A wide variety of seafood is available here. The portions provided are more than enough to fill you up. Great value in amount of food, quality of food and price. Waitress was helpful, attentive, and friendly. They have seating inside and outside with a water view of parked ships. Overall great place. Parking can be an issue at peak periods. Restrooms looked clean but had a funky smell.

Dirty Al's in South Padre Island fell short of expectations in both food and service. The experience started with a lack of attention from the staff, as we were seated without receiving menus promptly. Even a simple request for water without ice had to be reiterated. The unconventional pairing of oysters with ketchup and plastic silverware was surprising, despite the oysters themselves being fresh. Unfortunately, the whole blackened snapper lacked seasoning, missing a crucial element like salt. The shrimp and fried fish platter disappointed, with soggy, extra-charged onion rings lacking the desired crunch. Overall, the poorly executed dishes and service shortcomings make it unlikely for a return visit.

The food was great, we went in for their Wednesday special of snow crab and it was like a pound and a half of crab for an amazing price. We went back the next day and had oysters and crab legs again 😂. This time the price was 3x what we had paid (my fault for not asking) The table next to us suggested the stuffed shrimp which we tried. We were not impressed with those, a lot of breading not a lot of shrimp and I thought it would be a stuffed chile relleno but I was mistaken. The service was great, crab was great on Wednesday Thursday was have the amount 3 times the price. The view outside was beautiful.

Food is amazing however there was this white old saggy bald man complaining and it was annoying cause we’re tryna eat our food and he’s over there bching abt them not having bread ? Like bruh goHome other than that the workers there are so sweet and the food comes out real fast !! Very DELICIOUS

The food was very good! I had the fish basket and my kids had the burgers. The crab cake is meh, I wouldn't recommend, not $8 for one. One of the burgers was under cooked, the manager was very polite and apologetic! The bathrooms were a bit dirty! One major issue I had was the bus service. They waited by our table staring at us awkwardly. They cleaned our table without giving us a chance to leave. One of the ladies even SNATCHED the basket from my wife. If it wasent for the other lady with her correcting her I would have. The service needs work, Staff isn't very inviting!! All in all the food is good however I WILL NOT RETURN! Good food isn't enough to excuse rude behavior!

Many people recommended this restaurant so perhaps I went in with high expectations. I will even preface with perhaps dining with a group of eight also played a role in my experience.Overall, my experience was ok. We dined here on a Thursday for lunch and were seated and served quickly. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The Oysters Rockefeller were probably the highlight of my experience.My disappointment stemmed from my cold food and slightly over charred grilled shrimp. I thought I was alone in my sentiments but when I surveyed the table it seemed to be the same across the board. Everyone said it was ok. Nothing special, just ok.With limited dining options, this restaurant has been a popular staple on the island. My only advice to visitors is temper your expectations.

We had heard and read some good things about Dirty Al's, but it did not live up to the hype. We came on a Saturday night and it was pretty popping, a little difficult and confusing to find parking if it's your first time as they have a trailer park right beside it. We waiting about 10-15 minutes to be seated. The server was nice, and the patio at the back by the marina is pet friendly. We came with a party of 7. As you would expect from the name, the vibe is very casual and laid back, nothing fancy about it. We ordered the fried shrimp platter, and a fried shrimp, oyster, and fish platter. The servings were pretty small, and the fries were oversalted. Tartar sauce was ok, nothing special. The seafood was solid, also nothing spectacular - you could probably get something comparable or better at your local Bubba gumps. Unfortunately, we didn't really have any luck with food during our weekend trip to SPI so maybe this is normal for the area? Will have to try out some new places next time.

During our visit we had terrible service. From the start, our waitress Mariana forgot our request for limes and didn’t give us the sauce we ordered. Then, when we had to pay the bill she claimed that one of our orders was a large, but all of us distinctly remember her ordering a medium. She didn’t read out the order after we had originally placed it, and the medium and large platters are the same size so there wasn’t a way to distinguish them. Mariana then made it seem like it was going to be a hassle to get the manager and my friend felt intimidated and decided to just pay. She then realized she’s not in the wrong and wants to save the money. She called the manager Alex and he said since she already paid all he can do is give her a card for a free appetizer. He wrote on the card “free App” and signed his name. When he did this he said specifically that we can pick any appetizer off the menu. However, when we came in to redeem the coupon we were initially asking about different options of appetizers for a few minutes. Then as we made our order Alex decided to tell us that we can only order the fried zucchini since it was what was printed on the card. I told him that he told us that we could order anything from appetizers and he denied that and said we can only do the fried zucchini. Then they also didn’t have lids for the sauces in the to-go container, even though they seem to have a good part of the restaurant dedicated to to-go orders. Overall, the experience was not good. Waitresses and managers have poor communication skills and weren’t attentive. I don’t recommend going. The food was also cold when we got it.

So after going to the beach, we were starving & goggling restaurants nearby & thought "Dirty Al's, hmmm no in between either it's going to be really good or really bad."We were seated promptly & waitstaff was friendly. The oysters were ok, onion rings were awesome. Chicken strips were good, fried fish was good, but the red snapper was awesome. Originally, we ordered it grilled, but the waitress recommended the fish blackened & it was fantastic. The fries were nice & crispy. We were very happy with the recommendation & will definitely go back when in the area. We were so hungry, we didn't take pics of our food.

My family and I just left from eating here. I ordered the oyster Rockefeller, and other appetizers for my family and I. For the main course I had the shrimp and oyster fried basket. None of it had any taste, it was bland! Everything we ordered was tasteless and bland! I literally got sick from eating there. I threw up everything! Our server was amazing! The atmosphere was amazing as well. The food was not good at all. Highly Disappointed! I don’t see how this place has all of these five star reviews. STOP LYING!!!

My wife and I had the Blackened drum and grill drum special. I had salad and she has fries along with 1 beer apiece. They only offered ranch dressing for the salad which I was fine, I just never got it. Nor another beer or anything else for that matter. I final waved down the guy seating people to get our check. He did offer 15% off our bill, so acknowledged we had an issue, kudos to him. The fish was good as we're the fries. It was the service which negatively impacted this review.

Had to stop for seafood at Dirty Al's! I loved the atmosphere here. We sat outside by the boats. The food was really good. We ordered the New Orleans boiled shrimp and blackened fish tacos. Washed it down with a couple of beers. Very good dinner. I would recommend eating here. There was so much more to try. Maybe next time. Very friendly staff and great service. Thanks for a great experience!

Dirty Al's is pretty good. Our order was one and a half platters of fried fish and shrimp and fries. There was also a side order of fried oysters. The service was very good and the quantity of food was also good. The only problem is that my lovely wife fries fish and shrimp so much better, so I'm a little spoiled by her cooking. Enjoy!Update: the above still stands, but due to inflation, the size of the fish and shrimp were much smaller in size.

Their hot sauce (red one) is the best sauce out there. The shrimp and chicken platter was the way to go. They just gave too much of the fish but it was still good. I bought a bottle of the sauce but it's already gone (2 weeks) I need more but can't find a way to buy it online.Kid-friendliness: Great with my tired kiddos (just got done driving 10 hours and also had a few hours at the beach before coming here

Great place to eat. Very busy summer months, but we got a table within 15 minutes. Had the blackened black drum, was very Fresh. They charge by the pound after its fillet. The strawberry Margarita were also 😋yummy. Prices good. Very friendly and efficient staff. Been here numerous times.
