but well equipped Indian convenience store with maybe a dozen tables off to the right. The menu was more diverse than we expected, and our orders were both large and satisfying. Flavorful Indian in a most unlikely location. But don't take our word for it. Treat yourself- you won't be disappointed.Vegetarian options: We had Saag Paneer and chickpea Marsala. Great!

Food is very good needs more menu items but the goat curry was on point, the butter chicken was good as well along with the white rice! The Roti was good surprised me it taste like flour tortillas but it obviously is flour. Definitely recommend good prices very friendly, and don’t forget to grab a Chai Tea! Truck parking lots of it rather be here than a Pilot, loves, or petro/TA

First of all, they have love for the graveyard peeps. Being open 24 hours is just simply awesome due to the fact that there are very few options available in the wee hours of the morning out on the world interstates. Options are always limited, and the food is generally junk food. This is tastier Anna much healthier option.The service was fantastic. The young man Jagdeep Singh was very attentive and personable, and make sure we have everything we need it in a timely fashion.The food was high-quality. We opted for vegetarian snacks based off the widely varying reviews, and we will be back!! Our two samosas with tamarind chutney were hot and delicious. As was our plain paratha with dahi, chopped onions, lime and mango pickle. The chai was authentic and available in large quantities.Our affordable menu items were ready within seven minutes, during which we used the facilities and meandered the fascinating cultural shop inventory.

Great place for some good home cooked like Punjabi/Indian Food. The buffet was great with alot of veggie options. Their Fresh Rotis were simply awesome 😋😋. The owner and workers were Friendly and you could see they were actually very pleased to welcome you. Definitely going back.

You guys need Ginger garlic onion cut chop everyday.don’t make one time ginger garlic onion for 10 days because when you fried after put in fridge will be bacteria in food .make fresh wheat flour everyday.if you open 9 am .you guys need come restaurant 6 am for prepping food .if you follow this you will bussniess bigger then flying j .if you will not follow this you guys will be stay same .McDonald’s kfc they start from a village small shop .they have keep quality that’s why they are international.I hope you guys will understand it

ok.. So, what a find. the Vega truck stop has authentic Indian food. The buffet is kept fresh. The Chaptis/Roti bread are hot and fresh made per serve. The Butter chicken melts in the mouth , and dahl, and veggie dishes are superb. What a find. $11.95 per person! Amazing.

I always stop here for the Goat curry, Chicken Masala and Saag spinach paaner... grab a few orders of the fresh roti and yogurt and your set.Best Samosas on the I40 in the glass shelf by the counter...Also if your in the need for some great spices and Ghee, this is the spot. Awesome snacks and cold drinks.Everyone in here is very nice and polite. There is a small dining room if you have time ...

Those 3 little nuggets of dry chicken is all you get in their regular size order of butter chicken. To add insult to injury you have to pay for the rice as an expensive side and they stopped selling any biryani altogether. Don't waste your time and money with this dhaba, drivers.
