If you want lumber and flooring, it is great. If you are looking for a selection of hardware, it's ok. The employees on the floor are helpful and courteous, but my issue is with the casheirs. They either don't like their job or don't care. Item was priced incorrectly, but the cashier kept saying they had to give her the price. "They" never showed up, and she never called anyone. The other time, the cashier was too busy talking/flirting with the customer that was being checked out at a different checkout for about 5 minutes. Until she decided she was done then she proceeded to help out with the line of customers.

Horrible experience working with Matt’s Building Materials in San Benito. During the process of a freight delivery the yard managers were unbelievably unorganized and swamped with traffic. No direction no sense of control of the situation. Secondly they damaged the material intended for another client. During the escalation process they are refusing to help a small business in good faith and rather leave us to pay for their errors.

Matt‘s is a great regional business. I highly support this company. The reason I like working with them is because they give great customer service and better pricing than the big box stores. And my absolute favorite thing is whenever I need building materials they will load them directly into my truck. I no longer go to the big box stores to buy things like lumber, concrete, or other materials I would use on a job site. If you’re building a fence or something like that, there is no better place to go for customer service or prices in our region. Be sure to support this great local business.

Hello am from pharr but every time I go to matts from pharr they always provide really bad customer service and the majority of the loaders are disrespectful and have no work ethics and the yard always dirty nails plywood you name it all scattered around today I stop by matt's in san benito and I was amazed with there excellent customer service all the staff was nice and polite the loader was polite and fast I like the way the store is run ama go ahead and come to matts in san benito instead of the one from pharr great customer service and excelent work ethics keep up the good work Matt's from san benito

Placed an order at noon on Tuesday to be delivered Friday morning. The order was placed at the San Benito location.. I have a construction team coming Saturday to complete multiple projects. I get a phone call Friday morning telling that they did not save my 60 bags of concrete and that they would request them from the Pharr location to be delivered on Friday evening. I made the person that called me aware of the importance of having the materials delivered timely due to having already contracted with a construction company, who expected the materials to be there. I get a call Friday evening telling me that the material had not arrived and that they would need to be delivered until Saturday morning. I was also told “but we might need to cancel since there might be rain tomorrow.” Soon after the call, I contacted the San Benito location and asked to speak with an assistant manger or a manger. I was transferred to “Belinda” who I am assuming is some type of supervisor there (maybe it was Brenda I do not remember now). Right off the bat this lady was rude and lacked all concept of customer service. Immediately, she began to speak with a rude tone of voice and said “well they told you that you could cancel your order if you wanted.” I attempted to discuss my concern with this person but I saw that I would not get anywhere with her. How in the world is somebody like this is given a leadership position is beyond me. No empathy, no customer service skill, and she did not provide any reasonable answers or alternatives. I found myself just asking whether the order would be delivered or not. To which she finally said “Well yes but I don’t know what time.” Very disappointed with this Matt’s location. Luckily, I am not in the construction business and I don’t need to deal with people like Belinda. I have been to the Pharr location many times and had no issue at all no there were always extremely helpful and professional. This lady could use some training and perhaps also some charm school!

Super busy place, construction guys all over the place, but the workers from Matt's find a way to still help out and attend customers. One thing for sure, the prices are better. I have ordered materials several times and end up saving some bucks from Matt's. I really recommend this place for your remodeling/construction needs.

Went by twice to get some windows , salesmen at service desk had horrible customer service. Answer was a plain No! We dont have , we cant sell exact words were " Im not gonna sell you these windows " without offering other options. Even though windows had no order name on them... Gave my business to Mccoys..

Went and bought some flooring material for over $1500 paid for it they only had part of what I needed they promised to have the rest in 2-3 days and nothing has arrived yet. I keep calling and for some reason the other store is not sending what I need to the store in san Benito very unsatisfied with the way they are handling this issue it's been over a week already since I paid.

Worker in the back try to get smart with me and my fatherinlaw a few days ago. We have recently Spent well over 5 grand in a few months of materials are and he comes to us when we're picking out the wood And tell us to buy the more expensive wood since we're being picky. And we weren't even being Picky we are even taken some wood that was not straight we were sorting the wood that was broken by the ForkLift. He wasn't even the guy helping us there. Then I find out this isn't the 1st time they have had issues with that worker

Had a horrible time. Created an order with the website's online chat. Got to the store and they can't edit the quantities because of the company policy. Then had to get my check approved. Why do I have to work so hard to spend my money at this store.

Clerk was not helpful at all. Dumb as nails. He was also suppose to phone me with his price of carpet we wanted to order. That was Monday afternoon. No phone call, so Wed. We called them, we got the same dumb guy, said he would call us back, now it's Wed, night and still no phone call, so going elsewhere
