Hands down the best Bbq! We Absolutely love this place.Our favorite is The Poncho which is an amazing deal that is more than enough for three people. The brisket and ribs are moist and delicious, the squash and twice baked potatoes are my fave side dishes. So if you are craving some awesome bbq that hits the spot in the Taylor/Round rock area and are thinking of heading to Austin, do yourself a favor and head to Thornsdale Meat Market instead.

Went there for the BBQ, appreciated the building and many other aspects. Frank was so kind and informative, and when we couldn’t decided on which types of meat, he gave a little samples to enjoy. The overall experience, from the staff, food, tour, was all memorable. The BBQ is delicious and made with love. I would go back in a heartbeat and recommend to anyone looking for a delicious meal.

Trey and his team catered our wedding in December 2022. We could not have asked for better food or catering team. We had constant compliments all night on how it was the BEST BBQ they have EVER had, in fact we still get compliments on it to this day!!! We knew we wanted to support local, but we lucked out with some of the best food and an awesome team to serve it! Trey was great with communication leading up to the day. Thanks again Thorndale Meat Market for bringing your food and team to be a huge part of our wedding day. We will recommend you to all of our local friends and family.

OMG ! This place is amazing ! We were taking a trip to get pressed ham and stumbled upon a jewel !! The poncho plate is the thing for a family or just two and taking the rest home . We fed 4 and still had two servings left for later!! Words can't express the hospitality ! Everyone was very nice and down to earth ! check them out!!

First off, clean place with friendly service. We had a hamburger, & a cheese burger with bacon. 2 orders fries with a 7up & smart water, came out to $37. I felt the fries were chewy/stake, not crisp. The hamburgers are homemade Patty's & are juicy, but fall apart to easy. Tomato was cut to thick for my liking. The burger was huge but also had a distinct brisket flavor/hint, that I did not care for. Mondays are the day for burgers as the special, but $37 for this meal was over priced, for a subpar burger. This is a small grocery store & meat market also, that sells bbq as well.

I usually have really good things to say about the chopped beef sandwich but last Saturday while I was in town working, I had my boyfriend go pick us up a couple of chopped beef sandwiches & I was soooo disappointed. There were a ton of thick chunks of meat that were not even eatable ☹️ They were so hard & I’m guessing really old since I couldn’t even chew it. I was so disappointed & sadden becuz I was looking forward to that chopped beef sandwich after working outside sweating for hrs….****Update****Went in for a chopped beef sandwich once again & that’s how I remember this place!! 😀 It was fresh & amazing!!! Thank you!!

3.75 stars out of 5 stars.Location got plenty of parkingGreat customer service, not alot of wait for food. Clean place. Beautiful cuts of meats.Great BBQ love the brisket. Moist great smoke ring. BBQ sauce is a little watery but has a good kick. My brisket roll was in a toast bread i asked for tortilla. Crunchy pickles.Will stop again to try more.

This was the best BBQ I've ever had! The brisket melts in your mouth. It was so moist. The sides were amazing. The people who work here are so nice and friendly! We will definitely be back again!

On my way to AUS to fly back to the Philippines I wanted one last BBQ fix. I randomly stopped by this place.Now half way around the world, I look back fondly on this local joint.I grew up on Texas, not far from Thorndale. In the 1970's we would get BBQ in places just like this. Indoor picnic tables. Smells of wood smoke in the bones of the building. A country store and community center as much as meat market and resturant.For me, this was nostalgia dining. Smoked beef. Smoked pork. Not about fashion or flash. Not about getting ranked in some magazine. But about good quality. Personal care.We could have been at a church picnic. This is the BBQ you serve your family and friends. A type of BBQ that is harder to find, but worth the effort.God Bless Texas.They also have a very nice coffee mug.

The Thorndale Meat Market. This is an actual old time meat market. Fresh meat cut and sold to order and many of the same products you but in your big grocery stores. Plus they serve BBQ daily. You have to checked the pork ribs, some of the best I've ever had.

The best ribs I have had in Texas so far. Awesome people, great atmosphere, this is worth the side trip. Go out of your way for this place. I stumbled on it by accident. Too much good stuff. I wish I had gotten my review posted a while ago.

For Texas, this BBQ is shameful. Brisket was so dry we couldn't even chew it. For $50, we expected something edible. Woman who waited on us was rude to all the customers as well.

Grade S++ combo here. Best smoke turkey and burnt ends I've had. Brisket was good but the turkey and burnt ends outshines it. They were meaty, tender, and full of flavor. Mac and cheese and potato salad taste like a hug from grandma at the family cookout. 10/5 go get ya some.

Absolutely great BBQ! We had the lean brisket, which was still quite juicy, and Boudain sausage. The jalapeño poppers were wrapped with their own bacon and was the best I’ve ever tasted. We’ll worth the 45 min drive to Thorndale from Round Rock!

The pork loin is awesome!As of 2022 the Friday special is a 2 meat plate with 2 sides for $12. They give you about a pound of meat too. If you’re driving by it’s worth the stop.

Trey and his team were awesome to work with...when I looked at BBQ caterers in the area I went off reviews, recommendations and talking to each caterer. As my family can tell you, hands down Trey made you feel as if you were talking to your best friend, he wanted your event not only to be successful but memorable. BBQ just ok. Sausage needs some spice. Sauce too sweet. Lady that waited on us not very friendly. Stools at table were too high. I will drive on to Louie Muller's next trip.

The flavor of the brisket & sausage is superb! They were both juicy and perfect smokiness. The chicken and turkey were under cooked, which was very disappointing bcuz we had to air fry it at home and make gumbo out of a whole pound. Otherwise it would have been thrown away. Overall, the flavor of all the meats was very good. Under cooked poultry will keep me away.

We ordered "chopped beef" sandwiches. I have no idea what we were given, but it wasn't food.They should be ashamed of themselves for selling this. $10 a piece and it was the greasiest, nasties, and soggiest "sandwich" I have ever eaten. Whoever is responsible for this offensive, poor excuse for food should retire, stop attempting to prepare food, go back to California.The wrapper was completely soaked in grease, the bun was an orange color, and grease was pooling in the bottom of the container.Shame on you. Gross. Rip off. Someone needs to contact the the health department.

Simply put it’s just not good BBQ, I wouldn’t call it decent either. I’ve had BBQ all over Texas. Customer service isn’t there either.Undercooked, flavorless I’m leaving with an upset stomach.I can’t recommend a friend stop here.

The store is clean and all employees are friendly.The BBQ pit master and owner was very friendly and informative.My son, Colt, and I have eaten BBQ in a hundred places in Texas and Thorndale’s servers the BEST in house sausage we have ever had!!! Ten stars would not be enough stars for their sausage.From Dallas to Lockhart you can’t even come remotely close to matching their sausage!!!
