Brookshire Brothers is the only grocery store in San Augustine, Texas. As San Augustine is the nearest town to my home, I shop here at least once a week. The workers are friendly, and the store is clean. The restrooms are normally clean and well-stocked. The huge parking lot is clean and well-lit. I wish there were more options for inexpensive groceries of high quality in the store, but this Brookshire Brothers is located in a small town. Of special note, Brookshire Brothers Deli sells the best fried chicken in town. The fried chicken is delicious and of restaurant-quality! My family uses Brookshire Brothers Pharmacy extensively, because it's conveniently located and typically well-stocked with medications.

Absolutely the best fried chicken. Huge pieces and golden brown,grandson loves the spicy chicken. It’s almost impossible to not get the chicken since as soon as you get out of the car that wonderful smell hits you,you won’t be disappointed

Called to order my daughter some cupcakes for her 1st birthday. Staff told me they were out of icing and couldn’t do them. I said that’s fine, I didn’t want icing just the plain cupcakes. She told me I can’t fill your order! Never heard of such. Not everyone wants icing on a cupcake or a piece of cake. Called Walmart an they never questioned no icing issue an my order was successful. Won’t be calling this bakery again!

This grocery store was perfect for preparing for the recent inflationary period. The high prices had me ready to budget for the Federal Reserve's failure on the only job they were tasked with since the inception of this institution which is no more federal than Federal Express. The fried chicken here that is void of flavor had me prepared for the loss of taste caused by Covid-19. They should rename this store Preparation Brothers, or bulldoze it.

They always seem to stop selling whatever I buy the most of. I loved high top 99 cent Mexican pizzas and I have asked them to get them again several times and they won't do it. I've also realized prices are not very cheap at all. I would rather go to a dollar store, but it is a typical Brookshire's that has everything most Brookshire's have. Nothing special about it but nothing really bad about it either.

I can never get waited on in the deli, stand and wait they act like I’m invisible. Went in tonight stood there forever, finally asked a kid with earbuds in, ignoring me if he could wait on me, he said I had to ask the lady at the other end of counter. She was rude and said it was late they were closed. Unbelievable service, not coming back.

Love the people in the pharmacy . Always leave with a smile. When you walk in you are greeted by Miss Mary . I absolutely love her .A true Christian lady . And Mr.Walter is so sweet .

Can't get a mixed snack pack of chicken but you can get a mixed 2 piece cheaper. Don't make sense. The potato log is the only difference. You can get it mixed in Huntington and Lufkin but not in Hemphill and St Augustine, not to mention they are not very nice telling you. As for the best chicken in town, it's good but they are a little stingy with it

Best vegetable and fruit section that i have seen in a long time. From Houston and i do the grocery shopping. Pear was juicy and delicious. Clean bathrooms. French bread could be softer.
