This place is absolutely AMAZING! I called after hrs as a first time patient and they came in to help. The staff was very friendly, informative and took very good care of us for ac great price. I definitely recommend and will be making the hr and a half drive for all my vet needs in the future.

I was recommended here by my sister. I am glad that I came. My dog was previously at a 24 hour emergency animal hospital and they estimated my bill to be around $6,700 on the low end of things for the treatment of my dog. And after a bunch of nonsense with them, I finally told them I was just going to take my dog home and get a second opinion. And I am so glad that I came to Shiner Animal Hospital for that second opinion! What was once a $6,700 estimate at the previous ER, turned into a $170 bill at Shiner. Quite the difference!! Saved my pup and my wallet, in one trip!

My boyfriend's parents recommended Shiner Animal Hospital to us and they are awesome! Both doctors we have seen there are great and the office staff is very helpful. Everyone is great and I absolutely recommend them to everyone!We like them so much we drive 2 hours to take our dogs there. Great job!

Very tentative to both my bull terrier and min pin. For the most part the staff is super nice but there have been a few times I've called and the girl answering seemed not so friendly. Not sure who it was because the voice isn't one I recognized as the regular ones. They always call to check on both my dogs after they have been in for be it a procedure or a copperhead bite. This is the only place I take my pets for their care.

Absolutely incredible staff, and a great experience with all of the doctors! If it weren't for the fact that someone was immediately ready to rush over and help late this evening after my cat Sybil had been snakebitten, she wouldn't be okay, and that is one of the many reasons I HIGHLY recommend Shiner Animal Hospital.

Communication lacking to the point where I felt I had been scammed. Made alot of assumptions about my comfort and knowledge level. They could not understand why I was upset after multiple attempts to explain. Talked to a bunch of locals about my experience and many had similar stories. Was told the vet practice in Hallettsville is much better too.

As far as the vets and 2 techs( that happen to be married) the front desk people alot of time seems stuck up and not that friendly. Then again it seems to be new girls everytime we go. But as far as my animals.....they are great.

** UPDATE**The kitty cat, who's name is now Logan, is happy, fat, healthy & fixed. Had this vet looked him over properly, he would have found he had a simple sinus infection & needed antibiotics, which I found out by simply googling his symptoms. I gave him penicillin & after A DAY, he was already better. I took him to another vet a day or two later, who said I was correct & was sad to hear about how this place handled him. I'm just glad I found a vet now, who cares more about the animals.....~~~~~~~I would love to say my visit to the hospital had been good but it was not. I needed to bring in a kitten my husband & I found in a parking lot that was bleeding from his nose & was injured. I had to call to get directions, as I was not familiar with the area & the woman on the phone was snappy & rude. Upon arriving & seeing the vet, I was told it would be best to euthanize him, considering he was thrashing around, God forbid they realize he's SCARED & INJURED.. Then they said I'd need $50-$100 up front, for the kitten to receive the medical care it needed. But because I didn't not have that readily available, they refused to properly treat him. Even tho they did nothing, i was charged for the visit & they tried to give me pain meds, to "ease his pain as he passes". I drove home with a bleeding kitten, which my husband & I have been up with all weekend, cleaning him up, feeding him with a syringe some baby food & water, & holding him as he has seizures. He has trouble breathing out of his nose & has an obvious nasal infection. Seriously, what happened to attending to the safety & health of an animal? If the vet had actually cared a little more, I would be content. As it is however, the vet seemed more concerned with getting money than taking care of this injured kitten... I'm just hoping the little guy can pull thru....
