We had an amazing time on the half day trip. We went on the first run in Big Bend NP as their usual route was very shallow. It was nothing short of amazing. The guides were so incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly. You could tell they deeply love Big Bend and love sharing their knowledge. They would get just as excited about seeing things as the guests. Truly made for an amazing experience.

We had an amazing couple of days with the folks at Far Flung Outdoor! I had worked with Lexie on a custom Jeep tour leading up to our stay. She was super nice and helped with everything down to the T. Super responsive and friendly! When we checked in, it was with Bill the owner. He was super friendly and wanted to make sure your stay was enjoyable. Gave great direction about the property and info about the area. We met Chris later that afternoon that took us on our Jeep tour. We had a blast! He is a plethora of information and such a pleasure to chat with! We have been coming to the Big Bend area a couple times a year since 2018. It’s our 2nd home. I don’t know why it took us so long to stay here! This is by far the friendliest, most informative, and caring people you will meet that just want you to have a great time! This is what Terlingua is about! Staying here is a priority for us going forward along with our friends and family!

We checked in this afternoon. We got in a little earlier but our room was done so we were able check in a little early. All of the staff have been incredibly friendly! The room space is large. Plenty of room for my husband and I. There is a microwave and mini fridge. We don’t plan on cooking but they have grills and an ice machine right outside. We spent some time out at the pool before heading to a hike. It’s a lovely atmosphere to relax! I would recommend to any friends coming out this way.

Great experience! We originally booked just a half day river trip. Water levels were low, so they took us to the hot springs canyon. Views were beautiful, and the hot springs were too! Our guides were super friendly and gave us a lot of recommendations on other things to see/do in Big Bend. Bill, who helped us out at the front counter, was also incredibly friendly and helpful. We had no idea the property had lodging and a pool until our guides mentioned it. After Bill showed us around the property we ended up booking a room for the night! He was very attentive and made sure we were set up with everything, and was an all around joy to chat with. The room was clean and comfortable, and the pool was a great escape from the heat during the afternoon. The property is only a 15min drive from the park, is very close to the gas station, and even has a little coffee shop out front. Would highly recommend Far Flung to friends/family and will def return next time we are in the area.

Far Flung has everything you need for a VIP Big Bend Experience. From amazing guides, access to all of the best spots in the parks, clean Casitas and even a pool + Hot tub you can't beat the accommodations. With a coffee shop, fresh pastries and kolaches, everything is already on the property. They can also host large groups in their centrally located meeting space that includes a kitchen. Cant wait to stay with them again soon!

This resort is such a little gem tucked away in Big Bend! I have been recommending it to everyone. The cabins are roomy, super clean, well appointed and just perfect for the environment. They have an actual coffee shop that opens up at 7 AM with delicious pastries and coffee. Every evening there is a fire pit that runs for hours. There’s a pool & hot tub. The grounds are beautiful and the people are so friendly. It was absolutely perfect, the only thing wrong with our trip is we didn’t get to spend enough time in Big Bend so next time we will stay longer and we will definitely stay at the far-flung resort!!! They even have a great gift shop and I stocked up on cool tshirts and hats for Christmas presents for nearly everyone in my family! Amazing

We had an excellent ATV ride with Chris. We were lucky enough to have Chris to ourselves on our ride. He was so knowledgeable about the life and geology of the land. This ride is a must when visiting. It is officially one of our spots in the Big Bend!

Our group of 4 adults and 1 seven year old went on the half day guided canoe trip yesterday and it was Fantastic!! Not only did they lead us and follow up at the end of the group to assist in the shallow waters they also educated us on the mountain terrain history and plants and shared in a lot of laughs. It was all women who gave us the tour and loaded up the boats and gear and we were thoroughly impressed with their teamwork and knowledge and muscles 💪 Girls Rocked that trip and we all made lasting vacation memories that they will be part of. Can’t wait to go for an all day trip in a few months! Thank you, Olivia, Hanah, Anna, and Caroline you all did a magnificent job!

We didn't compare outfitter services, but I cannot imagine anyone being better. The guides are passionate about what they do and communicate extremely well. When I called to get advice on activities to book, Bill helped me walk through all the options. No rush. He seemed genuinely happy to help. Our river float and jeep tour themselves are two of the best excursions my family has ever done, and we've done some cool stuff on other trips. Facilities were very clean, and their merch was reasonably priced and cool. We learned a lot and had so much fun. I cannot recommend Far Flung enough.

Highly recommend this company. Everyone we met were very welcoming and friendly. We did the 360 tour and as we were the only 2 in the tour it felt extra special. Lauren was an excellent guide! Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic which made the tour even better.

Awesome experience with Far Flung! They really treat you well. Did a two day canoe trip down the Rio Grande and it was amazing. They handle just about everything including meals. Will definitely use them again!

Took the ATV tour with Randy. What a great time and lots of great mountain views including Mules Ears. Randy was very knowledgeable about the geography and history of the area. Your was 3 hours with 3 short breaks. Planning another trip back and want to stay at the Casitas Far Flung has. So close to Big Bend!

Far Flung is the best! We enjoyed our river trip and jeep tour so much. Their staff from office to group tours are so friendly and knowledgeable.The casitas are perfect and comfortable and the grounds are so beautifully maintained! The swimming pool/hot tub are a huge plus any time of day!

They are the best! We did a canoe trip with Brandon, who is a wealth of knowledge! He was so much fun telling us all sorts of local information (thanks Brandon). The river was low but he was very accommodating and we were the only two on that trip and they still took us out!

Special shout out to Anna and Hannah for being great guides.For those booking morning departures, there is a small walk-up coffee shop outside Far Flung that also sells breakfast pastries, kolaches, burritos, etc.

I only give 5 stars because 8 stars are not available.The service was awesome from the person on the phone to the young lady named Yes, Ma'me according to her name tag and especially to our totally awesome tour guide Lauren.Lauren was very knowledgeable, friendly and an excellent driver.Very professional in all the best ways.I highly recommend anyone to visit Far Flung Outdoor Center when in the Terlingua/ Big Bend area.

We had a GREAT time on our canoe trip with Far Flung! It started as a chilly, dreary day, but the sun broke through and turned out beautiful. Our guides were knowledgeable and fun to be with. They provided an outstanding deli buffet lunch, with some of the best salsa I had ever tasted (and I know salsa). We have used Far Flung in the past, and they continue to exceed expectations, with fun and adventure!! Yep, I'd use 'em again, any day!!!

We had the best time! We stay in a cabin one night - they are so clean, cute and well-stocked. Then we did a 2-day canoe trip with them, and it was amazing! Our guide was great, SO knowledgeable, awesome cook and very experienced. It was a great adventure and I'm so glad we did it! We will definitely recommend.

First class staff, facilities and equipment. We stayed onsite at the Casitas, and wow, so nice.Lucky to have the river level high enough, to use kayaks and the guide service. Very well organized and again, they have everything to make the kayaking experience awesome.Read all the instructions the day before your trip, for great insight. I’d recommend bringing tight fitting water sandals or your oldest pair of throwaway tennis shoes, water bottle, bathing suit, quick drying shirt, hat, suntan lotion, waterproof phone case, and crew tip money in a plastic sandwich bag.Thank you Adriana and all the staff from Far Flung.

Very professional. Easy to work with. Guides were cool people (Brandon, Liz and Caroline), but I'm not much of a canoe person, and they made my wife and I feel very comfortable.The lunch was not elegant, but was fun and delicious. The far flung employees love the park, and treat it well, from their easy driving style, park knowledge and effort to take out every scrap of trash back out of the park.Would definitely recommend.

Awesome jeep tour to ghost mining town in Big Bend Ranch State Park. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about flora and area history and very friendly. This was an excellent introduction to to the Big Bend area. I highly recommend this trip.

We had did a day canoe trip that was peaceful and beautiful in the park. We left early so we were some of the first on the water. We saw many wild animals and beautiful views. On top of that we had Kate who was a fantastic guide that made the trip so interesting and she served us a fresh and lovely lunch. I recommend asking for Kate and doing a day trip here.

Probably the best Jeep Tour we have ever been on! Tour Guide Randy was amazing! As we booked a Sunday morning half day tour right after the busy spring break, we had a private tour sort of as know one else showed up!Be ready to make several stops in the park and Randy was very knowledgeable and discussed many plants, which my girlfriend loved. The stop for lunch was soo awesome and I was full as a tick when done! Be ready to cover numerous miles in the park and well worth the money.

Great trip. We did 1/2 day on the river. You leave about 8AM from the place. You’re on the water for two hours canoeing. Then head back to the place. The guide was very knowledgeable on Big Bend’s history and the whole area. The guides were great. Anytime we got stuck (which was a lot due to shallow water) they got out and would move us back to flowing water.There is also a great little coffee shop here.

What a great birthday experience. My partner Philip and I did the half-day river trip. If only we could come out every year and do a longer run. Special shoutout to our guides Billy, Sierra, and Jeremy. The Mexican wildlife along the way was also a vibe.

Big Bend National Park has been on my bucket list for several years. We spent 4 1/2 days in the area. The Far Flung casitas were fantastic as our base camp for five nights. They are well-equipped, picture-perfect cute, and well taken care of. We also used the Outdoor Center and its staff for an all-day Jeep Tour (Randy was great as our guide) and an all-day river cruise (Carlie and Brandon kept us safe and on track for that trip - thanks to them). I will recommend this facility to anyone visiting this area. We tremendously enjoyed visiting Big Bend and Far Flung played a important part in it.
