Nice and quiet and clean after visiting our camp in the dessert. Very affordable too. Nice coy pond with lily's pads. We never make it before the snake exhibit closes and we leave early as it's a 10 hour drive back home.

We had another 2 hour drive to Del Rico at 9 pm. Stopped here because we were too tired to continue. Nice rustic rooms with tile and beautiful quilts on the beds. Super clean and comfortable. Will stay here again the next time we are passing through. Wifi, TV, refrigerator, microwave and air conditioning. Cute little pond in the foyer. And a nice picnic table for cards, making some breakfast, or drinking your morning coffee.

The hotel was cute and quaint and very clean! The service was welcoming and informative. The pond and outdoor area was teaming with goldfish, blossoming Lilly pads, and even local wildlife in the presents of guests. We will definitely be guests at minimum (that’s a lot considering we are from Idaho) twice a year from here on out. Thank you Roy and Ruth for a great visit and stay!

Best hotel around for 200 miles. The owner is friendly as hell and extremely knowledgeable about reptiles and natural history of the area. Hotel is pet friendly. The canyon behind the establishment is filled with fossils and cool native cacti. Price is very affordable, too. If you stay anywhere else in Sanderson you're being ripped off. The other place down the road was an over-priced dump.

We spend a great deal of time on the road and always consider it a special treat to find a pretty little family owned place like this for a very reasonable price. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There is a garage between every unit so you can’t hear a sound coming from either side. We had a breakfast taco at the place across the street the next morning. We’ll definitely be back!

Nice older motel. Clean and comfortable. Bed was comfortable, cable had premium channels, shower worked well, free WiFi. Be aware that restaurant are very limited in Sanderson. We went out at 6pm Saturday night to find a place to eat and every restaurant was closed. We ended up buying microwave food at gas station and cooking it in our room. We survived.

Outback Oasis was SUCH a great stop on our bicycle trip through the desert. Roy and Ruth, the owners were very kind and had the best rates in town. The gas station across the street had what we needed to prepare a dinner and had fresh tacos, burritos, sandwiches etc. available. We had mechanical issues in the morning and Roy let us use his shop and they extended our check out time so we could get it fixed! We usually choose to save money and camp, but our decision to stay in a motel tonight would definitely be repeated if we had to do it over. Thank you Outback Oasis!

We were on a theme vacation, where we traveled the back roads of Texas with no real agenda or deadlines. We drove into Sanderson in June when the temperatures in the early evening were still above 100F. The staff at the motel was very friendly, and accommodated us with clean rooms which had COLD AC! Slept soundly all night. The highlight of the stay was the "Snake Museum" off the lobby, and the building in the back of the complex where they kept and fed many other snakes. My room was 20yds from this building, but it was great! I talked about our stay with the snakes for months, and it has now become a family legend.

Roy and Ruth have done a great job with the Outback Oasis Motel. The place is clean and affordable, and it's always a pleasure to stay there.Roy has also provided reliable shuttle service for paddling trips on the Lower Canyons of the Rio Grande, and is an affordable and professional option on the eastern side of Big Bend National Park.

I am a reptile enthusiast and my girlfriend and I came to west Texas in pursues of the fabled grey-banded Kingsnake. There are no biases included with this review, because I am considered a “herper”. Of course the Outback Oasis Motel has its share of features that appeal to snake fans like ourselves, including their zoo-quality display of local reptiles and other classic American snakes, in addition to having access to the proprietor couple who are so knowledgeable and experienced with local reptiles and amphibians. Beyond the benefits of being a reptile enthusiast staying at the Outback Oasis Motel, there are a number of things about this establishment that will appeal to anyone with any standard of hospitality sensibilities. Ruth and Roy have made an apparent effort to optimize the stay for any guest, regardless of what brings them to beautiful West Texas. They have a wonderful and naturalistic fish pond, repurposed from an old swimMing pool that truly allows guest to experience an oasis. Guests can also utilize one of several charcoal grills toprepare their own meals and enjoy their evenings next to the scenic pond under and tropical feeling cabana, with plenty of seating and a nice big dining table. The rooms are exactly what you would expect of a very well maintained motel in rural Sanderson, except their standards of cleanliness exceed even my own! Anyone would find themselves comfortable in these room and may even feel as if you are amongst family at the world famous Outback Oasis Motel! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My family stayed here this past month and were pretty disappointed. We usually choose to stay this motel when visiting because it's actually one of the better options in town. The room doesn't really feel clean (dirt already on floor, cob webs near TV and under beds, stains on bedding), but there's not much choice. However, this last visit I was really upset when someone entered our room even with a "do not disturb" sign on the door knob. I only noticed because the trash was taken out, and the towels were moved around but not filled or the dirty taken (dirty towel from floor was moved and left on bed). We always make sure the room is as clean as possible when leaving places we've stayed and I cannot believe that on top of a mediocre room that there is NO privacy. We tried 3 times to speak to someone at the front office shortly after, but no one was available. We didn't want it to affect our stay with us leaving shortly so we got out of there as soon as we could. We will not be staying again.

loved this little place. owners are very nice. We have three service dogs so she put us in one of the rooms in the back so it was easy to let them out without disturbing others.

This is a great small town MOTEL, the best in town! Clean, nice craftsmen style furnitue, a step above what you would find in ranch style units. Rooms towards the back are connected by car ports which makes your individual unit quiet from your neighbors, perfect for early morning risers who are bicycling the Southern Tier! STAFF FREINDLY AND HELPFUL!

Driving back from AZ to FL last minute decided we should rest, it was late but we decided to call and look into motels. We weren't having much luck so I called this motel, the lady who answered the phone was rude as hell. I asked if there was rooms available and that we would make it there in about 2 hours. Her exact words were, "you woke me up now, and you're going to wake me up again in 2 hours?"!! Nope! we'll take our business elsewhere, and the Grumpy woman earned herself a one star from me and my family!

Great people, they let us check in very early after we where caught in the rain on out motorcycles. They got us in the room as fast as they could so we could warm up and dry out. Friendly friendly folks. We will be sure to stop in the next time we pass through.

The only place I would want to stay in West Texas. I go down to Big Bend region in the fall and spring every year and I always stay at the Outback Oasis on my travels. Great Place clean room with microwave, mini refrigerators and free Wi-Fi. I would recommend this motel to anyone that wants a clean room at a great price.

Your basic economy motel. A/C, wi-fi, shower, decently clean. The only eating place nearby was the Stripes gas station across the street, which served hot food that was surprisingly good.

Stay in Sanderson about once a year to visit family and we Stay at the Outback with our kids. Not by any means a 5 star resort but comfortable.
