The time was 5:40 pm when I pulled up to Tony's. There was not much movement in Turkey, TX when I drove through. Most stores were closed but there were two pick-ups parked in front of the cafe. I was hungry. I pulled up to the curb, got out, and went inside. The owner and his wife were sitting at a table inside. There were no others dining at this time. They warmly welcomed me, offered a drink and took my order. I wasn't hungry so ordered a cheeseburger and fries. While waiting for my meal, I looked around the restaurant and observed the art on the walls, the encouraging quotes including "eat-pray-love". My meal was brought out, hot and delicious. The fries were wonderful, crispy! They use chopped lettuce. But they make it as ordered. Portion size was just right, not too much. I dislike huge plates of food. Another couple came in and sat next to the window. Some of tables seated 6-8 so I thought that the restaurant must get some good business. Service was excellent and cost....well, it is what it is. Everything cost a bit more these days and Tony's is about the same as many others along the road. Recommended? YES!

Cute little place. Food was good. Had the #13...taco, relleno, and enchilada. Finished it off with an ice cream cone. 👍

This place is wonderful! The chips and salsa were amazing, and the burger was great too!!!! The service was 10000/10 and the couple who owns this place was the best! Definitely recommend this stop!

Tony's ice cream shop is way more than that! The food here is fantastic, authentic mexican food at it's best. Then there's the ice cream or fried fruit pies. The couple who run the place are very welcoming. I'll be back!

この辺りを車で走っていてランチも食べ損ねていたし、お腹が空いたので立ち寄った。時間は4:15pくらいでどこも開いていなったが、このお店はオープンと表示されていた。この辺りは町と町を繋ぐ長い道が続き、ここを逃すとつぎはいつになるやら、ということでこちらに入店。店の前が駐車場らしい。中に入ると、店主と思われる60歳くらいのおじさまが一人で新聞を読んでおり、店主らしき人「何かようかい？」いや、ここレストランだし笑私「食事がしたいです」店主らしき人「腹ぺこなのかい？」私「はい、何か食べたいです」店主らしき人「いいよ、座りな！」そして店主らしき人は注文を聞き、キッチンに入っていった。そして調理の音。ああ、あなたが作るのね……ちょっと戸惑ったが、席に座りメニューを見てエンチラーダスとグリルドチキンサンドイッチを注文。誰一人、客がいないし、失敗したかなーーと思ったけどもはや失敗も何もない。下手したら何も食べられないかもなので、それよりマシだろうと自分に言い聞かせる。無料のチップスを食べながら待っていると、4:30pを過ぎた頃からぞろぞろローカルのお客さんが入ってきて、あっという間に満席に。こちらこの辺りでは人気のあるお店だったようだ。料理は本格的でとても美味しかった。失礼ながらちょっと驚いた。タコスもさることながら、チキンはグリルの香りもよく美味しかった。量もかなりあったのだが、というかものすごい量だったのだが、せっかく作ってもらったしほぼ完食すると店主は一段落してホールに出てきた。私のプレートを見て、「おお、ずいぶん腹ぺこだったんだな！」と私の肩を叩き笑顔で話しかけてくれた。もし次回この辺りを通りかかることがあれば、必ずこの店に立ち寄ろうと決めた。
