Walked in the store my daughter asked if they had a restroom, the young man looked at the cashier and two other employees and looked back and said No. I asked how to get a key made he motioned towards the cashier I asked him how they used the restroom? Stood at the cashier while she and two other employees talked never looked up or at me to help, so we left. You really have nothing else to give besides good customer service, but if you don’t provide customer service you soon won’t have any customers or a job. It’s really unfortunate. Very disappointing

I needed sheet metal screws and blocks for a project on my camper. They had a great hardware selection and I was impressed at how well this store was stocked for being on SPI.

AMAZING customer service. Wish I would have checked the young man’s name tag. He was very helpful and attentive. Unfortunately they didn’t have what we needed but he was able to point us in the right direction.

It’s a small Island Hardware store so I don’t think one should complain about not having everything you’re looking for but they will have most of it and some you didn’t know you were looking for. The bolt selection is better than the box stores, lots of stainless! It’s annoying that everything is behind a lock on a shelf and you have to find an employee to unlock. But they must’ve had a bad shoplifting experience in the past so I can get over that. The problem is that while most of the employees are helpful and cheerful the whole experience crashes at the cash register. The check out staff is terrible. No smiles, they give the impression that they don’t want to be there or be helping you. I write this post not after my 1 visit to the store but my 6th over a 3 day period at various times of day. Either management treats them poorly so they turn it on the customers or mgmt doesn’t care how they act and are missing a critical piece of the store’s customer experience.

Prices are insanely high. Staff all have attitude. Not Ace anymore, and even when they were they did not honor the Ace rewards. No locals discount. No bathroom for customers. Just drive 10 minutes to Sutherlands and save yourself the poor experience you will find here.

Basic hardware needs are available but do not lose your receipt. They don't take unopened returns even for credit without the receipt even if you have credit card transaction proof. I will shop elsewhere as much as possible. Not a good way to do business. It's going to be mostly owners and residents who shop there so they're alienating their own base.

Very clean store, okay options to buy what you need, if posible they should hold a bit more diverse inventory. And very price!! Definitely, you pay a premium because it is on the island. But all the times I was there nice customer service.

Had to go there twice for small items, staff was very friendly and helpful and knew where every little thing was. Prices are good even though they have basically a monopoly. Thanks Coastal Hardware

Lesson learned: this medium-sized local hardware store is far better than the big box stores. We had assumed that we had to go to Brownsville to get some specific plumbing connectors, and spent hours at a total of three major stores there, searching through astonishingly disorganized sets of connectors. Decided we might as well try the local place--they had the part, we were helped by a very knowledgeable, friendly employee, and the store was impeccably well-organized. We'll try here first from now on.

We were in the area for a couple months.We had several projects that came up.We absolutely loved the customer service that they provide. They are very helpful and knowledgeable about their products. They had everything we needed.You don't have to hunt for anything.They will help you as soon as you enter the store. We enjoyed the friendly great customer service.

Open on Sunday, and they had what I needed. Dock cleats, actually quite a nice selection of boat gear, decent price too. Clean store.

Avoid this store! Save yourself some unforeseen issues. They have a policy that once you open a product than its yours regardless of whether its defected. I purchased a defected product and took it right back within 10 minutes. They refused to refund my money because I had opened the package. Well how was I supposed to know it was going to turn out defected unless I opened it and tried it. Safe yourself the headaches and head to Sutherlands in Port Isabel. You won't have issues there. They guarantee their products.

Everyone here is so helpful. It’s nice to stay local and not have to go to one of the big stores 25 miles away. One person helped us find the right screws and other things. He stayed with us until we found everything we needed. Had another associate discuss possibilities on how to fix a leaking garden hose.

This store does not take care of their customers! I purchased some replacement screen material. When I unrolled it, there were multiple light stripes running the length of the roll. I took it back to the store, with the receipt, but the manager would not refund without the cellophane wrapper! I came back later with the destroyed wrapper and after multiple questions, he granted the $9.78 refund; the problem is, it never showed up on our CC account! It was obvious to me that these people had no intention of refunding my money! I have spent hundreds of dollars in the store; not any more! I’m done! Sutherlands is just across the bridge and their staff and prices are way better!

I was a frequent customer here and like going out of my way to support smaller, local stores. I bought the wrong size garden hose fitting and when I went back to exchange it, they wouldn't let me without the receipt. I'd say it's bad business to lose a steady long term customer over a $4 part, but as they said 'that's our policy'.

Rude cashier. Tried to buy some basic window screen hardware and the last package they had was missing parts. Rather than try to find a substitute for the missing part (just a spring), she told me she couldn't sell me this to me since I might try to return it and claim that it was missing parts. Made zero sense to me! I couldn't do the repair without all the parts so I ended up driving across the bridge to Southerlands. They have lower prices and a better selection anyway, but you would think that the employees at this store could at least try a little bit to serve the customer...

Overpriced and staff is not knowledgeable or very friendly. I can see a little overpricing due to the location but they take it to an extreme. Also if you need to return an item - there is a restocking fee. So when they recommend the wrong product - and you return because it did not work - you are charged an additional charge. Just drive over to Port Isabel and go to Sutherlands - it will be cheaper in the long run.

Decent selection for the island. Prices are a little higher than Sutherlands. Some of the employees are not very knowledgeable on products; ie. Asked for orbit sander, employee took started showing me angle grinders and a buffer. I told employee not what I'm looking for. He then showed me drills🤔. So I found the orbit sander, he then said if you need "blades", they are here and pointed at the grinder disc.

Their availability of items online doesn't match what they have in stock, but they do have a great variety of goods for such a small hardware store. Store is clean and well organized.
