My boyfriend and I went today for his birthday and we had a great time! They are very sweet here, I knew nothing about riding a horse and they taught us how to saddle, use commands, etc… you can tell the horses are very well cared for. We stayed after and they were telling us about all the horses different personalities, it was an amazing experience and we will definitely be coming back to get better experience with the horses!

I don't know how Sherry does it but she gets the best horses to learn on and adopt! After only a couple of months, I am able to groom and tack a horse now by myself and am learning so much about riding. Peaceful Acres is a local treasure!

My son went last weekend. He is autistic and it is hard to find things he enjoys. The staff made us feel welcome and created this amazing atmosphere. I have genuinely never seen my son so happy. Take your family here!

Adopted Sunny from Peaceful Acres in 2019. Sherry was very honest and answered all my questions. They truly care for all the horses. She followed up after the adoption seeing if we had any questions and making sure everything was ok. I would definitely adopt from here again

I have been volunteering here for several months, have taken a few refreshers for riding, and have learned so much about training and care. I also adopted my baby Jazz! This place is amazing and I will volunteer and help for as long as they will have me! I love everyone and every horse here! Sherry is the absolute best!!

We love Peaceful Acres! We have been there numerous times and met the owners and volunteers, and they are all wonderful people with big hearts for rescuing and training horses. They not only rescue horses but also train them and teach horse care and riding.We fell in love with a mule and a horse and ended up adopting both. They have been excellent with following up to make sure everything is going well with our new additions to the family and pasture.Stop by and check em out. Take a riding class or love on some horses. You will be hard pressed to find a more genuine horse rescue and loving farm out there.

The staff at Peaceful Acres has helped me feel very comfortable and safe around all the horses. They have taught me how to take care of a horse, how to saddle a horse properly and how to ride a horse safely . All horses are well taken care of and loved. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to learn how to ride and take care of horses :)

Love Peaceful Acres. My daughter had a field trip at another farm and wanted to do horse lessons. I googled ones closer to home and found this place. So glad we did. My 10 year old daughter has thrived since she started August 5th. She is now even volunteering here. Seeing her giving back by her choice and not expecting anything in return, but getting so much joy from just helping is the purpose and she’s seeing that at this young age.Thank you to Sherry and the other trainers for their hard work on this property. The horses are well taken care of. The lessons are well done. If you want to be surrounded by horses this is a great place to volunteer and give back!!! Also if you haven’t signed up for an Amazon Smiles charity choose them. It’s fast and easy and free to do!!!

Miss Aria was fabulous with my daughter who was eager to learn and ride a horse. My daughter throughly enjoyed her time there and is looking forward to more lessons. The horses were so patient with the children and we will definitely return.

My kids have had a great experience with lessons! They were very patient with my super beginner 6 year old and my painfully quiet 12 year old 🤣 you can really tell these people all love teaching the kids and showing them their love of horses.

Took my 2 1/2 yr old granddaughter there two weeks ago for her first riding lesson. She learned how to groom the horse , clean hooves, mount the horse and how to properly sit in the saddle and hold the reigns.Her handler was sweet and patient and very supportive of her. I was so proud of her and so happy to see how much she enjoyed riding. I have already booked another lesson for her and she is so excited to go. Everyone there is amazing. Lessons are so affordable and they are truly dedicated to the horses they rescue. I would recommend Peaceful Acres Riding to anyone interested in riding .We will definitely continue going there.

AMAZING!!!!!! Took my two year old here for her first ever lesson and she absolutely FELL IN LOVE. Staff and the owner is SO SWEET and KNOWLEDGEABLE. EXTREMELY affordable, well trained horses, very well kept farm, beautiful landscape, easy to access and not far from town.DEFINITELY GO CHECK THEM OUT ASAP!!!! I will be returning with my daughter regularly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!The owner herself gave us the lesson. She was so patient, kind and educational. I was completely confident to let my daughter go off into the pasture with her and have a life changing experience riding the pony named Twinkie. Such a sweet pony too!Beautiful rescue horses with a sanctuary to be loved on. Also personally have a friend who adopted from Peaceful Acres and is so pleased with her choice.GO VISIT.

My son takes riding lessons here, but it’s so much more than that. He’s learning how to care and respect such majestic creatures. Sherry is absolutely awe inspiring! Not many people can open their homes or wallets to give these discarded animals the life they deserve. It’s obvious that loving these horses is her passion and I’m grateful for all she does. Both me and my 7 year old son have done lesson here and continue to! We absolutely love the environment and quietness! Our lessons are focused on us! I have learned so much in just the little bit of lessons I’ve had! I’m so happy we found sherry! Aria is pretty great too! And did I mention all the horse are pretty amazing too! Super friendly people, great with all temperaments of kids especially autistic children or children with learning disabilities. They have a variety of horses for different experienced Riders. I like that it is different from trail riding horses where the horses just walk in a line, with horseback riding lessons here she actually teaches you how to handle and control the horse.

Sherry, the owner, is an absolutely amazing women with not only a true heart for animals, but also a true soul for teaching. All of her horses are rescue horses that she has saved from slaughter and spent not only time, but money to rehabilitate and train to be bomb-proof horses, safe for even the most inexperienced rider. She has the patience of Job, as do her horses. Aria, the other trainer who works there, is also amazing. In the time my daughter has been riding at Peaceful Acres, not only has she learned riding, but she has also learned horsemanship. I have also seen her confidence grow, not just in her abilities with the horses, but within herself. We absolutely love Sherry and Aria and I have sent many of my coworkers to have their children train there as well.

Step back to basic horsemanship without all the gimmicks and quick fixes and that's what you get with Sherry Dotson at Peaceful Acres. No nonsense equestrian knowledge from the ground up. You learn to groom first and clean hooves before you ever hit the saddle. These fundamentals are so often overlooked but ground training is the basis for your relationship with your horse and Sherry knows it all. Then when you saddle and bridle your horse yourself (with supervision of course) Sherry will teach you each part of the equipment and what it's for. She even teaches the tots to do this and they progress so fast because of the bond they make with their horse. Now you're ready to ride. That is an experience you must go through yourself but whichever horse Sherry matches you with it will be magical. So be ready for a little ground skills learning and then the real magic starts.

Peaceful acres is an excellent place for kids to learn how to take care of the horses and ride them correctly. My daughter has learned so much in a short amount of time.
