The first few interactions with the people who work there were pretty good. I set up an appointment over the phone. The lady was really sweet and very informative. Answered any questions that I had. Unfortunately, my boss wouldn’t let me off so I couldn’t make it to my appointment I apologized over the phone. She said I was completely fine and I got to set my appointment up at a later date later on that day.When I made it to my appointment I checked in, and I had to basically fight my cat from under the passenger seat because she had somehow squeezed under the chair once I had parked the car. At the moment I cannot afford to purchase a kennel on top of the $100 exam fee and then the $5-600 neuter fee that would be coming later on down the line.I had a harness for her that fit her perfectly fine, except because she had slipped out when initially put her in the car I brought her in without the harness. She was very stressed out and upset so I had her up in a little blanket to keep myself from getting scratched up.It normally takes my cat about 10 minutes to acclimate and calm down, unfortunately, instead of using the 10 minutes I had prior to the appointment I had to get her out from under the seat, which stressed her out all over again. I explain that to the lady who at the time seemed totally understanding. I asked to give her just a little bit of time (5 minutes or so) and by the time she came back into the room, she would be perfectly fine (which she was). She said no problem then left but I could hear her almost immediately talking shiit about me outside my door as if I wasn’t there or simply couldn’t hear. (like she was not whispering at all whatsoever, or even trying, she was speaking to the other man as if I wasn’t even in the building??)She was saying how she couldn’t believe I came in without a kennel, even though I was never once informed whether or not that was mandatory or expected. How it was crazy people would do stuff like this, how it makes no sense, and just going on and on with another gentleman who entered the room with her when she came back. (Keep in mind I apologize profusely. I told her that the kennel I had at the house is broken and I couldn’t afford a new one. The harness WAS my only other option and would’ve worked if I had secured it properly the first time, which I will admit, was my fault.) They come in with a kennel as if I asked for one saying “well don’t you need one?” at this point my cat was just chilling at the corner. I picked her up to put her on the table and like I said, she just needed a minute to calm down because she was upset. She was great! No hassle to them, not even a meow. She took her shots perfectly fine, got weight, even lifted by two strangers (the same two vets who were complaining) They complimented her and we left. So what all the negativity for? What all the gossiping and judgment for?After that, I was able to put her harness on properly this time because I wasn’t rushing, and she chilled in my arms, even with other dogs in the room until I was able to pay for the shot she got and leave stress free.I left, feeling completely embarrassed and uncomfortable at the whole situation because she came in smiling in my face as if she didn’t talk negatively about me like five seconds before she open the door. Overall, it really just damper my mood, and look on the business in general.On the bright side I later set an appointment with somewhere else (for a much cheaper rate btw)If you can afford the pet fees, I say go for it overall I’m sure they do great work. They were very nice up until this very moment, but I just feel like I wouldn’t go back because of this particular situation.

Had an appointment to just get some stitches removed. I had some concerns on some spots on my dog’s belly and Dr. Dunahoo took time out of her busy schedule to look over my dog and even shave some of her so we could get a better look at the spots. Cannot thank Family Pet Clinic enough for showing my baby so much attention and love.

Family Pet Clinic is amazing. My dog was hurt and was not feeling well and my own vet clinic told me they could not see him. I called family pet clinic and they were able to squeeze him in due to the symptoms he was displaying. My dog ended up needing surgery due to an obstruction and if family pet clinic didn’t fit him in to their busy schedule, he might not be here today. Family Pet Clinic treated me and my dog like we were the only clients in the building and everyone was professional and friendly. Needless to say, this is my dogs new vet clinic and I love everyone here for just being good people who are passionate about what they do.

This vet is very expensive. They will not allow you to take the prescription to SAMS, which is less expensive. The people are very nice.

Dr. Dunahoo and staff were exceptional! We are new to the Belton/Temple area and just adopted a 2 y/o German Shepard (Maggie) that needed a full check up. They walked us through everything down to her shedding and how to improve that. They really took the time to go through everything with us. Coming from CO. where we had a close personal friend as our vet, we felt we may never have that again, however we feel at home with the crew at Family Pet Clinic! Keep up the great work!Jeff H.

I’ve got 4 dogs that I have been patients for years. We recently just added one to our fur family. But the Dr. treats them all like her own. She explains everything she’s doing and why. Caring & compassionate.I’ve also had many interactions with other staff and just as friendly...very busy but caring.I recently got my big dog, O’Malley, groomed there. That’s the only thing I have not been happy with.

Everyone there is great and treats me with respect and is cheerful and kind. Those traits just are not very common in society today. I cannot think of a single thing that could make this veterinary establishment any better. It’s why I take my fur babies there for treatment. They genuinely feel compassion for all the animals in their care and empathy for the humans who love their pets enough to try to keep them healthy.

I've been taking my dogs here for many years. The people here actually care about you and the animals. It shows! Doc cried with us when our elderly dog was put down. They spend as much time as needed with you to address any concerns. You're not a number here.Prices are not through the roof, very reasonable. That certainly helps in multi animal households! The clinic is very clean and friendly. I love everyone here and recommend highly!

We have had excellent care every time we bring our pet here. The staff is professional but caring. They not only care for the animals but the pet parents! The Dr is a listener- she works with you until she finds a solution. She helped us transition an underweight, nervous puppy to a healthy and happy dog. She uncovered food allergies as the root cause- other vets had medicated and even put him through a ringworm treatment. Even the groomer there is fantastic! Great find!

Family Pet Clinic has been our vet for many years. They have helped us with many of our fur babies and they do a great job. Dr. Dunahoo is really good with our doggies. The recent addition of Amber has been amazing. She is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. She listens and wants to help. She has been amazing through our latest dilemma with Jackson. We took our pets here for years. Never again.They killed my cat. I took her in for a simple grooming visit and they killed her. I’m devastated. She didn’t need to be sedated. She was a small, calm and loving cat. My daughter even asked for them to do the blood work first to make sure she could withstand the sedatives. They failed to do it.KILLED MY CAT.Also, my son’s cat had diabetes and they never told him how to care for him. He suffered for a week before dying.Negligence…. Plain and simple.I wish there was a no star option.And yes, I did email and call the veterinarian board, and the AMVA..EDIT..I also find it interesting that they respond to other bad reviews, but not mine.And I wish they would stop sending me cards to remind me I need to vaccinate my dead baby.

Our 5 month old Labrador Lily was brought in for a checkLittle to know we found out she had gotten parvo. We were worried sick and afraid. RENEE is the absolute best. She took care of our puppy like she was her own. She called and texted and sent videos and updated me daily on how our Lily was doing. It seemed like a long 10 days but now Lily is home and doing amazing. I can’t thank Renee enough for just showing our puppy attention and love. I am more than happy with the way the clinic takes care of my pets. My dog was sick and I didn’t know if he was going to make it. I had been taking my dog to see this Vet for months in Temple. When I moved to another city and saw different vet, I figured out many problems with this vet and so disappointed. If I still lived in Temple, I would never known. First of all, this vet said that my dog needed to take a very expensive medication that was prescribed by the above Vet. The new doctor told me that I can buy any probiotic over the counter, even yogurt, no need to spend money on that medication. I triple asked that doctor to make sure that I did not misunderstood her. The medication was $90 per refill. Much worse, however, my dog had a pain at the back of her jaw. We took her into the above vet, and the vet cleaned her teeth and pulled two FRONT TEETH, even though we were concerned about the back of the jaw region. The bill approached a grand. I was previously used to spending 400 bucks. Our dog continued to have some pain back there every once and a while, so when we moved, and brought our dog to a new vet, the vet checked her whole mouth and found extensive squamous cell carcinoma. When asked how long it had been there, because of its size, the vet said that it had certainly been there at the time of the last dental cleaning. The lesion is inoperable. The above vet was so worried about billing for teeth that did not need to be pulled, she did not even do a thorough assessment of the dog's entire mouth. Had it been found, it might have been operable. I do not recommend this vet. Her charges are very high. Indeed, she charges more for routine lab work on dogs than Medicare pays physicians for my dad's lab work. Find a vet who cares about pets, not bills.

My dog had been sick for several days and I called in the morning and they got me in the same morning to see the vet. I truly appreciate the quickness in which they saw my dog. The vet gave me medicine, along with giving my dog a shot, and he was feeling better by the end of the day.

My 5 month old puppy woke up sick about a week and a half ago, after a couple days of vomiting, diarrhea, not eating a single thing or even being able to smell food without vomiting, seeming depressed and near lethargic I took her to another clinic in temple where I was told she was just teething and uncomfortable. No test were ran and she wasn't even looked at more then 5 min.It sounded insane to me but I wasn't going to pretend to know more then the vet I had come to know as very reputable in temple. After going home with some nausea medication Ellie continued to get more and more sick loosing a pound every day and a half. Two days after I took her to the first vet I was extremely worried as she was Shakey, wobbly and had trouble having to go outside and potty so I tried to take her somewhere else, being a Saturday only family pet clinic was open and usually is appointment only and closes at 12pm. After explaining to them what's going on they had me bring her in anyway and even stayed after 12pm to give her a fluid bolis and full treatment plan to continue at home. They knew right away she was sick not teething and did some tests, they determined she just had caught some sort of virus and was pretty dehydrated now. She got a antibiotic shot, some antibiotics and nausea/diarrhea medicine with a couple other medications. By the next day she was already showing much improvement and eating small amounts of baby food. Now 3 1/2 days later she Is pretty much back to her rambunctious self while still on her medications! I feel like everyone at this clinic genuinely cares about the animals and helping them. Thank you Dr. Donahue and family pet clinic we will forever be coming to you!
