So for whatever reason it was I’ll never know because I was NOT contacted by this vet other than to tell me my man “Texaco” didn’t make it” and that what few test he had ran came back “ negative” okay fine and dandy but WHY did our horse go down in two days and we take him to this “vet” and they can’t tell us as to why, we have several other horses and their all just fine and health, we had asked Eric if he would cut our horses tail hair off for our daughters shadow box and guess what we to this day still haven’t heard from him, but he wants to send us a bill? Yeah okay, ill roll over in my grave before they get ANOTHER DIME from my pocket!!!!!

Brought the cat in for her vaccinations. Staff checked her over thoroughly and made a few recommendations. Gave the cat her yearly vaccinations and let her go back in her crate. They were very gentle with her and tried not to stress her out too much. Great service!

The staff loves my dog almost as much as I do. Grace at the front is always bright, cheerful and a breath of fresh air. Cameron is a total joy and Dr. Lacy has been great at educating me and helping me do what is best for my dog. The online pharmacy and auto ship on maintenance meds & dog food takes the stress out of making sure we never run out.

They took very good care of my beagle Bugatti and my chihuahua Chester who had to be put to sleep because of heart disease. They are very compassionate and understanding and care about your pets. These are great people who truly care for critters of all sizes! We were so nervous about having to find a new vet when we moved to the area. All of those concerns have been put at ease by this place. These people have found the perfect balance of telling you exactly whats going on with your pet, and having compassion for animal & owner. Twice now I have had Dr. Metteauer has not returned my emergency call.. and the last two times I've had an appointment in office once I never saw they vet at all only a tech and the last time he came in looked over my horse and told the tech all was good and walked out without saying anything to me. Then I proceeded to have to wait to pay my bill because one lady had to go pick her child up from school and the other proceeded to finish her soup before waiting on me. Absolutely no appreciation for my business.

Had a mare with her chest cut open called and was told I would receive a phone call back waited over an hour no phone call. 3 calls back was told vet would get in touch and not a hey I'm sorry I can't help you nothing. Why have an emergency number if you can't be helped in an Emergency.

Spent very little time with the veterinarians on 2 seperate visits. Was treated poorly over my dog (which I'd had for 3 days) had fleas. That was 1 reason I was there. Techs failed to schedule not 1 but 2 follow-up visits for me. Had to wait almost an hour because was told I didn't have an appointment 🤯. Seems this veterinarian facility prefers to specialize in horses and livestock. Found another veterinarian. Gave 2 stars because it was clean inside.

Brought our kitten in for her first visit. Liked the place just fine. Everyone was friendly enough. I would have given five stars but there was some small lack of communication going on here, but nothing that would stop me from coming back. Could have just been because they are settling into a new building.

The doctor here is phenomenal and the staff is truly wonderful. Both doctor and staff genuinely care about their patients and their clients. They are thorough with the care they give and explanations of what they are doing to your animal and why. My horse was there for quite some time and I felt really good that he was in Dr. Metteauer's hands. I know he was well cared for and safe. Dr. Metteauer handled my horse's problem (had to have surgery) and he's doing great now! I highly recommend this animal hospital and can't say enough good about it.

We love this Perry's. We come here every year for our anniversary. We always get the same thing. The wedge salad is awesome. The 22 oz cowboy bone in ribeye steak is the best steak we have ever had. The Perry's famous pork chop is amazing. And to top it off the desert trio so you get a little taste of all sweets they offer on Houston Restaurant month menu. Love It.

for 20 years we have been using this veterinary clinic, now that I'm working part time during a pandemic, they are no longer allowing me to make payments to help my dog. Clearly from the other post, I'm not the only one that feels this way. Nothing good to say about people who value money over life.

We recently had to say Goodbye to our beloved Labrador, which as most pet lovers know, is one of the hardest things to do. Dr Metteauer and his staff were extremely compassionate and caring when the time came .. also during the months leading up to this he and his partner were very understanding in their care of my older dog .. she had hip dysplasia and his partner, who specializes in animal chiropractic adjusted her back and hips which gave my dog a better quality of life . I would highly recommend Southeast Texas Equine for professional and compassionate care of their pet .

Great dr and staff! One older lady in office is horribly rude. She is never nice. I do not like even having to talk to her....I wish I knew her name. For this reason. I am giving 3 stars. The staff and dr should most certainly see this and overlook her.

I love the clinic during normal business hours, but their after hours on call is horrible. On a Tuesday night We had a mare, with a week old foal, go down on us. The answering service paged and called the Dr on call, with no luck. For 4 hours we tried getting help with no luck. Even drove to clinic trying to get vet to meet us, and none would return our call or respond to answering service. Please don't advertise an on call if you are not going to answer. We were not new clients to the clinic either. Very unhappy with after hours service

I would have to disagree with all the other comments. This vet just let a poor innocent puppy die of parvo because they wanted money upfront from someone with financial difficulties before they would administer ANY type of treatment. Sad to say, because of their actions, this puppy passed away. I do NOT recommend this vet for ANY reason. Find another vet that actually cares about your animals well-being rather than money first!

I dont recommend this place for a dog. Trying to figure out why my dog has a skin condition. Blood test at the lab there $219 and then send blood to another lab and didnt tell me they would charge for it which turned out to be another $124. Skin sample test $93. Nothing given to the dog to easy his skin condition. Then they say another test that will cost $320. Seems they care more about money than care for animals. I grew up and lived my entire life in Sour Lake and this is what we get.

The Best! Most Reliable, Dependable Vet in Southeast TX. Dr. Schniter came out AFTER HOURS and tended to my very sick horse when two other vets would not. One of the vets even said, "call Dr. Schniter in Sour Lake (as if he is known by his colleagues to be a Veterinarian with remarkable integrity and outstanding work ethics.) Simply IMPRESSIVE!!!! Also very affordable.
