We happened upon MJ’s on our way to Lost Maples, and we’re so glad we decided to stop for a bite to eat. Our burgers, hot dog and fries were delicious, and the macaroni salad… soooooooo good!!

The food / service are good; however, it all pales in comparison...to picnicing in the midst of the Sabinal River Canyons; surrounded by misty mountains, amazing herds of wild deer and teeny tiny mountain flowers that pop out right after any amount of rainVegetarian options: Some days avocadoes are available at the Utopia General Store and you or Mary Jo can add a side for a good meal in paradiseParking: Enen during the many crafts personages gatherings or occasional live music, Mary Jo's has parking.

I had a hot dog with onions, dill relish and mustard, fries and a strawberry shake. My wife had a coney all the way and onion rings. Everything was fresh and prepared after we ordered. The ladies were very friendly and we got our food in a few minutes. Everything was very good, we didn't leave a crumb. And the scenery is some of the most spectacular in Texas - very tall hills on all sides (basically mountains), and a very pretty stretch of the Sabinal river behind the grounds. Will be back the next time we're in the area.

Life just doesn’t get much better than this. Our visit was a piece of heaven.What could be better than sitting under oak trees on picnic tables in a stunningly gorgeous area and eating delicious food on a beautiful spring day? And the drive to get here wasn’t half bad either with the wildflowers in bloom!We set out from Kerrville to eat here on Sunday. We had the nachos (The proprietor made the fully loaded nachos without meat for us), onion rings, potato salad, and chocolate milk shake. I’ve eaten and appreciated a lot of potato salad in my nearly six decades on this earth, and hers was unique and fantastic – made from her mother’s recipe as she told us. I highly recommend the trek to this little piece of heaven out in the middle of nowhere. 😊

This is OUR spot for lunch during our weekend rides. They are always very friendly, they have super good macaroni salad (very different than the usual), homemade buns and patties for the burgers, and a bunch more. This is a good spot to stop anyway for a (clean) bathroom break and some snacks at the store. They really do a good job here, happy to support them!Update 7 Mar 21: We tried the new steak sandwich today... it was fantastic... and don't forget the excellent macaroni salad!

MJ is a sweetheart amongst food truck owners! Ask and you shall receive, she will cook your steak or burger as requested!Had a amazing Medium Rare Ribeye steak, with Fried Shrimp and Mushrooms , enjoyed eating out on the picnic tables under the shade of the Beautiful oak trees. She is a hard working owner operator and happy to support her all I can. Great Hamburgers and friendly country atmosphere and service! Call her ahead to check on closing time these vary sometimes due to weather and other things life throws at you when running a business solo!!!

Wow what a place! Stayed at the rv park recently and found this place. Food was really good. Steak and shrimp Friday, coney dog, onion rings, and a cinnamon roll were all top notch. Thank you for the tasty food MJ!!
