It seems that this location may be under new management, as I have NEVER in all of my 48 years had a problem at this location until the last couple of months; the polite staff have switched from a "culture of yes" to a "culture of 'NO'!"For the past 40 years, after checking the cows, my hands and I hit the DQ drive-thru for malts. It was a tradition started by my grandfather. Around the beginning of deer season this year, a tall, dark, thin man with a clip board in a blue DQ polo began forbidding us from substituting styrofoam for the flimsy Orange Julius cups.You see, the cup holders in my truck are of the spring-claw sort that grabs your beverage with a rubber appendage. More than once, the claw has literally squeezed the malt out of the top of the over-sized hole in the lid of the ridiculously flimsy Orange Julius cup onto the instrument panel. Now my volume control has a short and will turn up or down at the dip of a pothole and three of my pre-set buttons no longer function. To alleviate this problem, I simply asked that my malt be poured into a styrofoam cup which has the triple benefit of being more rigid, cheaper to purchase from the distributor, and it better insulates my malt from the hot Texas heat.During my visit today, I ordered the styrofoam cup an, as expected, told that it can't be done. The polite young lady at the window offered to get the manager. He was near the parked vehicles to my right. He walked across the lane in front of my truck, wiped off his apron, and entered the drive-thru door. As he appeared in the window, I again offered to pay an additional fee of up to $5.00 to put mine in a styrofoam cup. The polite manager refused. I asked if he was really wanting to make this big of an issue out of a styrofoam cup and he again apologized and said that he is not allowed to put my malt in styrofoam. I informed him that I wanted to buy a glass of water for $5 in a styrofoam cup, then please give me the malt in the flimsy Orange Julius cup so I can switch it myself. He refused, I said this is ridiculous. I asked that my malt be taken off of the ticket, as it hadn't been made yet. I paid for a large Oreo Blizzard, and a large Vanilla Shake in a flimsy Orange Julius cup and was sure to instruct my foreman not to put it in the cup holders on the dash.Will someone please take the time to explain to me why I can't buy a styrofoam cup full of water at a reasonable price up to $5.00, then empty the water into the bed of my pick-up and fill the styrofoam cup with my malt that I purchased in the ridiculously flimsy Orange Julius cup?

This was the worst dairy Queen that I've ever been to in the entire United States. It took us fifteen minutes to get the nastiest breakfast 🥞 my wife and I have ever had scrambled eggs were full of lace they were burnt the sausage taste like chemicals. The gravy was good. The hashbrowns taste like two-week-old grease, we took a few bites and had to throw the rest in the trash we wasted our money I will never be back there ever again the place is a dump.. by the way we were the only car that pulled up into the drive-thru. This was on a Thursday morning around 8:30 a.m.You need to fire your cook and hire somebody that can actually cook

Absolutely terrible. Legitimately waited 1 hour to get a burger & fries. Drink was 3/4 full. Straw was too short for the large drink.Terrible. Won’t stop again.

I love love love this DQ. The service is always fantastic. The people that work there are some of the sweetest folks. The staff are trained to be courteous and to pay attention and the food is SO FREAKIN good. Always made right to the perfect temp. Way to go DQ folks!

The best Tea around. The lady at the drive thru window is so nice. She makes my day when I drive tru. And Patrick is so nice. I have placed my order and someone is in front of me. They come out and personally deliver my order . it's nice to feel like you as a customer are appreciated and that the employees like what they do.

Not only was the drive through lady awful she was yelling at other employees and throwing things. Seemed very unprofessional. Now to the food… I order two salads and had to wait 40 minutes for them. And the lady didn’t say a word to me just chunked my change at me. Keep in mind we have been even spoken before. The only reason I’m giving it a 2 and not a 1 is the young man was working hard to keep up

If you are absolutely starving and desperate with no way to cook food at home, come here. If you want to overpay for a meal that tastes like 8 years old cooked it, come here. If you have a ton of patience and don’t mind waiting and don’t mind your order being wrong…go to this Dairy Queen

I went thru drive thru Saturday evening about 6:30 pm. There were 2 cars in front of me, 1 at the pick up window and 1 at the pay window. I don't believe there was anybody on the inside. I sat at the ordering display for about 10 minutes before they finally came on to take my order. I pull up to the pay window sat for about 3 minutes no one showed but I saw employees walking around on the inside, so I pulled up to the pickup window. The guy brings me my order and I gave him my money. I waited for about another 5 minutes for my dollar change and my drink that I hadn't received. When no one came back to the window, I called the restaurant and told them that I was sitting in line waiting for my dollar change and Dr pepper and for them to just come back and I'll give them the tacos and they can give me my money back. After sitting there for over 20 minutes I left with no food. If I could give zero Stars I would.

Took forever to get food and when we did the tacos were soggy cuz they sat in the window along with fries while they made the burger asked for fresh fries and they tried to argue that they were hot cuz under the light I'm over it. Hard to get good service these days

Food was fresh but took forever to make. Not a bad stop but not stellar as far as DQ goes. They pretty much operate like they're the only people in town because... they are the only people in town

The service was incredible. We had ordered a specialty hunger buster and substituted a shake for the drink. The young man prepared the shake and placed it in the cooler so it would not melt. Indeed, a kind gesture that left an everlasting impression.

Doesn't matter when you go here, they are forever rude. When we lived in Tatum 8 years ago the staff was rude. We went just a month or so ago on the way home, different people, still rude. The only saving grace is our order was right. The food wasn't great, the wait time was worse and the Drive-thru is ridiculous.

This Dairy Queen was much bigger than expected. The inside was very spacious. The service was great even though they were very busy. The food arrived at the table in a timely manner and was made fresh. Everything was above par with this restaurant when it came to the dining experience. The restrooms are subpar for a restaurant its size. That was the only issue I had with the establishment.

The people are nice,but not at all in a hurry. It took us 25 minutes to get 2 medium blizzards. Also the owner should spring for better A/C because those poor employees were sweating.

I hate to update this to a lower review I dont know if all the ladies quit that have been there for years or what happened but the new staff is very rude amd the food quality has gone down hill. Cold burgers, rude staff ,and music playing from the kitchen at night. And a complete lack of care.. I hope they change it soon and get everyone back that was there and bring it back to how it was

I wish I could give ZERO stars. Customer service was atrocious, the clerk was very rude over the drive thru and even once up to the window. After paying we waited about 10 minutes before we got our drinks and during the time they were filling the drinks the girl stopped mid fill up and got herself a drink. Another 15 minutes went by before we got our food and that part was worse than the rest. 3 beef wraps were carelessly thrown in the bag half wrapped and dumped when the attempt was made to get one out of the bag.

I am not happy. Ordered a double meat, got a single with no cheese. This isn't the first time that this has happened . It just seems like the workers there need more help. We live in the country. Lakeport is easier.. Sorry to say. I hope things get better there.

Dairy queen of Tatum Tx is truly one of a kind. It's more like a small town Cafe than a far food restaurant. Their breakfast is also really good, the biscuits are about the size of a small burger ❤️
