Stayed here 2 weeks ago, and truly loved the stay here! I went with a couple of friends and we all truly loved the Black Bear suite, very spacious ! 1 queen bed plus another 2 queen bunk beds! It truly was super nice, can't wait to book another stay here! The morning/night views are just WOW. If you're considering this stay don't over think it! BOOK IT.Super clean, friendly staff, amazing views, walking distance from food/drinks!

Stayed at The Rock House which imho is the best Big Bend experience you can get. Classic trading post converted to a home with AC and all the creature comforts (even Internet). Unbelievable patio and views.Remote and private location. Room for 6 adults and 2 kids.Jennifer was the perfect host from start to finish.

Funky/kitschy place located within 20 minutes of the western entrance to Big Bend National Park. There are 2 buildings and we highly recommend you try to get a room in the Perry Mansion. This was the home of the Chisos mine owner Howard Perry. It is 2 stories and is filled to the brim with lovely appointed rooms, outdoor patios, and a beautiful common room. While the El Patron, et al. are nice, this building is fire.Walkability: You can walk to the Starlight Theater for great food and live music, or Espresso y mas for breakfast or just about anywhere in the ghost town area.

This place is one of a kind- one of my favorite hotels ever. Everything has old Texas character, from the rooms to the roads to the on site restaurant, the Starlight Theater. This is the opposite of a hotel chain, every room is unique, and the dirt roads on the hotel property are rough enough that you'll need to take them carefully if you're in something lower than an SUV. But the highlight of this place was the Starlight Theater, which has great food and great bartenders... you'll generally need a reservation to get in during high season weekends. There's also an awesome shop for local artists next door that I did a lot of Christmas shopping in.Having said that, there was no daily maid service, the front desk closes at 8pm, and there's no pool, so this isn't the place for people looking for a simple, normal hotel experience.

Smack in the middle of Terlingua Ghost Town! Fantastic views, great rates and really friendly people. The proximity to the park is fantastic. Special thanks to Jessica for the help over the phone when we had to make a last minute lodging change. The gift shop is robust, the local restaurants are great, cannot recommend any higher. We will be back!Nearby activities: Big Bend National Park!

Booked two rooms for family. Young man in shop was very courteous and check in was a breeze. Lady who I talked to on phone was also very helpful. When no event is booked, access to common kitchen and dining quarters is available, which my mom checked for us...we had our Thanksgiving dinner there. Great restaurant with live music, fyi, no reservations accepted. Only minor issue was our bed in Uh Clem room was very sqeaky. Otherwise, we would definitely recommend/return!

Stayed in the Candelilla House. This was our 2nd time to say there and loved it both times. We had privacy, but yet it was walking distance to Starlight, The Boathouse and an amazing breakfast. Our last night the city issued a boil water notice and the management notified us right away and gave us bottled water to drink.Rooms: Small but very comfy beds. Although shower house is separate and a walk up some steps. it is very nice and we even were supplied bath robes.Nearby activities: more things to do than we had time. Big Bend park took most of our timeSafety: We felt totally safe. If you have any mobility issues this house might not be for you, as the bath and shower are separate buildings and have steps.Walkability: almost everything in the Ghost Town area was walkable

As a couple in live we wanted privacy and just to get away and be ourselves. Big Bend National Park was an amazing experience. And this place put the cherries on top. A cute fully stocked kitchen, deck to sit out on to eat, rooms are clean, beds are comfy, and whoever took care of us we never seen them. Had the best time there. Easy booking and checkout , we will go back. Best three nights in a hotel.

Had a wonderful two nights in the Black Bear Suite with four people. Plenty of room and the air conditioning was modern and quiet. Separate units in each room. No old window units with loud noises. The shower was modern and worked perfectly. The location is fantastic right behind the general store in walking distance. Thanks to the owners for creating some modern yet eclectic rooms for a reasonable price in the heart of the ghost town. We will definitely book with Big Bend Holiday Hotel upon our return. After the Black Bear, we are curious to stay in the Perry Mansion.

This family run hotel with various room types in several renovated buildings was perfect for us on our BBNP visit. The host responded promptly to all our requests (extra towels, adding a second night stay, checking the mini-split unit). The Starlight Theater Restaurant & Saloon next door had great food and service.Don’t let the rough exterior dissuade you from staying here. It’s totally in keeping with quirky Terlingua Ghost Town.

We stayed in the Green Room. The bed was soo comfortable and the jacuzzi tub was everything we needed after a long hike. There were so sweet touches such as bath robes and refreshments in the mini fridge.

My son and I stayed at the Candelillia House on a motorcycle trip. The House which is owned by the hotel but is located about 200 yards away. It was a beautiful and very quiet place to stay with 2 bedrooms, functional kitchen, living room, 2 outdoor seating areas and a bathroom and shower that were located in their own buildings steps from the house. It was very tastefully decorated and blended the rustic Terlingua culture and eno0ugh comfort conveniences to make it very livable. The best part of the stay was waking up at 2:00 a.m. and going outside to look at the night sky. That alone makes the stay worth it. I highly recommend it.

The best. We initially booked one night but ended up staying three. The rooms are comfortable and their ambiance stays true to the area. In the Perry Mansion we had access to a kitchen. It was perfect. If you want to go to the Starlight, you can walk there but if you want space, you're good too. Thank you for providing a wonderful place. We can't wait to return.

Our first time to Terlingua/Big Bend and we absolutely lucked out by finding Big Bend Holiday Hotel/Perry Mansion! Our party of 4 had the Green Room & La Fonda Suite in the Mansion and couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised! The rooms are clean and well-appointed. The shareable kitchen is great and very convenient. You might think you'd hear noise from the Starlight at night, but you don't. Literally, all we heard was a coyote in the distance (and we were there over Spring Break - the busiest time of year). The staff of the Mansion, Trading Post & Starlight/cantina were all nice, friendly & helpful! Jessica, in particular, was instrumental to our experience by providing many tips and suggestions! (I was told by another staff member that Bill Ivey had rubbed off on Jessica.) THANK YOU! We will definitely be back!

Great location! Right in the Terlingua Ghost Town. Starlight restaurant is a 30 second walk. A cute breakfast restaurant a 35 second walk. Got up early for the sunrise. Room was warm! Cute little fireplace as well. The entrance to Big Bend is really close. Stop at the grocery store on the way to Big Bend. It's only one there!

Stayed in The Candelilla House...this casita is great. Very clean and spacious. Great if your looking for something that is different than your typical cookie cutter hotel/motel room. It has two double beds and a futon, small kitchen, two awesome patios(one with fire pit), and a huge bathroom with sink and toilet. The shower is in a seperate shed that is up a few steps from the main house(watch out for ghost as you walk up to it.) The location is great, right in the middle of town. Easily walk to the Starlight Cafe and store. You also get a great view of the Chisos Mountains since the house sits on a hillside. The stars are amazing from the patio. You won't be disappointed with this place.

The A/C was smooth and just exactly cool. A nice word the entire 3 nights was COOL. coolest place ever. No allergy reaction to anything in or around this wonderful Hotel. I visited the stars last night on the upstairs balcony. Too good to be true. I felt like I was in a Western Movie the entire time . It is not a Marriott resort but I believe if you are looking for a relaxing stay in an old West Ghost Town this is the place.A delightful neighborhood to visit.

We stayed in Uh Clem. The walls had food or bug juice from a previous guest. The toilet seat was falling off. The shower head which was new, was not installed correctly and leaked until we repaired it. You could see light through the holes in the front door. The entire place was a mess. No care was taken with regards to upkeep or cleaning. Bring your own hand soap and body wash because none are provided. Housekeeping does not make beds either. There was trash all over the grounds. All in all a Motel 6 would be an upgrade from this dump. For the price it is a total rip off. Do yourself a favor and look around at other places there which are kept and appeared clean.

So happy to find this quaint little hotel! Not only is it in a ghost town, it drips with character. The room amazing it really fit the whole theme of the area. The amenities were top notch from water bottles and juice to very nice soaps and lotions. If this were not enough the Restaurant and adjacent coffe breakfast place where truly delicious. I cannot speak highly enough of this place and the people here, it will be a must return for me! Such an amazing weekend.. Thanks for all you do to make it special :)

Uh Clem's Room was WONDERFUL! We loved the entire town of Terlingua and were completely satisfied with our room. The manager paid attention to every detail, including having easy access to electrical outlets. The room was clean, cool (it was August), and equipped with all of the modern necessities while holding to its old Texas charm. The bed was VERY comfortable and the shower was glorious! Hot water and great water pressure. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer.

A friend and I stayed in Casa Buena Vista for a week and loved it. This place is eclectic, charming and just downright fun. The house is located at the top of the hill. It's quiet and peaceful with a great view all the way around. LOVED the shower - the beds and pillows? Not so much. These old bones could have slept better on a decent mattress and the pillows were pretty bad, too. But everything else was a winner. I'd stay again, but I'd take an egg crate mattress topper and my own pillows. And o yeah, the Starlight Theater restaurant is wonderful! Loved that place. Their young host was very helpful and charming. And a keeper - he knew our names the second time we went!

Stayed in the Uncle Clem's Room which is conveniently located at the right end of the strip of rooms. There is a fountain there that birds drink out of during the day, which is neat if you enjoy wildlife. The first thing you'll notice is the road leading up to these rooms is unpaved, uneven and full of jagged rocks. The room itself was nice except there are few places to hang things like washed clothes after a day of sweaty hiking. The bed was compfy and the snacks came in handy. A great location to stay if you're looking to explore Big Bend National Park and Big Bend State Park.
