Visited with a friend looking for new coffees to take home. The environment is mostly good, the music is a bit old and makes it difficult to hear the person next to you. Two employees and neither offered any assistance nor did they make suggestions. Ordered two cappuccino’s they came out as lattes. The shots were good. Smooth. Not bitter. Was curious about the prices, however none of the bags are marked and neither employee would assist. Good coffee saved this rating/review.

This place is a lovely, laid-back, coffee spot. We went on a Sunday, and there wasn't a ton of people. I ordered a hot, salted caramel latte, and it gave starbucks a run for their money. We also ordered the scones, and they were a great snack if you had a sweet tooth. They didn't have any sandwiches or salads available at the time, hopefully the will when we go back. The decor was so cute, like boho-chic. The employees were also very kind. We'll definitely be returning.

This is my favorite coffee shop anywhere!!!! Even better pizza is in the same building. The owners are geniuses. If you're in central Texas this place is a must on any itinerary. The smell of fresh roasted coffee beans will draw you in. The atmosphere, staff, owners, and great products will keep your longer than expected and coming back for more. Did I mention the huge covered playground??? You and the kids will never want to leave.

I am always on a hunt for a new place to work on the weekends and First Street has been on my list for a long time! Finally made it there this past weekend and let me tell you, this hidden gem attached to Treno's is THE BEST. I started off in the back (near the playground) which was hard, but realized they have quieter spots up front to do work near the windows which let in so much light and are near plenty of outlets! I grabbed a matcha and a TEXAS VANILLA latte which is the best thing I've ever had. The baristas are all kind and knowledgeable and even gave me my next drink recommendation - a cinnamon dolce latte with Texas vanilla. I can't wait to come back!

I enjoyed a delicious Americano and did some work on my laptop in this great space. The playground looks really cool. I’ll have to bring the kids back for pizza at the connected restaurant. This coffee shop is a great addition to Temple. I’ll be back!

This place is great. It shares a long hall with Treno. It has an awesome playground with turf in the back. Great vibes for studying or drinking beer and watching a game or listening to a guitar player in the back. It has a reserve private room with a huge screen tv, and like 30 or something taps, great stop for an Octoberfest crawl. The pizza smells great and good pricing for the coffees and pizza. I had the cold brew and it was exactly what i was craving.Kid-friendliness: Sweet playground

Updated: honestly best coffee in Temple/Belton area! Definitely my favorite place. Had a bad experience this morning with a different coffee shop and sad I didn't go to first street.Such a cute coffee place, they even have a park in the back for kids to play/run around. Coffee is delicious as well and super affordable. Will definitely be back!

The mocha coffee was excellent. The quiche was small and pre-made, then heated up when I ordered. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it tasted. There were very little selections in food choices -- 2 kinds of quiche this day and some pre-made sandwiches in a cooler. I really wanted a pastry, but they only had one type of muffin that did not look overly appetizing. The coffee shop shared a space with a pizza shop. The pizza shop had better seating, so we sat there. There was also outside seating on the pizza side.

I've been going here since it opened and I always have a great time! I've never had a bad drink and I love sampling their different flavors. The signature Texas Vanilla is my favorite flavor to add to a cap or a latte. They also have great food/snack options. 1st street has that big-city coffee shop vibe that I love. It's a great place to get some work done or to bring my daughter to play. We love the playground, especially the fact that it is closed off. Definitely recommend whether you are just passing through or a local!

My husband and I LOVE this place! We usually go to Waco (it's a closer drive),but we have been making the trip to Temple just for this coffee! It's definitely worth it, the coffee and options are amazing 😍I haven't found a better coffee shop yet! Also I love the staff they are so kind to us!

The barista was super sweet & made great recommendations! The chai latte was amazing as well, since it's so hard to find a good balance of spice and it not being too sweet aka like Starbucks. The coffee was fresh & not burnt or sludge tasting. They also have a variety of milks to choose from, for those that may be lactose intolerant. The coffee making area was very clean which I did notice & appreciate, the tables not so much but with such great service and quality of coffee, I can only express a 5 star rating.

Great coffee and tasty food options for a small accompanying bite (pastries, desserts, quiches, etc). Lots of syrup flavors and they have milk alternatives if you prefer something else (like oatmilk for me).Baristas are friendly; one offered our son a sticker today and he was ecstatic! Very nice playground out back so kids can play while you sip your coffee, and easy access to the connected pizza shop, Treno, for food there.Bathrooms are also clean, which is always a plus.Vegetarian options: Options avilableDietary restrictions: Different milk options for those preferring non-dairyParking: Plenty of parking around the blockKid-friendliness: Super kid-friendly. Playground out back that was our main reason for making a trip!Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to access

They have one of the best coffee, not too weak as it has been my experience around town. Very reasonable prices. Their espressos are perfection. Friendly baristas and nice, casual mood.

Me, looking at a bag of retail coffee roasted two months ago: “I’m surprised y’all are selling coffee roasted in August…”Barista, uncaringly: “Coffee is good for 6 months.”On the one hand, I’m glad you are transparent on roast dates, even when they’re older than expected. On the other hand, you have “Roasters” in your business name and I would expect fresh offerings. $18 for 12oz of 2 month old coffee? Why do that when I can get Starbucks for $15/lb?It might do for now, but here’s hoping some real competition opens up in Temple some day soon. Perhaps in the meantime I’ll go with mail order coffee that will be more fresh for my purposes.Edit: took the bag home and discovered it wasn’t entirely sealed across the top. This is the second time this has happened to me with coffee at this store. Disappointing.

First time I ever went here, been meaning to. I had to get out for a bit downtown and ordered a large Texas Redhead, rasberry and vanilla. Very good! Atmosphere was suitably chill. Might take my laptop down here and get some writing done some day.

I like a good dairy free option, and they offer oat milk here. Coffee is good, but I normally get a London Fog. Their empanadas are a must, though. The most noteworthy aspect of First Street is their outdoor space. It is mostly covered with a playground and event space. When it is cold, they have you covered with outdoor heaters. I visit here regularly with friends and our kids because it is the only coffee spot with a playground. It's a great addition to downtown Temple.

The lemon poppy scone was not very lemon. It was ok but think there pastries are a bit overpriced. Outsourcing is great at helping other businesses get off the ground but need to tast better. Wife liked the coffee.

Friendly worker staff and welcoming seat setup. Good drink options. They do close somewhat early, but all in all worth checking out.

Edited after today's visit: I tried again with hopes that it had improved. The expresso tastes like burnt instant coffee - my parents drank instant coffee and I would pull pranks on unsuspecting friends (who enjoyed pranks) by having them drink the stuff no one ever said "oh that tasted great!" The attitude of the batista left a lot to be desired as well. I am giving up.Previous review: Let me start of by saying we have been here before and it was good enough to come again but this time it was not the best experience. I will try one more time but if it is always up and down I will not waste more time on them. The batista was nice but I don't think they are fully trained. So here is the breakdown of our experience..My cortado had a heavy froth instead of just steamed milk and the temp of it was way too high. There is no simple syrup! Considering that they make their own syrup this seems very strange. My friends Americano "tasted like burnt water" and was in a very tiny cup. The price of this Americano is double what we would pay at other shops when the size is factored in.The latte took 30 minutes to be cool enough to even try. Yes... coffee should be hot but not scalding. We are actually tossing these and getting something more enjoyable today.

The coffee is very good. The playground is also well maintained and a fun outlet for your kids, making it a family friendly place. The service is always great in the mornings on the weekends, they really pay attention and go an extra step!
