my boyfriend & i stayed in a single room during spring break. it was perfect. a great place to rest & clean up after enjoying big bend, study butte, & terlingua. we did our research and brought our own coffee maker but there are great spots in town for coffee. the bed was comfy, the shower was hot, & the location was perfect. the staff + floyd were kind & helpful. i can’t wait to come back!

Rustic cozy cabins with three beds to a room! Kitchenettes are fully stocked with pots, pans, silverware & a full-size fridge. The restrooms are typical of this area, no flushing toilet paper. Welcome to the Chihuahuan Desert! Towels & sheets were very clean. Shower had surprisingly great water pressure. Very cute motel & perfectly central to Terlingua, Big Bend & more.

It's straight up.... like walking into 1975 but clean! No fridge, but we travel with a cooler. TV had 3 cable channels. I felt blessed. The A.C. and heat work great! Warm showers. Double rooms could definitely use a microwave. There is a picnic table and grill. Front desk was nice. Floors creak. . poor guy next to us had to hear me walk everytime I went to the restroom at night. Close to the Big Bend Entrance. Basic room that looks like 1975 ...that has the basics.

We stayed in an efficiency. Bed was comfortable. Shower had hot water. AC and heat worked.. Units are set far back from the road so it was nice and quiet. It was more than satisfactory for what we paid. Heads up... you can't flush toilet paper here due to their septic system but they do have metal trash cans with lids which keeps odors contained.

Is it the four seasons? No. Is it perfect for the true big bend experience? Absolutely. The price is right, the location is perfect. AC works well and the beds are comfortable after a day of hiking. We’ve stayed here multiple times over the last 10 years, and I wouldn’t use a different hotel for staying anywhere nearby.

Decent motel if you know what to expect. Old rooms but didn't have any problem with them. Beds are better than I expected, comfortable enough for our stay. Like other places in the area, you cannot flush toilet paper. Wifi is mostly nonexistent unless you're right next to the office, but that didn't bother me since I knew that going in. Didn't have any problems with the staff but also only talked to them once. I'm not sure if room cleaning is supposed to be daily, but our room was never cleaned. Shower/tub is on the small side but not bad. We had one of the regular two bed rooms.

I stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting Big Bend NP.I stayed in room 22 and it was big enough for 2 people. Its a basic motel.Like several other people mentioned, you can’t flush toilet paper. My room had no coffee machine or tv. For 3 nights, we got 2 towels for 2 people. The wifi was very poor.On positive side, staffs were very friendly and they let us change our stay days.

Friendly staff. Great place for authentic lodging. Reminiscent of a country lodge from 50 years ago. I was disappointed that the house we rented for $200 a night had a sign to not flush toilet paper. The road to the house practically required four wheel drive with a narrow entrance and steep sides up a steep incline. It was scary going up at night for the first time.

Very cozy cabin. Inside there was enough bedding five. With a kitchen net that had plates, coffee cups glasses., Utensils and cooking needs. A nice size refrigerator and needs to make an enjoyable stay. And the Staff was friendly. There are also rooms you can stay in if you prefer the normal motel experience. Would stay here again and would suggest it to friends and family.

This was a very pleasant two day stay at Terlingua. I see a lot of people complaining about the rooms being overpriced. What you don’t realize is that this place is located in an area where there is absolutely nothing. And yet they have all the amenities one can need. It’s not meant to be a luxury stay but it’s supposed to give you all the amenities but in a desert. Now how convenient is that.During our stay we had no issues with whatsoever. The rooms were clean and spacious enough. The beds were comfortable. Also thanks to Casey for letting us book such last minute and being such an amazing person. Thank you!! Would recommend this place 10/10.

We booked a simple room away from the office. Clean, comfy bed. Hot shower with good pressure. Great view out our window. We had a public grill and picnic table at the end of our building, which was a great spot to meet and make friends with the fellow travellers. The views of the stars were out of this world! This is the desert, not a chain hotel in the suburbs. If you want wifi, you have to walk up near the office to connect (or get a room near it). But being disconnected allows you to focus on the people around you and the scenery. The basic rooms don't have TV/fridge/microwave, but you can bring a method to heat food (charcoal for the grill or a camp stove are both allowed). I'm not sure what amenities are in the rooms near the office (I saw a TV) or the cabins. If you're a hiker for Big Bend and you want to have a nice base camp to come back to, this is a great place. The owners are friendly and helpful, and they even include "purple towels" which are OK to stain and use for your hiking boots/bike etc. And the views are just amazing.

We stayed here recently and really enjoyed it. We'd originally booked a hotel room, but once we got there the cabins were so cool we ended up upgrading to one of them instead. The place is older but really cute, and all the cabins are painted up in bright pastel colors which makes them look great on the desert landscape. The cabin itself was fairly basic and extremely clean. The full kitchen was a nice addition, and saved us a lot of money on our vacation. As far as location goes, it's perfect - close enough to the Terlingua Ghost Town to be convenient, but also close to Study Butte and Big Bend National Park. The price is really competitive compared to other places we looked at in the area as well. We'll definitely be staying here next time we're in town.

OK Place like any MOTEL their rooms are outdated, AC was a bit noisy, room was not cleaned well and old soap was on shower and vanity. It could be a great place if it were updated. I stayed in $110 rooms that are 100% better than this one, but there is not much in this area. Need to invest in the place for sure! The attendant was super nice.

Friendly staff, wonderful experience booking over the phone and easy check in process. Awesome/Perfect location near Big Bend. Booked the economy room and it was what I expected. Bed, shower, toilet.Things to know: Bring your own shampoo, conditioners, and body wash/bath soap. Bring a hair dryer if you need that sort of thing. The hot water is extra hot, have the cold water on with it. And lastly, the walls are paper thin, you will definitely hear your neighbors and they will hear you.TL;DRExcellent Location and Price. Friendly helpful staff.

We have stayed here approximately 6 times in the last 3 years and we have always appreciated the reasonable pricing, reliable air conditioning and cleanliness of the rooms. There are amazing night skies and fun chats with the other guests over a beer. For the price and location, this is a great value.

The 1 star isn't for the motel but for the lack of customer service. We didn't make it in the front door because we didn't feel safe. At 8pm, the lobby was locked, the lights were out and there was no one in the lobby. Only 1 dim light was lit on the porch and 1 light in the parking lot. Room key was taped to the front door along with a few others. When I called the night manager to discuss my concerns over the lack of light, she laughed at me. I asked for a refund because we didn't feel safe. She refused, laughed again and said it wasn't their fault we were too chicken to stay there. I was insulted enough so we left and stayed somewhere else.

Good and simple lodging for a good price! It can be hard to find accommodations for a group in Terlingua, especially in peak season, but this place is very flexible about extending/shortening your reservations and offering you a good stay! The lady at the front desk said she was new to town but was wonderful. Provided maps and told us where we could find dinner around the area. Plus the gift shop is worth a visit if you're interested in rocks and minerals but don't want to pay extortative prices in Marfa. (It has a little bathroom which might be a lifesaver if you are stuck on the road.)We rolled in well before check in time, had our check in questions answered (4-8pm with late check in for no fuss!) and were able to swing back in the evening to collapse in our rooms after a big bend hike. Accommodations are simple and everything you really need: clean comfortable beds, water that was nice and hot, a shower/tub, with a tv that admittedly had only a few channels and no wifi. Data is spotty but if you want internet connectivity, don't visit one of America's most remote parks! They provide freshly washed towels, washcloths, and tp for each guest and were perfectly fine with 4 people in one double. The beds were full size and there was plenty of room for our twin air mattress. It's a bargain for a group stay so enjoy the simple surroundings and enjoy!

My girlfriend books a lot of motels but I booked this one. She was not looking forward to the room I selected but after we stayed there she came to love it. We had an economy room and we were very secluded. We explored a little on the grounds. They have wifi but I couldn't really get it to work in the room or on the porch. The shower head was below my chin, but perfect for her. We had a bag of snacks that we believe the cleaning person mistook for trash.

We stayed in 2 bedroom cabin. It is unique for the motel, the largest accommodation to my knowledge. It ha pretty big living room combined with a kitchen and 2 bedrooms. The kitchen is pretty well equipped with utensils, has a big fridge, microwave, propane stove etc. The window ACs are in every room. The rustic and outdated appearance was expected. Less expected downside was absense of room service, mb related to covid.

This place is old and rustic but for the price is reasonably good. We stay each year en route to Big Bend Ranch State Park, which is not a place to arrive after dark. They are dog- friendly and if you are coming in here after your camping or river trip no need to worry about being too dirty for civilization. Nice covered porches. We've never stayed in the cabins but they look nice. If you like the Ghost Town hubbub there are plenty of places there at 2 to 3x the price. We like it here.

Stayed five nights in one of the motel rooms; very happy with our stay! Room was clean, cool, simple and quiet and decor was nice. Motel is very close to Big Bend (10 min drive) as well as most nearby restaurants (5-10 min). Wifi not at all necessary; enjoy the park, the town and the stars.

The place was in a great location to Big Bend National Park and Terlingua. The cabin we stayed in was ok, but could certainly stand to be remodeled. Still has old paneling and the kitchen was pretty out of date. However, it had two air conditioners that kept the place cool, which is a must in that part of the country and all the facilities worked well. Equipped with fridge, microwave, etc. The people working there were very nice and helpful. It is also affordable. Rates were reasonable for what you get. I can see myself staying there again if I am ever back in the area.

The woman at the counter (wish I had gotten her name) is a gem! She was quite friendly and took the time to make us feel comfortable, giving us lots of local recommendations. She also promoted a "labyrinth" near the motel that was built by a local artist. Though we did not have time to check that out, I appreciated the quirky "easter egg". They had availability, reasonably priced compared to the other expensive lodging in the area, and were accommodating to my last-minute reservation. The place itself is a bit on the older side. I was told there would be no fridge, microwave, or TV in our room, which I was fine with. The employee confirmed there was WiFi over the phone, however upon further inspection of the website (after the office closed), we discovered that there was only WiFi in the motel office and OUTSIDE of the rooms due to the metal roofing inference apparently..... This was not ideal and the price could've been lower for the lack of amenities/bare necessities of the room.Be careful of the shower pipe - it can get hot and burn you! It's also on the smaller/shorter side (look out tall people) and doesn't have very good water pressure.All-in-all, you get what you pay for and again- the woman at the counter is the real start here!

No coffee maker, fridge or microwave no wi-fi we could join, 3 channels on tv. Almost anything better in area. Will never stay here in future even if costs more. Likely a reason we appear to be the only guests here. Better than camping but not much else. Out in Big Bend last 40 years and you would think I would learn. You pay for quality and get what you pay for.
