Clean, large convenient store and gas station. We stopped to top off before driving back home and needed a drink for the road. There was a deal on brisk tea and I bought some delicious banana pudding. Similar to bucees, they have souvenirs, stickers, clothes, stuffed animals, and other random travelers items. Check out was easy and the line wasn't too long either. Great stop before hitting the road for a long drive.

Great discovery! We drove to the beaver place (you know of whom I speak) to get our Texas pecan coffee, only to be informed that they never served Texas pecan although we used to drive at least once daily when visiting to get our Texas pecan coffee from that location.We had a most excellent breakfast; fantastic and friendly crew. Clean restrooms.And, did I mention fantastic Texas pecan coffee. Oh, a nice variety of creamers, milk choices along with half-and-half.Safe travels!

A miniature Bucees!This halfway point between Houston and San Antonio has become my go-to stop when traveling between the two cities. It’s always been an easy in and out. They have food selection to satisfy everyone in the car, and the bathrooms are always clean. We need more of these travel centers to pop up.

We attended a wedding rehearsal near by and went in to pick up a fairly good size preorder for pizza to have after the rehearsal. Everything was on time and they made sure we had everything needed, plates, utensils and plenty of napkins as well. Their service made us feel that they really cared about what they were doing which is most excellent.

Lot of parking , good assortment of merch and food - mens restroom was clean although the stall I picked was not and that’s the reason for 4 stars and not 5 . Tables are available- latest fountain drinks

Nothing like buccees restrooms are filthy stained urinals , barbecue is horrible and way overpriced. Ask for a bag for my merchandise and the rude lady handed me a sack wth. Make time to stop at Buccees you want regret it.

This is a knock off out Bucees. Decent restrooms but not very clean. Ordered food at the kiosk and expected it to be fresh. The kid that was working in the kitchen came out and grabbed our items out from under the heat lamps then passed them off as fresh. Chicken strips were so chewy that I couldn't eat them. Overall I would consider stopping by buckees or another establishment if your looking for food.

1st Time here on our way to Lake Charles, Louisiana. My Love was hungry so we stopped here for the very first time. She ordered the Carne Guisada Taco. She is extremely picky but this time she fell in Love with this Taco. She said it was the best. So I ordered a Carne Guisada Taco myself and she was correct this Taco was very delicious that I had to order another one.I will definitely come back again.

Clean restrooms. Great snacks. Friendly staff. Def at the pumps where the rigs get their fuel. Diesel in both fuel areas. Most importantly, Texas Pecan coffee.

Stopped here briefly to uss the restrooms, which were very clean by the way. Store is a near 1:1 copy of Buc-ee's and has similar options, but there are some differences. Most notably is an interior seating area to eat which is a great addition. Great stop and much less crowded than Buc-ee's.

Super Clean washroom, free air, and great service at the store and gas station . I will definitely consider coming next time for a quick stop . Once again the store has lot of stuff you need like coffee , drinks including wine beer , camping stuff , some soft toys , food , basic cloths etc ..

The cheeseburger & potato wedges were fantastic! Was super fresh! friendly staff, store was heavily stocked with so much stuff, I'm sure I missed something, decent amount of parking, restrooms were spot less. Eat ur heart out ta & pilot, take notice on these guys, u can learn something from here.

If you can't find a Buc-ee's come here! Conveniently located halfway in between Houston and San Antonio on I-10, this place holds it's own with clean restrooms, Texas collectibles and fresh made food to go! I stop here all the time!

We really started enjoying these Texan locations. This Schulenburg location is pretty big, with clean bathrooms for the most part. Lots and lots of food and beverage options. Would definitely consider stopping here again as we drove past it the first time last year but stopped at it this year. Bought some garlic pickles in a jar, Texan branded, that were actually quite delicious. I know I have been to one other Texan location that I felt was better managed than this one.

If I could leave negative 5stars I would. Gas pumps do not have receipt paper. When I went inside the clerk MARCI was totally NOT interested in helping me. I had no clue what pump I was on since it was dark and she says: ‘well I can’t see it and so I can’t get you a receipt’. Then she asked me what my total was - again I had no clue and she looks at me crazy and says: if you don’t know your total I can’t help you. Finally a nice man in line went outside to look. KEEP PAPER IN YOUR PUMP so people don’t have to ‘bother’ your clerks.

Complete knock off of Buccees, but with dirty restrooms and subpar food. If you don’t get their hot and ready food, it will take 20-30 minutes to get a simple burger made.

Best hot turkey sandwich I've ever had. My husband said the burger was so good, The Texan is now our official stop on the way to and from Houston. This place is Buc-ees without the excessive gift shop and the crowds, plus they have a lot of low carb snacks.We travel by car a lot, and I can honestly say The Texan is my favorite travel stop due to the high-quality, large quantity, great tasting food and it's Buc-ee style amenities. If you're going to or from Houston, give them a try. The restaurant is worth the stop. Their food puts Buc-ees hot food to shame.

As a truck driver we appreciate the parking great place to stop! I stopped originally for the bathroom and to get a drink and more road snacks, huge bathroom private stalls really clean super nice, great choice of food different drink options quite a bit of parking spot and lots of fuel lanes lots of space too and a plus there not super busy and everyone was super friendly as well! I’ll be sure to be tellingly people about this place and will most definitely be back!!!!

Go here instead of bucees, same quality everything without all the nic-nacs and people that bucees has. That place is a tourist trap/zoo especially on the weekends.

Great stop at Schulenberg,TX. It's a very clean well run business that's comparable to Bucce's, small version of it. Cool place.

Go here all the time for gas and quick food. They also have a small dining area, clean restrooms( huge area) , gas, coffee, quick snacks or dinner type plates, plus a lot of knick knacks and sovienier type of stuff. Good place to stop, get out the car and stretch your legs if traveling. If local, still a good place to visit for gas and a quick bite or dinner entree.

The old old buc ees is now the Texan everything is great. But they can't keep old hot food out. 20 4 hr old pizzas sitting there along with so many other items. They can hire one person to clean the kitchen and and make a couple items every hr. The cold items and bakery stuff is fine.

This place looked good, so I stopped. Needed gas and to relieve myself. They were busy, but I was able to do both. I even got some pizza and a small burrito. They have a kitchen here too but I was in a rush.
