This pharmacy is severely understaffed and it is forced to be closed, unannounced, during normal weekly business hours. CVS offers the only pharmacy services on South Padre Island, TX. This is an UNACCEPTABLE medical practice on an island inhabited by a retiree demographic.The single pharmacist on staff must listen to incessant announcements of "Four calls on hold for the pharmacy department." How many mistakes in correctly dispensing controlled substances, and otherwise, does this situation generate?The solution is simple - offer adequate compensation to attract qualified staff. How do we spell corporate greed?

I have been using this CVS since AI moved to the Island 4 years ago. I have always received great service including calls or texts if I have a prescription that needs to be rented before it runs out. their app is also great - when I went to the hospital I could easily pull up my current medications and dosages.

It took several days to refill a critical medicine because the pharmacy was closed for several days and CVS had no relief pharmacists. Other CVS pharmacies in other cities refused to refill the prescription.

We came from out of town on a vacation and needed a script filled that was sent to them. Had to go back three consecutive days because it was never ready. On the third day had to wait over 30 min to get it. They had the pills at the store but I guess they don’t know how to fill scripts.

Had to transfer a prescription while we were on vacation. They totally screwed it up with my insurance company and in the transfer went from 30 day supply with 3 refills down to 15 day supply with 3 refills. When I got home and transferred it back, it was jacked to hell and back. Use WalMart in Port Isabel if you have to or HEB.
