I live close to the market and it's so nice to have a full grocery store right in the neighborhood. People are so friendly and make shopping a pleasant experience. They have everything you need plus much more. Fresh homemade Mexican cookies and always something good to eat from the deli. It's always a pleasure to shop at Food Rite !!!

They have great cuts of meat that are cheaper than HEB and you get more. Produce can be pricey if you're not buying it during the newspaper promo. They also have a great selection of Hispanic snacks and baked goods that the other grocery stores in the area typically don't have. I will always be coming here for the cheap meat and bread.

So this store is not very nice at all and most of the items are over priced. They really don't have a big selection of anything. Also most of the cold coolers are not even working anymore. Now with that said this place has a awesome meat market. The sausage is unbelievable. The boudain is on point and you can't go wrong. Also they have lunch that is amazing. The boudain balls for lunch are a must but if you don't get there early you won't get any. If the meat market was separate I would give them 5 star.

This is the absolute best place to get sausage, and boudin.I’ve been all over the states, and have not found better. Im extremely fortunate to live near this place. My family and friends stand behind this store.I will literally get every flavor of sausage and every flavor of boudin. My family in Huntsville Tx will ask me to bring some up there for them to enjoy. You simply cannot beat it!

We appreciate having this store in otherwise food-desert La Marque!Good offerings in their meat market including tasty prepared foods, homemade sausage, stuffed chops and chickens...Boudin varieties so good our son stocks up when he's here on 40-50 links to take back to Austin with him.Fair selection and convenient to local shoppers.

The grocery store is small and has all your basics, but the meat counter is AMAZING! Best boudin around, really good stuffed hens and pork loin, great sausages, even the head cheese is good. I'm enjoying the venison sausage right now!

Their prices are expensive. They take advantage of the fact they are the only grocer easily accessible unless you drive to HEB or Kroger in TXC.

Minus 1 star for being masks nazis.Fantastic selection of great sausage!Very nice BBQ selection...charcoal, etc.Horrible beer selection.Store is well stocked and clean. Prices are good. Staff is nice. Watch your 6 in this area...not too safe outside.

A little pricey but that’s to be expected. The meat is great and so is the produce for the most part. Staff is friendly and helpful if needed. I love that they’re open on holidays because it seems like no matter how prepared you are, you always forget something!

I like shopping at Food Rite. It is clean, well stocked, some specialty items.. They have a great meat market and work with you on specialty orders. You won't find the lowest prices here because it is not a big box store. They do have a deli area, and tables to eat there if you want. Good choice of produce and good sales each week. I recommend it, and there is a donut shop nearby and a Subway. Several bus lines stop in their parking lot. Near Hwy 3 and 1765.

It's an older, small store that doesn't have much selection. But, it always seems clean. Needs to address all of the panhandling that occurs just outside the doors.

If your from out of town and want to sound like you know your way around definitely stop here and get the essentials. (Boudin and the dirty rice for the win!)

I LOVE this store, they have stuff that you cannot buy at other stores. There's always a good selection of oxtail & there's usually always rabbit for some great dumping stew. SO we're very happy with the store they're always precooked lunch plates being served or you can buy stuffed pork chops, quail or freshly made boudin. All of it is just great!

I highly advise anyone to not buy food from here especially if ur hungry and need your money , I bought some sandwich bread and in the middle of eating my sandwich I realized I was eating mold and then I checked the other slices , each bread slice had mold , the Borden cheese I bought had no expiration date and was the worst tasting thing I’ve ever eaten , luckily I didn’t go with car otherwise I would of picked up a trunk full of garbage.Ps. Most of these good rating comments are extremely biased and are by people who either work there or are trying to work there , no real person writes a review on why their experience at a grocery store was so great

The place is nasty. It stinks and it's dirty and I would never eat anything that comes from this giant health department nightmare. The owner is rude and the place itself is in the middle of a ghetto. There's always bunch of thugs hanging around in the parking lot and I did not feel safe at all when I had to go there for some medicine for my child, who, incidentally, got his bike stolen from right in front of their doors when he went with some friends to get a soda a few days before Christmas. From now on, I think I'll just jump in the car and drive over to Kroger or HEB. They both have better prices, they're clean, and I don't fear for my life when I walk across their parking lots.

The store was clean, the employees were friendly and helpful. Of course they do not carry as much as a large chain store, but they carry familiar brands with a nice lunch counter also. They have lots of link sausage in their meat case that seemed to be made in store. I'm going to give it a try the next time I'm in. Their frozen section is well stocked along with the refrigerated section. Plenty of bread, milk, eggs and most anything else you might need. If you are in the area give a try. Try to ignore the occasional pan handlers.

Not my favorite grocery store. Definitely try not to shop here if I can help it. Roaches have been found in meat packs and produce is never fresh. Smells bad inside and the traffic surrounding the store isn't the "safest".

It is the closest grocery store to my home, so it is more convenient as far as distance. However, many times I go to other grocery stores because this one overprices most items, the bakery is not fresh, and the customer service is horrible. I have checked out several times without a "hello", "your total is", or even eye contact. It is not good when you have to make a cashier speak to you. If you have a little bit more gas and are not tired go a little further down the road.

For a small little Supermarket their prices are a little higher than usuall, there is no variety, and homeless people acting like they have known you your whole life and then asking you for money inside the store. Only reason I gave it three stars is for the nice staff and good customer service

My first time shopping at food rite market. The meat was very good prices and the store was very clean. Only thing that I don't like was that didn't have my grapefruit 😏but other thank that I would go back..
