This is a cute little motel in a decent location outside of Big Bend parks. If you go here expecting a 5-star hotel, you will be disappointed. We had an updated room (pics were taken at the end of our 2-night stay) that was much better than we were expecting based on previous reviews. The motel had cute little fire tables with outdoor sofas, a grilling area if you brought your own, and a gas station/restaurant next door. The rooms were clean and had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The only negatives were that the window in my room couldn't lock and that the beds were HARD. Bring some kind of mattress topper if you can't sleep on extra firm beds.Rooms: The beds were hard. Our room was updated and clean.Safety: The hotel felt safe. Our window lock was broken.Food & drinks: The restaurant next door is very basic, but good enough for breakfast before leaving town. The French toast was good.

This is the place to stay while visiting Big Ben NP it's about 35 miles to Visitors Center to check in. The rooms were better then I expected and reviewed. Queen beds are firm, close to 50" TV, hot water after it warms up, fridge/microwave. If you plan on reading after dark the lamps are useless, sitting on tiny short night stands. Room was decorated. Wish there was a patio and chairs out front. Prices not cheap. We paid 332.00 2 nights with taxes.Needs kleenex and more towels.Staff were very welcoming and caring. No check in until 4pm, no exceptions! That's the way they run! Over 32 rooms.Great views of Chisos mountains.Rooms: Rooms GOOD, CLEAN...needs better lighting to read after dark. No patio.Nearby activities: Room close to Big Ben NP...only reason to be here.

Convenient to Big Bend. Small sites, barely enough water pressure to take a shower. The sewer pipes are all about 8 inches above grade, making it almost impossible to get enough pitch to properly drain. Our site was directly behind the restaurant where deliveries are made very early in the morning. Too many other camping resorts to try before we would stay here again.

Obviously, everything in Terlingua is going to be dusty and the RV Park here definitely is. We visited during peak Spring Break season so the park was crowded, but that was to be expected too.Even allowing for those things which are outside the owners' control, we did not have a great experience. They had overbooked for the type of site we reserved, the park is visually unappealing, and depending upon wind direction, you may get the aromas from the next-door horseback tour operator. On the upside, the location is convenient to the Nat Park, and all the RV hookups were functional.I'll probably experiment with other parks for future trips, but this place is fine if your expectations are properly set going in.

Ok, we stayed here on our visit to Big Bend national park, we tried to get a spot in Rio Grande Village, you have to contact the vendor and book. Well, nothing in the park, so the vendor sent us here.Honestly, we should have canceled. The front desk was helpful for the most part, but we did have to change sites, no big deal. Now about the campground, in a word, disappointing, not well marked or maintained, uneven, the bathroom was not very clean. Be aware they charge $2 in quarters for a 6 minute shower. If you want rustic this place is alright. We saw other options in and around Terlingua, we will be staying somewhere different when we return. The location is good, but the pictures on the website are a little inaccurate.

Did the FHU Campground. Wi-Fi was only existant if u were in the office basically. Dusty gravel lots & driveway between lots. Very few shade trees. OK 4 one or 2 nights. I'm spoiled since I'm from Michigan & used 2 beautifull green shade tree loaded campgrounds.

Friendly staff. Free wifi. Rooms absolutely OK for this destination. AC worked perfectly and didn't have any odors. It's very near to the park entrance.I recommend eating outside. The small coffe shop and Rusic Iron BBQ is highly recommended for breakfast and dinner. The groceries store 1 mile down the road on the right is good for getting things for lunch.

Although listed as a "resort", it is basically a big, dusty lot with hook ups. Some, but not much shade is available. Laundry has limited hours. Be aware that many pre-paid mobile plans do not have coverage anywhere within a 100 miles of Big Bend. That said, it does appear to be one of the better places to stay in an RV in the area.Nearby activities: Big Bend national park is a few miles down the road. Terlingua ghost town is two miles away.

We stayed here for several nights in the rv park. We have our own restrooms and shower in our rv but I thought it was strange that they charge extra for the use of their restrooms and a coin operated shower. The water pressure was at 20 psi while we were there. 20 psi is too low to take a shower or wash dishes. So I slowly filled our freshwater tank and we used our onboard water pump to have the proper water pressure for the rv. The last day we were there, they informed us that they were shutting off the water for about 40 minutes to work on the pump. We left the park before the water was turned back on. Other than that our stay was pleasant.Nearby activities: Just 3 miles from the Big Bend National Park entrance.

Worst RV park I have been to in a long time. Very unorganized and not professionally operated. When we arrived they assigned us to a site that already had occupants. It took the staff an hour to sort this out. Then they tried to charge me for an extra day because they didn't know what site we were assigned to. Lastly, when I cancelled our reservation for the return trip to avoid any further inconvenience I was told they were keeping our deposit because it was within 72hr. Very disappointed.

We drove 9 hours to get hereThis campsite is right outside of big Bend, however I would never camp here again. I really wish I had done more research and just camped inside the state park. The staff was friendly, accomadating but not very helpful with questions we had about their camp space. Our tent location was set up in the front of this camp park, near the road, instead of in the back where the bugalos/motel were , so we heard every noise that passed us by. Be prepared to breathe in lots of dust on those extra windy days. We were lucky that this weekend wasn't busy, we were the only ones in the tent section, so we we're able to be near some trees for shade. I couldn't imagine this experience to be any better had there been more people camping, there is no privacy whatsoever. You would be right next to your neighbor. There is a building right behind our camp, right in front of the road, belongs to the park, for they host events there. There was no event going on during our stay, thurs-sun but the string lights that ran around that building, was left on, night and day.I met a gentleman that was staying in park, he's planning to buy land and build his own tiny cabin camp site (we plan to check that out eventually), he said, that's strange that those lights are on, it's usually off.We asked staff on Friday morning to see if they can turn off those lights as we drove all this way to check out Big Bend and star gaze.Nothing happened, lights were left on the whole weekend we were there. We decided to pack most of our things to stay inside the park Hill til 3am just to enjoy the star gazing. It was not very convenient to do what we did, but I am grateful we were able to book and use their electric and water for sleep as we had an 11 & 6 year old with us. Heated blankets are awesome for winter camping!Next spring, I'm definitely camping inside the park.

Hardest bed we have ever encountered. Could not sleep even after two days of driving and hiking. Do not stay here! Stay in your car or get a sleeping bag and sleep on the ground!! Horrible. No dead bolt on door, no room service ever (EVER - they do not change your towels or empty the trash EVER), only two bath towels and one face towel provided in room, no chair to sit in (unless a plain piece of plywood is your thing), no chest of drawers or closet to hold clothing, one tiny trashhcan, decor looks like my very first apartment with cast offs and Pier 1 purchases....it would have been barely adequatefor three nights (running water, electricity, and a heater) if the bed were comfortable or even marginally unconcrete-like. For what you are charged you should be at a new Fairfield Inn or Marriot Hotel. Worst experience at a hotel ever! Wish I could give it NO stars. Great location but put some money into the beds! If the owners ever laid on the beds they would know how horrible they are! BAD!!!!!!!! We have stayed at this hotel years ago, but never again. I don't care how many pools or putput golf courses are installed in the future, a good night's sleep is a basic necessity. You won't get that here.

We liked the place. Just a bit pricey for where and what it is...a motel in the desert. If the lodge is full in the big bend national back, we may stay here again.Nearby activities: Several bars/restaurants around with great local bands... Moonshiners, Scott Walker... Of course Big Bend National Park is close by.

I was hoping to get Chisos Mtn Lodge but ended up getting this. This place should be called Big Bend Motel & Adventures. This no Fairfield Inn. The room is of ok size. Some parts seem to be updated. The bathroom was about 2x the size of cruise ship bathroom. The place is in Terlingua right off 118 which is a plus in some ways. It is also noisy (stayed in the main building with the lobby) for 3 nights. First night it was the nosie of the cars, the second night it was some music from neighboring venue and the 3rd night it was either fireworks or sound of some repairs that kept me awake.

Room was good not a heavy tour bike friendly areaWas on a 1000lb touring bike and they gave me a room across the street in a field full of... rock. They charge me 50 bucks just in case I break something. Yet they gave no second thought to my 40k bike getting messed up falling or crashing in a parking lot with NOTHING but big white ROCKS. Yea the room was reserved n paid months ago.Bought a huge pizza at the restaurant they have attached and was gunna finish it late... because they said we can keep it there since we had a room with them. Soon as we took off foe Big Bend the cook threw it in the TRASH. LOLJust say no... we wont keep for you.My friend stayed at one of the newer sites were they have the tent bubbles domes and they bent over BACKWARDS to make them glad they chose there sites to spend there money.NO reservation - not pre paid - They loved their CHOISE for the night.

Location is 5 miles from. Big Bend National Park and about a mile or so from the only grocery store in the area. Rooms are is need of updates. Staff was not overly welcoming. The manager lady was extremely rude. The adjacent convenience store and the only gas station for 80 miles was nice. Restrooms are located in the laundry area of the motel and RV park right behind. I would rather stay somewhere that has less rude staff and no cigarette filled ashtrays upon entering a room that was supposedly cleaned. The bed sheets were clean, but looked like a 3 year old made the bed. I will not be staying here in the future.

Camping spots were very reasonable. Only problem was they advertised laundry but wouldn't let us use it because of other guest causing problems. All I wanted to do was wash a few clothes after a long motorcycle ride. Other than having to pay $2 per 6 minutes of shower time, which was a first for me, we had a good experience. The staff was friendly and the location was convenient.

We checked in and were told we had booked a "deluxe room". Not sure what their definition of deluxe is, but it wasn't even a "moderate" room. The bathtub is filthy dirty (picture) and the rest of the room is very dated. I know that they are trying to do renovations on the place, but at $180/night, you'd expect to get something better. Also, was given a list of 30 something codes to use as the WiFi password - apparently the code changes every day and the person at the front desk couldn't tell me which one was the current one. No coffee maker or anything in the roomRooms: Better get working on those room renovations or all those other places that are doing nightly rentals will put you out of the business!
