I recently visited the Blue Marlin Supermarket on South Padre Island and was thoroughly impressed by my experience. Nestled in a convenient location on the island, this charming market stands out not just for its assortment of products but notably for its exceptional staff. On a particularly hectic day, as I juggled a few errands and popped in for some essentials, I faced a minor mishap when my bag tore, sending my blackberries tumbling across the floor. Instantly, Jerry from the team sprang into action, offering to gather them for me, while Nick was ready to provide a fresh pack on the house. Although I chose to pick up the spill myself, I gratefully accepted the kind offer for a replacement pack. This gesture of customer care deeply resonated with me, underscoring how valuable attentive service can be.Admittedly, the prices at Blue Marlin Supermarket are somewhat higher than average, a fact that one might anticipate given its prime island location. Despite this, the quality of service and the warm, welcoming atmosphere more than compensate for the premium. It's clear that customer satisfaction is a priority here.Blue Marlin Supermarket is a gem on South Padre Island, perfect for those seeking a personal touch in their shopping experience. Very nice selection of groceries which helps from having to drive across the bridge to Port Isabel. Yes, it is slightly pricey but not outrageous. The prices are still fair.

This little island grocery store has been here for years! It's a great place to grab your needed groceries, wine and beer, snacks and soda. The fresh cut fruit and the fried chicken are always on point. The store is always clean and the staff is very friendly.

Might be a little small but this place has everything you need. Well stocked, faced, dates on product were good and friendly employees. The beef line here is very high quality. They also have beer next to milk. Genius.

They have what you need, but I wouldn't call it a supermarket by large urban standards. This is where you go to buy groceries locally. I went in for sliced cheese for sandwiches. They didn't have the packaged stuff, so I went to the deli counter. I would give the store 5 stars had I any comprehension of the weight of the package of cheese I usually buy, know the thickness of the cheese and could remember more high school Spanish from 40 years ago.

Fine in a pinch for a snack, nothing else. Selection is only ok. Need to be careful. Produce is about to expire, sometimes moldy the day after you buy it. Prices are definitely way inflated, they are probably just capitalizing on the fact they are the largest market on the island and people dont want to drive to Port Isabel HEB. We make the trip though to PI and recommend it.They have a “locals discount” for island residents of 5% if you “apply”. But even with the card I show them at checkout, they still try to get away with not applying the 5%, which is very annoying. I have had to go back in to customer service counter on multiple occasions when I realize in the parking lot that they didnt apply my “locals’ discount”, and even if its only a few dollars savings, I spend the 15 minutes it takes them to refund the difference because of the principle of the matter. You offer and make me apply for my locals discount so your prices for me come a little closer to reality, but then try to sneakily not apply it when I check out? Smh. Cashiers can be super snarky and rude at times. This could be a MUCH better store for sure.

This is a great grocery store they carry most things a grocery store would. They also have all the flavors of c4 at the checkout of the store and they are selling them at a discount price also!

It was a convenient place to shop. But they did not have any organic produce. Went there later in the week and got their fried fish in the food section. It was so good we went over later in the week and got some more.

Chose Golden Apples with price sticker on them, offered at $2.49, at register was charged for different variety at $3.99 per pound. Pointed it out, checker called for mgr to void, apples were rung up as GD, but at $2.59 per pound. Is this how everyone gets treated on the island during Spring Break? Shameful.

Awesome place to grab snacks for the beach the deli is great to grab fried fish or chicken strips. Wide variety of everything like a grocery store although a bit more expensive due to being on an island beach

Manager and cashier completely irrational and racist—they threatened to call the police and they followed us out of the establishment. They refused to sell us alcohol even though we had valid ids.

I was at IGA few Minutes ago. Let me start by saying, I will never go to any place that’s associates with it. Customer service doesn’t exist, perhaps because we are of minority group. Racism was up in the air. Rude and mannerless Manager (Jarrado).

Everything you need for your island stay or to stock your kitchen. Very clean, plenty of options, staff helpful. Felt like I stepped back 30 years (in a GOOD way) after only being in big chain warehouse mart megs stores for so long. Prices a little higher but not uncomfortably so. We'll worth it for the convenience. Plus, more types of Tampico than I've seen anywhere.

Not a bad little grocery store. We actually stopped by two days in a row!!! Funny how you forget the things you use daily when your on vacation. They even carry 3 liters of Coke!!! The close at 10 pm.
