I bought a ferret from them today and I named her Ruby! She is the sweetest thing ever and u could tell the woman working in there really cared about her! All the animals there are well cared for and the employees are very friendly!

I do not recommed going to this place because they die so easily. When we walked in 3 fish was already dead in a bowl and a bunny was sit when I wanted to get it. I have bought 4 pets from them and they ALL died in a span of 1 year. Yes they do give you your money back or a free pet but every animal i bought from them die in the same exact way too. I don’t recommend

I've been to this "pet store" twice. First time I went in about a year ago to ask questions about birds. Specifically I wanted to understand bird husbandry. It's my limited understanding that a lot of tropical birds are highly social and have very SPECIFIC CARE REQUIREMENTS that may not be good for someone new to birds. I was basically told that "they are like any other animal in that they require time and attention. If you can't provide that then they aren't for you". Really?At this point I'm literally looking around at the store; several cooked to death iguanas, extremely dehydrated ball pythons, birds and dogs cram packed like sardines into tiny enclosures and I'm just baffled by the lack of self awareness.So I go back to the store today out of curiosity and was in there maybe five minutes. The only thing that has changed is that they have two dead savannah monitors this time. One of them looked like he's been dead in his water bowl a day or two. What the hell are they even doing with savannah monitors that are likely wild caught? They are extremely large, highly demanding species that 99% of people simply won't be able to keep alive. Jesus do some research.But what do I know about animal husbandry? I only have a rescue dog, two German shepherds, five cats, three very rare locality boa constrictors and several other reptiles and amphibians that are all quite alive and well.Stop trying to sell animals you can't keep alive and utilize that space for the dogs and birds instead so that they will be better off. There's no shame in that. Animals here are suffering because you want to be stubborn and "have variety". When really all you need to do to have a decent reputable pet store is customer service and a few happy, healthy pets.

What appears to be a tiny shop upon entry is larger with loads of pets, food, and accessories. I was cheerfully and knowledgeably guided to the purchase of my pets and the necessities for their new home. I wasn't urged to buy anything "extra" or unnecessary. An all around excellent experience.

From overpopulated cages to dead animals this place continues to amaze me on how it is open. The mammals walk around in their own feces and the smell wafts out of the cage around the store. These poor animals are forced to live and die in dirty, WAY overpopulated cages. These animals aren’t healthy- if y’all want a healthy animal please go to a reputable breeder. The older woman today was even yelling at the bird when he cooed too loud. Poor abused and neglected animals.

Dogpatch Pet Shop is absolutely fantastic! I brought my adorable dog in for a nail clipping and was amazed by the excellent service. They were efficient, and there was no waiting around. The store itself is charming and well-stocked with a wide range of pet supplies. The staff is friendly and always eager to assist. Dogpatch Pet Shop is a must-visit for all pet lovers!

Fantastic place to go if you're a novice pet owner, the employees are very knowledgable on care for all of the animals in the store.WARNING: this entire review will mostly be about their fish and aquarium supplies as thats whats important to me, and information about the store is a bit sparseThey make sure not to stock aquariums below 10 gallons (as far as i could tell), which i applaud as the big pet stores around the city won't stop you from shoving a big fish in a tiny tank.They dont stock bettas (which, upon thinking about it, makes a lot of sense as they are actively against animal mills, and bettas ARE one of the most commercially bred fish. Good on you, Dogpatch!), shrimp, and possibly snails, so if you're experienced and looking for nano tank supplies, this place might not be for you.I also did not see any aquatic plants for sale, but aquatic plant care is once again not beginner friendly.They're very tailored towards inexperienced pet owners and providing better equipment, care, and information to them.

these dogs that they are selling to the public are not well takin care of. why should there be 4 puppies in a tiny little crate and half of them are sitting there chewing on the crate or on each other? you should never let a dog chew on a crate as it can ruin there gums. it’s very sad to see them like that.

We stopped in on a whim, to have our dog's nails done. The folks here were so nice, that we will be going back every time he needs clipped. Also all the animals in the shop were so happy and chipper, that it maid you want to stay for awhile. If looking for a bird, bunny or dog stop in an check these folks out....

The owner is really good with kids. My boy had a snake and he was really good at explaining things to him and telling him things to do and not do to make the snake happy. Never have we had a problem with an animal we've got from them. PetSmart animals have always died after a few weeks of struggling to keep them alive.

Please listen when I tell you..DO NOT USE DOG PATCH! I think someone recommended paw paw patch and I made a mistake and carried mine to dog patch. My babies came out looking like they been at the crack house. I stopped the guy who brought them out in his tracks and told him they looked awful and he looks at me and says "I didn't cut em".He went back and got the lady who did and she started to explain why she couldn't do it right and I said they've been cut at other places lots of times and it never looked this bad. She didn't care. The owner was standing there and he didn't care either!

I called ahead about the rats they have. The person on the phone was polite and honest about their rats. The person suggested that I ask for Jayce when I got there. Jayce was great with information and the 1st rat I chose to hold was the sweetest lil thing I could not help but pick him. I got him for my granddaughter when she visits me. I definitly suggest Jayce if you want great, friendly customer service, information and knowledge, if your looking for a pet rat:)

Love dog patch! My mom got my puppies here as a kid and they were always super sweet! They've also made changes in the last several years that they refuse to work with puppy mills which I find amazing. They have a good selection of pets and things you need for them, and also have amazing groomers who still groom my moms dogs to this day! Just an overall amazing place to go!

I have a very shaggy Old English Sheepdog. He is kind of a grumpy old man, and he does not take kindly to being groomed. Which, sadly, is why he was such a mess when I took him for the first time to Dogpatch. I dropped my boy, Harold, off at 9am to the kindest folks; I felt truly secure leaving my baby with these folks. When they called me to pick him up-- a couple of hours before anticipated-- they let me know how good Harold was, and how much they loved him. (This is huge for an owner of a sometimes ornery pup.) When I picked him up, I nearly cried. The groomers did SUCH a wonderful job. He has never been so handsome, and I appreciate tremendously everything Dogpatch did to help us. Especially as a first time client. I live in New Orleans, but we will certainly be back for his next grooming at Dogpatch. It is worth the drive. Thank y'all so much!

Everything I have to say about this place is excellent! I have two dogs that frequently visit this place for grooming and have always found my pets in excellent condition when I return. We have a Great Pyrenees and a West Highland White Terrier both dogs are always groomed to their breeds specific hair cut. It is obvious the groomers take their time and show our pets the love and attention they deserve!I was looking up the phone number this morning to make an appointment and was shocked to see the negative reviews. Needless to say I told the staff of my concern as I was dropping our pet off and the staff grasiously allowed me to go to the back and see the conditions my pets have been kept in... I am a very picky person and saw no reason to be concerned for my pets health or well being! there was no mounds of hair or creepy crawlies anywhere is sight, in fact i found their conditions to be quite adequate and acceptable.As for the owner I have never had the pleasure of meeting them but the staff is always a reflection of the owners mindset and they have always been exceptionally nice and accomodating for all of our request. I will continue to take my pets here for years to come and i would encourage anyone looking for a great loving groomer to try the Dog patch out. I have been severly disappointed in the past with other facilities but this establishment is most defiantly not one of them!Thank you to the staff for taking such great care of our babies!

I will always be grateful to this pet store for having my Sophie Loren to adopt! It was love at first sight when I saw her. These people were housing THREE underweight female leopard geckos in ONE small tank. They sold said Leo’s to a man who had ZERO knowledge on gecko husbandry. Thank the reptile gods he messaged me to sort it all out. Shops need to be reputable and have information to keep animals healthy.

Disappointed with our recent grooming visit. My Aussie's fur on his chest is extremely choppy and uneven. Looked like i did it at home myself. Great haircuts in the past, but our Valentine's Day visit left me extremely disappointed. Last appointment was not worth the price tag

I highly recommend Dog Patch for feeder insects, supplies, fish, birds, and other small animals. I am a reptile owner and i have been to about 10 different reptile shops and Dog Patch is my third favorite place to go ( first and second are in DFW area).Their reptile supplies is on the small size, however you can order supplies. I recently did this and it was so much cheeper to get it ordered from them then the brand’s website and chewy.The biggest thing that I love about Dog Patch is their crickets are gut loaded and it is so awesome.If you take anything from this review let it be this. This is a solid 10 out of 10 and is awesome.

Last visit I actually had a great experience. Had to get a replacement Iguana and the owner was actually super nice and helpful. Just needs more puppies and options. Like pomeranian puppies would be great!

The pet shop was kinda small. The dogs were held in cages. They couldn’t even move around in. They are dogs; they need to move around. The hamster cage had a metal spin wheel. It can cause injuries. There was barely any room for the hamsters to move around. They were all together; it’s not good for hamsters to be together. They could fight and sometimes kill each other. Over all , the place was kinda sad.
