I purchased a lot of Christmas stuff from the table that had a “70% off” sign. Everything at the register was regular price, I told the cashier, Javier, that’s regular price and he kept saying it’s already 70% off. He went to check and came back and said “I’ll have to override everything” with attitude and I said that was fine (because again I was buying them since it was “70% off”) I asked him if it was 70% off and he said yes. Once I got the receipt it was 50% off. I know I still got a % off but please do not put a sign up if your employees/store cannot promise the price. I usually don’t complain or write a bad review but there’s a reason ppl ask for the correct price. Have a bless day.

The manger is remarkable. I have been frequenting this store since January 2009 and seen a lot of good and a lot of, well, not so good. I must say since the current MGR. took over the place is really coming along quite nicely. Its actually remarkable what she is able to do when we know she struggles with staff turn over more often then not. The store is now always well stocked and clean. What I really like is the organization of items.. It use to be one day (whatever the item was) it was located on isle 2 (this is an example) and the next week isle 10, then so and so, on and on..Now most "always there" items are in the same place every time. I do believe the manger and staff at our Stanton, Texas ,, - Dollar General really do go the extra mile for their customers.Thanks Dollar General Manger and Crew , your Stanton customers really appreciate all your time, effort and energy you all put into making Dollar General an awesome place to shop in Stanton, Texas.

This store is poorly managed, and doesn't have any diversity to the store. They do not carry any diverse hair products, even after saying something to the manager, no attempts were made to rectify it, in all the 3 years of being here. Nor will they hire any diverse people in the store. They would rather hire a person with no experience thats on drugs, than to hire a person wanting to transfer from another store with experience with great references and everything.. Things are never put up, there's always carts all over the place. And the workers are always on their cellphones.

This store is poorly managed. There are boxes scattered all over the aisles, when the employees are stocking. I have literally Tripped and almost fallen several times. The store is dirty and most of the employees will never say a word, ask if they can help you or even attempt to make a pathway for the customer. I have a Service Dog and one of the female employees insists on petting my dog every time she sees her. The people who work here argue between themselves and talk about people in front of customers. I don’t know any of them personally, but this store needs serious training for personnel in professionalism and standard safety issues.

I love our DG here in our town! The staff is very nice and helpful. The store is older but it's clean, and well organized. They always have sale items in stock, as well as regular inventory.

The one star rating isn’t for the store itself, it’s for the night shift manager on the night of 5/30. I’m oblivious as to how someone that has worked there for 1 week, is in charge of someone who has worked there for 3 months. The night I walked in there, she had no idea what she was doing, and along with dropping item after item from customer to customer, she was clearly not in knowledge on how to operate the register itself. The lady was tweaking and tweaking hard. It was clear as day, as her eyes were as big as walnuts and her mouth was in the form of what’s known as a “fly trap.” Every customer in front of me and behind me noticed the same exact thing, and asked her if she was okay, which was in indication that we all knew she was as high as a kite.So Kimberly, if you’re reading this... drug test her on the spot, fire her, and promote the nice lady that was working with her that night. Next time I see this, I’m live streaming it, so everyone can see who is managing the Dollar General in Stanton at night and how bad she is at performing her duties.

Make sure you go when the trucks aren't making their deliveries because you can't get in or out. Unless you drive a pickup, a regular truck or SUV you are in for a mess.. This is a big headache for customers!

Went in for a Turkey pan. $34 later had pan and a bunch of other stuff. Still more I may need to get. Cashier was great and friendly.

I mean it's a dollar general, it's usually stocked well and decently clean. The staff usually look miserable but they are always nice and helpful.

Personally I believe that you shouldn’t rush your customers if they are shopping and you’re about to close the store. I do not appreciate being told to hurry up and move. I’m highly disgusted with the service received from this store and will be sure to contact whoever it takes to get this taken care of.

they never have what you need, and when you buy a loaf of bread, it expires the very next day.. and then they don't have any ethnic hair products in their store which is very discriminatory.. everyone in this town is not the same and the store needs to reflect that..
