If you’re looking for an affordable, clean, fairly spacious place to stay - this is it. If you’re looking for a spectacular breakfast buffet with made-to-order eggs, quality bagels/pastries, and Texas shaped waffles - this is it. If you’re hoping for friendly, kind staff to assist you through your stay - this is it. Can’t say enough good things about this hotel for the everyday traveler. Would I stay here for my honeymoon, no. But would I stay here for pretty much any other reason, you bet.

Our hotel room faced the interstate and the windows did not have a very good seal at all. For the first hour, I seriously thought there was a racetrack nearby. Finally, after the noise did not cease, I went to the window to see what was happening outside. The wind was blowing thru the corners of the window and causing a roaring noise as each car or truck would go by on the interstate, just like when the cars go around a racetrack.Also, I thought the tub was just rusty because of all of the orange on it. But when I took a shower, I realized it wasn't a metal tub, so the rust was actually crud on the tub.The toilet was really loud and so was the sink, because the original drain assembly was missing. They had a rubber plug that you could use, but the sound of the water running in the drain would wake anyone who was asleep.Like most people, I check the mattresses when I check into a hotel room. The side of the one was very stained, and disgusting.The heat/air unit was not working properly. When we arrived it was 59 degrees in the room. The heat would go from 70 to 59. You could not adjust it to anything in the 60s. It was either too hot or too cold.On the good side, we were given a bottle of water and a cookie at check-in. They also have made to order eggs at this location. The staff weren't necessarily rude, but I wouldn't exactly call them friendly either.This hotel is listed as a Best Western Plus. Outside of the room, it looks like that. But the room was horrible, and that's where you stay. We paid less for the two regular Best Western hotels we stayed on this trip, and they were significantly better rooms than this hotel provided.

The staff was very friendly and the only reason we didn't leave immediately. That and everything else in town was booked.The room was way overpriced for how bad of condition it was in. The room had a bad odor and the only thing in the room that was clean were the linens. There was pet food on the floor behind the bathroom door. Trim was falling off walls. The bathroom door was hard to close and did not lock, the shower was rusty and clogged, and the toilet seat was more of a swing than a seat.

Staff was very argumentative. They lost my daughter's driver's license swear to God they gave it back to her they never did and then found it on the floor behind the desk. It pays to listen to the clientele a little bit. Breakfast was good. My daughter filled out a survey on the motel she let them know about the driver's license and has heard nothing back

I've been driving through shamrock on my trips home. I'd had been on the road for about 15 hours. Stopped here for the night. I arrived just after midnight. The clerk was helpful getting me a room. She told me the beds were incredible. She was right. After so many hours in the car. The bed was heavenly. Room was awesome. I was told check out was at 11. I had planned on sleeping in. However, at 8 am was the pounding on the door , house keeping. Ugh guess I'm not sleeping in today. I figured it would be hard to try and go back to sleep , so I checked out I stay in many best western for work. First time I was ever woke up like this.

Checked in 1100pm. The a/c didn't work. Room was hot. Frt desk gave me an attitude and said, "you realize it's going down to 44 tonight? You probably won't even need the a/c." (it didn't even get close to 44)Second room, a/c wasn't turned on. Turned on and started unpacking. Room was still hot and humid and a/c barely working. Tub had stains, sink didn't have a stopper and room had somewhat of a bad smell. Too tired. Tried to open right side of big rectangular window. Frame was very rusty and taped shut. Got other side open but there where holes in the screen. Turned lights off and laid down. Awake 15mins later - bedbugs. 2:30am we're packing up and moving to 1st floor.A/c was somewhat better but not good. Window shears were dirty, very stained and had holes. Refrigerator had such a bad terrible smell we couldn't use it.Next morning we left the room at 9am, got back 10pm. Went to swipe the entry card and the door swung open. When the cleaning person left it that morning, they never completely closed the door so the room was left open all day.We come to Shamrock quite a bit and always stayed here. Not anymore.

We were just passing through and needed a place to sleep. So, with that in mind, it met our needs. The rooms were okay. The air conditioning in one of our rooms didn't work and it was very hot. The other room did have air and was comfortable. The bathrooms were old and dated. The best part of our stay was the breakfast in the morning. The food was good and eggs cooked to order. This was a nice surprise.

While traveling across country with a toddler and two dogs it was in a convenient location. Staff was nice, very friendly young girl working the counter. Room was clean enough - microwave was dirty when we arrived they must have forgotten to check it. The breakfast was good, I love the idea of the breakfast bar where you order eggs. I bet it creates less waste! I was a little surprised it was rated 3 star hotel, cause I’ve been to some two stars that were definitely nicer. While they are pet friendly there was no where to easily take your pets to potty, no doggy bags (I bring my own) but it was obvious other owners don’t pick up after their dogs. If you have a designated potty area with bags I’m sure it would be cleaner. Most of the grass areas around have tons of foxtails so be careful with pets. Overall a decent stay but likely wouldn’t stop again because of the lack of pet potty area.

My sister and I are traveling across the country for a new job and we pulled right off of 40 West and found Best Western +. Anna, who was working the front desk was very nice! From our ten minute interaction booking our room, I could tell she was just a very genuine person. We chatted with her a couple of other times and she was always very helpful and kind! The room was clean and was like any other hotel, really. Hot breakfast was served in the morning and there was a pool too. The scanner into the pool was malfunctioning and Anna tried several different ways to get it unlocked for nearly 15 minutes! We eventually got in. Thank you Anna! You made our stay at BW+ extra great! We had been in the car all day so we decided to take a walk and there were a bunch of different places to eat. We also found out Shamrock, Texas was the inspiration for the movie Cars!

We arrived tired and with our pet. Going off of reviews we chose here. I think the rooms that you are given when traveling with a pet are different? Maybe that's why the good reviews. Our room was dirty, I had to wipe down everything twice. Someone's hair on the bathroom floor, a bandaid over the peephole, dirty towels and the shower was so nasty I skipped it altogether. The bed felt like a hammock and caved in. We were so tired we stayed anyways and should not have. The worst hotel on our cross country trip.

We asked for a bigger room and got one that was long but narrow which didn't work for us so we upgraded to a suite type room which had something sticky on the floor. Thinking it was pancake syrup as it was in the kitchenette area but should have been cleaned. The bathroom needs to be renovated as it looks gross. The 2 rooms we saw in general are old looking and dated.

What a nice surprise! We enjoyed staying at the Best Western Plus in the little town of Shamrock last night on our drive across the country. The hotel is not new, but it is clean, quiet, and comfortable. We slept very well. What a treat this morning to have made-to-order eggs and omelets, real hashbrowns, and strawberry/almond/granola parfaits! I couldn't believe it! We will definitely stay there again!Rooms: Our room was clean, large and furnished nicely. Very comfortable bed.Safety: Hotel is on the edge of town near Interstate.Food & drinks: Breakfast was exceptional! When we arrived, we ordered a pizza from a restaurant less than a quarter of a mile away. There's a very unique ice cream shoppe next to the pizza restaurant, but it closes at 2pm.

This stay at the BW was due to an emergency stop after midnight. The toilet in our room was blocked and management promised to send someone but they never did show up. The room was hot when we arrived and the air conditioner really wasn't up to the task of cooling the room. All in all, it was better than sleeping in our vehicles. We were able to shower and the breakfast was OK.

We stayed twice in a 2 week span on our trek back and forth to the southwest. I love stopping in this town because it’s a perfect midpoint. I was excited to stay with the dogs, so excited that I left their yeti food bowls in the sink after I cleaned them to pack them, and accidentally forgot them. I called immediately after I realized I didn’t have them to us on the way home. I was asked to call the manager in the morning, nothing was turned in and there was supposed to be a follow up. I’ve heard nothing and haven’t received a returned call 😞

Overall, I really had a positive experience here! I won't write a lot because unfortunately, when I arrived here, it was after I had been driving for a long stretch and I was quite tired. In fact, if I recall correctly, I think I arrived at the hotel around 1:00 a.m. or 2:00 a.m.? I can't recall because it was around August 3rd that I arrived there.But, the room was great! There was an incredibly clean and comfortable bed, a mini fridge with freezer, a microwave, coffee station, armoire, television with Hideaway store space, and a standard dresser and chest of drawers. The bathroom was pristine! There were the standard toiletries that one might expect to find in a hotel room, and everything was clean to perfection.My one gripe was that the ice machine was broken. You'll see that in one of the pictures I uploaded. Additionally, the breakfast hours were far too early and too short! I mentioned this to the general manager when he was having a meeting with the front desk staff over the phone. We joked a bit and he took my advice to heart. Whether or not they'll make changes based on one person remains to be seen. As I stated: It was a positive experience. No real complaints.
