Rude manager brought back a package.I got in the discount section.So I knew it had to be eaten right away but upon opening the package that same day it smelled like it was turning bad.I put it out for the Stray cats. Next day brought back package and receipt was talked to very rudely. By the manager she talked down to me. She embarrassed me. She told me next time to bring back all the been a good customer there. I have never been talked to like. It was some kind of scam to get back $3 and some odd change. I was humiliated and told them when I checked out. I did buy a big ham and said this will be the last receipt. I ever get because I'm not going back there ever. I fortunately can shop wherever I choose to and I do not choose to be talked to there in that manner where I've been such a good customer. For the last 3 years. There have been other things like ice cream. That had been totally thought out and refrozen. And the whole package was crystallized. Had to throw that away. I brought that up to her that I never returned it and she said there's a big difference between ice cream and ham. She totally embarrassed me in front of everyone I don't know who the heck gives her the right to talk to people in that way but she won't talk to me that way ever again. I will never step foot in that store again.

The location is undeniably convenient, although more suitable for desperate circumstances. The meats, fruits, and vegetables on the shelves give the impression of prolonged storage, often appearing aged and unappealing. Unfortunately, their fruit consistently exhibits signs of mold, while the meat appears discolored and less than fresh.A visit to the restroom proved disheartening, as it seemed to have been neglected for years. Instead of serving its intended purpose, it appeared to be utilized more as a storage area. The lack of cleanliness was evident, creating an unpleasant experience that suggested minimal attention or maintenance.

Fast and friendly service. Always seem stocked on everything, even during the covid crisis. If it weren't for Diamonds, Van Alstyne couldn't survive. Keep up the great work!!

This store has very poor service. I have gone twice to transfer money, but they talk nonsense. The money transfer service they advertise is Western Union, which is not available now. They keep talking about how long it will take to get it. It is a shame that such a poor service market is in my area.

The meat is cheaper than Walmart!!! Lately Wal Mart has went up on there prices and Everything has Gone Up!!! Sometimes Diamonds has some reasonable prices on Steaks and pork!!! Walmart runs low on meats on busy days!!! Like the Store Employee there!!!

Thrilled to have this IGA grocery store right here in Van Alstyne. They have just about anything I need. The staff is so kind and helpful. I always go to the Diamond before driving further to shop. Perhaps the prices are slightly higher than larger chain locations, however, I am willing to pay the difference to avoid the wear and tear and gas I would be paying to travel further out of town for similar grocery items. I know I am supporting a local business that is supporting its community by offering jobs to local students and community members. So happy to be able to continue shopping local in Van Alstyne

I just moved to the area and wanted to try the local grocery store. Quite a few produce items were wilted or had mold. There were a few lunch meat packages that were expired and the cheese didn't feel cold. I will say that the staff was very friendly and helpful. I ended up sticking with the center is aisles aka prepackaged food. I would love to see this grocery store succeed and hope that they have the opportunity to to obtain better produce, meat, and dairy selections.

It's great for the quick trip if needing just a few things but it's expensive for a full trip. The produce has improved recently but it's still hit or miss. The service is always friendly and love having a local place to make trips to when we are missing an ingredient!

They are well stocked, but buyer beware, check the dates on EVERYTHING!!! You could buy old canned food, cereal... Other than that, the place could use some updating, and a deep clean, but in a pinch it works. Staff is friendly, and they will help you out to your car ( I have seen them do it for others!)

I usually love this store....but today I was really offended by an employee...i forgot I had buns in my basket and smooshed them when the cashier pulled them out (my cashier was great) she said uh oh u smooshed these just grab some new ones do t worry about it...I said okay....i had grabbed the wrong car do I ran out to get the other then went in paid and grabbed new buns. Then I hear the other cashier say " she should have paid that lady smashed her own buns" I said I would have just as well paid for 2..i never asked to replace for free.

After hearing over your speakers every minute or two that Employees AND Customers were required to wear masks, I will not be returning after overhearing an employee who Was Not wearing one reply "I don't care" when another customer inquired why he was not.If you cannot expect your employees to have better respect for customers than that, I can shop where my business is better appreciated.

We shop here a couple of times a month when we are in Van Alstyne or to avoid the trip to Sherman. It's a pretty nice little grocery with fresh produce and very fair prices. This week we found meat on sale and bought a variety of breads. For us, there is no reason not to return to this store a couple of times a month.

I went for prepackaged meat and found that majority of their lunch meat of different kinds were either 1 day or 2days from expiration or liquid creamer for coffee had expired dates. Need to be very careful when buying perishable items.

For such a "small historic town" this is a cute and pretty well stocked grocery store. It reminds me of neighborhood grocery stores when everyone knew everybody and your family in my childhood days. I also APPRECIATE that It does NOT have Self-Checkout lanes. I DESPISE those because they took away somebody's job(s) away with benefits and does NOT LOWER the PRICE for the CUSTOMER WHO DOES THEIR OWN WORK! It It makes you realize how Wal-mart, Target, Whole Foods & Trader Joe's have DESTROYED the "American Family" fabric part of daily or weekly friendly, close-knit shopping.

It's really hard to find things at this store Everytime you go something is in different place! Last time I was there I bought little Debbie's honey buns and they had mold n them alot of mold! Other then that great people and stalk boys had to bag my own groceries this time! I used to grype about prices but hey! It's closer then going to sherman

Nice local store a little on the pricy side but they said there is an app that can help you save money. Very easy to get in and out and park in front vs having to go to Walmart and park far away and walk a long distance and wait in long lines just for a bag of salad.
