I can’t say enough about Almost Home. They have cared for my energetic, young German Shepherd since he was an adolescent and have taken amazing care of him every time. I recently moved about 2.5 hours away from Temple, and I got rejected by several boarding places in my new location due to aggression. In a panic, I called Almost Home 1 day prior to our boarding service needs (12 days total needed). Initially it did not look feasible, but they called me later in the day to tell me they had a cancellation and booked me. Truly a godsend Almost Home is. I can’t recommend them enough. Thank you, Almost Home!

I have been taking my dogs to Almost Home for 5 years. First my older black lab who had mobility issues. The rooms were so roomy and we were allowed to bring rugs for her to walk on. She always stayed in the luxury suites. And now our younger dog who stays in the standard room. Everyone is so friendly and it is so great to know that your dog is so well cared for while you are away.

I desperately needed a place for my Jasper to stay and be cared for. I was in a medical rehabilitation facility and the weather was hot in August 2023. Circumstances led to my dog Jasper and I becoming homeless.Jasper had stayed at Almost Home Boarding as a puppy for a few days years before the facility had a new owner.Mr. Randy, the new owner gave Jasper a reservation during the hot month of August 2023 with extensions until October 2023.Mr. Randy and his staff cared for my Jasper and he was Almost Home.I visited with Jasper once, the rehabilitation therapy facility arranged for us to see each other. It was the first separation between Jasper and me. I worried about my Jasper being depressed without me.When I arrived at Almost Home, Jasper was brought to the front by a staff member. He was happy, I called out to him and he ran over to me.Jasper sat in my lap, gave me love and remained in my lap, but he never turned away from the staff member or the owner, Mr. Randy.I had to extend my stay at the rehabilitation facility and I called Almost Home.Mr. Randy, I have much respect and gratitude for you , your staff for giving Jasper a home until I could be discharged from the rehabilitation facility to our new home.I don't think we will be separated again, medical reasons cannot be predicted.I would only be able to have peace if Jasper was boarding with Mr. Randy at Almost Home Pet Resort.

I've been in many pet boarding facilities. This is the cleanest(no urine smell) facility I've seen. I was able to spend some time with Randy(the owner), and it was obvious he cares for the pets as if they were his own. There is no other place I would consider taking my pets to.

I can’t thank this facility enough for the well taken care of staff they have!! We took our 2 year old Pomeranian Mix dog, Honey. She’s a very shy dog and needs constant love and attention because she gets lonely but their staff was so wonderful in keeping her loved. We took her in last minute and they were very helpful into squeezing her in. I would totally recommend this place!! Such a friendly staff and kept us updated, Honey loved being here.

UPDATE: I had a good conversation with the owner Randy. Its obvious that he cares about the quality of service that his customers receive, and has a genuine concern about the health of the dogs under his care. We discussed the baths for the pups, and although it didn't seem so, they did get baths. The owner offered to reimbursed me for the cost of the bath. As for the rash that one of my pups developed, there's no way to determine the cause, cleaning chemicals etc. The owner walked me through the cleaning process and it seems very thorough, and he invited us to tour the kennel (open to anyone). The bottom line is, Almost Home Pet Resort has many excellent reviews and satisfied repeat customers. My wife and I plan to tour the kennel and give this another try. Many thanks to Randy for his time.So we are new to the temple area and needed a place to board our two small dogs for a long weekend. We read the reviews for Almost Home Pet Resort and it looked good, but they are not and here’s why. The dogs were supposed to be washed on the day of pickup, they were not, a $20 each service. When I got the dogs to the house, I noticed our male dog walking strange and licking his testicles. Upon inspection, he had a severe rash and was obviously in pain. I took him to the Temple Veterinary Hospital and the vet told me he had been sitting his own urine for days. So after several shots, prescriptions, and exam, the vet cost me $220. Add that to the boarding bill of $370, it cost me $590 dollars for my dogs to sit on their own urine and not get a bath. We won’t go back!!

Brought my six month old puppy here when I went out of town for about 5 days. My pup is high energy and he came back to us relaxed and ready for a nap. The staff here is so hospitable, even as a new dog mom I felt comfortable leaving him. He got an exit groom and looked spectacular. The prices are extremely reasonable for this level of care. The reviews speak for themselves.

I have only used once but I have to say they are wonderful. They worked so hard to get my mothers puppy in so that I could be with her at the hospital. Maya will definitely be going back. It's beyond a relief to know she is safe and happy so that I can focus on my mother.

Great place to leave your dog when you are looking for daycare or doggy hotel-resort. Friendly and patient staff, too. I love bringing my fur baby here. Every time I pick him up , he is always 'tuckered out' from the fun he had at this amazing facility!

We have used this boarding company once before and our pup loved it. They are easy to deal with once you have the portal set up. They send an email link the first time so setting it up isn’t hard. After that initial set up I am able to make all payments and reservations online. Super easy.Your pup will have its own little inside place with heat and AC. They also will have their own little yard.

Almost Home Pet Resort is the best care facility in CTX. I have a Brittany Spaniel who is such a high energy pup and needs a lot of patience, as well as attention. The staff is so incredible, they go above and beyond my expectations. They love my Hawk just as much as I do and they appreciate his energy and love of life. The owner has a genuine love for dogs and runs his facility to a high standard. Everything is clean, well built kennels, and they even have inside time with AC to make sure no one gets hurt by the heat. They are affordable, flexible, and have many options to give your pup the best care whether it be for a day or 2 weeks.10/10 would recommend them every time. Also, we love Shay. She rocks!

This place is amazing. I've used them twice and waited to post my comments until after the second visit. The staff is friendly and accommodating to the needs of my pets. The documentation is important but its minimal and they cover all aspects of boarding that you can think of. The layout of the facility is great and I like the fact that my pups have a small grassy area to enjoy. In addition, there enclosed areas are air-conditioned and must be free of fleas because my pups came back from their 3 day stay flee free. I don't plan on going out of town any time soon but I will definitely be using them again.

I went on a tour of the facility before I decided to board my pet. All staff were warm and friendly on the phone as well as at the facility. Everyone answered my questions without hesitation. The rooms are very nice and clean. All pets were happy and healthy. I know with certainly my pet was very well taken care of and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. I felt at ease leaving my dog pumpkin here while I was away.

Almost Home Pet Resort is amazing. I boarded my two dogs there for ten days and they took such great care of my babies. I was a nervous wreck and so scared to go out of town and leave my dogs but when I met Jay the owner and his team and seen the place and how well they treated my dogs I felt so much better. I was able to call and check on them anytime I had my babies in a luxury suite with their own little grassy outdoor area and they even thought my dogs how to use the doggie door so they was able to go in and out as they please .When i got back and picked my dogs up they were happy and well taking care of you could tell no signs of stress at all . It was a little vacation for my dogs as well they enjoyed it . I appreciate that none of their furry guests are locked up in a kennel all day and that they able to have their own space . The girls that work there are very sweet and you can tell that everyone there has a genuine love for animals. Another great fact is that the facility is very clean and the owners live on the property so their furry guests are never left alone . I highly recommend Jay & his team from Almost Home Pet Resort they are amazing and it is so great knowing that I can leave my dogs in good hands there when I have to travel. I love them

Amazing place and amazing people!! They don't just put your pet in a room and leave it til you come back. They check your pet out to see if it is compatible to other pets and they check social skills and behavior through a little training and 1/2 day visits BEFORE you make an appt for your pet to stay. Jay truly cares for pets and we truly miss them!! The place is super clean, more like a doctor's office waiting room, it never smells like pets, and they have wonderful rooms and suits for pets! They give baths and clip nails upon request and always make sure your pet's shots are up to date. Wonderful place and people!!

I never leave my small timid anxiety prone baby anywhere to board overnight. But the time finally came when it needed to be done, and I was super nervous! After considering some options and touring, we chose Almost Home, because honestly the staff made me feel comfortable, they live on site, and it is super clean and well maintained. They do have strict vaccine guidelines, exactly like every vet or day center I've used before has required, so I did not think it unreasonable as other reviewers have commented. For such spacious kennels,private yards, and the personal care my dog received the price was more than fair. After 5 days, when I picked up my dog, she was happy, hydrated, clean, as was all her bedding, and even the Tupper ware I brought her food in had been washed. The dog who wouldn't go to the staff the 1st day, now seemed calm and comfortable being around them. I am so glad to have found a trustworthy "home" for when she just can't travel with me! Truely, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and kind, very professional.

I’ve used almost home pet resort multiple times, and refuse to go anywhere else. I walk in or call and they automatically know who I am and my dog. They are always so welcoming and loving! I called the day of, and needed a place for my dog and they were able to accommodate. I could not ask for a better staff and place for my dog to stay while I am out of town! I’m even able to call and check on my dog while out and feel so comfortable leaving her here. So amazing. Have and will continue recommending these amazing people!

Great owners and staff! My lab goes a couple of times a week. She gets excited when we drive up because she knows it is play time. We are greeted as soon as we walk-in and they know her by name. I highly recommend this facility.

My son and his girlfriend tried to keep two stray Lab/Great Dane mix puppies when they went to college this fall but were unable due to busy schedules and I had to find Maverick and Luna new homes. I am also very busy and Almost Home was a life saver as I was able to bring them for daycare. Both got new homes quickly although I had to keep Maverick for a few weeks until he was able to go with his new owner which was Sam, their groomer. So I was also able to board him on the weekends while I was working in addition to the daycare. The staff is very friendly and obviously love interacting with the dogs so it made it very easy to leave him there knowing that he would be well taken care of and he would be starting to form a bond with Sam. I would not hesitate to leave my own dog there if the occasion arises. I really appreciate all the help!!

The best place I've ever taken my fur baby :) The service is incredible and the owner met me the first time I took my puppy there to ensure that she would have a pleasant stay, which made the world of a difference! The staff is amazing and they treat my puppy like family! My dog loves it and I have to drag her home! I will continue to drop my baby off here each week! She loved it!

The facility was super clean and well taken care of. The staff was very professional and so nice to all humans and pets. Our dogs were very well taken care of and acted like they were staying at a friends house while we were gone. Another nice thing is that the staff are able to administer prescribed medications. Will definitely board our dogs here again next time.

We have trusted our animals' care to the professionals at Almost Home Pet Resort numerous times since moving to the area in 2011 and have never had a bad experience. They are extremely caring and it readily comes across that the staff and owners are all animal lovers at heart. While we have used other kennels in the past, our dogs always come home smelling the cleanest and never seem anxious when we drop them off at Almost Home. When taking them in somebody always goes through their records to make sure they are up to date on shots and on a flea/tick preventative which I really appreciate. Would recommend to any pet lover that needs a kennel they can trust. Book your vacation/holiday times early as they fill up quickly during peak season which I believe is a reflection of the outstanding service they provide!

First time ever boarding my pet. They made it a very easy process and made me feel my pet was handled in a very caring manner. I'll def continue to board my pet here as needed.Update: I dunno, like 4+ years later, I have continued to use them for all my daycare and boarding needs. They went thru new management and familiar faces changed but they are all just as friendly and caring as ever. They have been a life saver in last minute needs and are easy to work with.

The entire staff here at Almost Home Pet Resort are fantastic! From the very start, you can tell that your dog is going to have a wonderful time while you are away. I was impressed that after the first visit, they could tell me about some of the little quirks my dog has.... definitely made me feel like they not only kept an eye on my dog, but genuinely cared and played with him too! My dog, Rocko, bolts through the door and is all too excited to go back each and every time we drop off....and when I pick up, you can tell he played a lot and is pretty tired. I can't thank the owners and staff enough for all they do, you are all caring and wonderful pet lovers!

Everyone there takes very good care of our pups. The staff is friendly and very professional. I know when I leave on a trip that my dogs are in good hands. We had a very bad experience with one of the other kennels in this area. I know Almost Home will never abuse our pups.

Great place! My Yorkies love this place! Jay is such a nice guy!! They treat the dogs great. I appreciate the fact that they are strict on shots because that insures the safety of my animals! The first time Peanut and Oreo stayed there Oreo had a problem going potty and they took him to our vet and had him checked out. They paid the bill and have him his medicine until we got back. Then they just added the vet charge to our bill. It could not have been easier!! Jay and Dave really care about there furry customers!!!
