Ricardo @ PetSmart on Stoneridge, San Antonio, Texas was our groomer for both of our Cocker Spaniels for almost 15 years. Unfortunately, Mocha, our brown & white Springer Cocker Spaniel passed in 2014 & just recently, Dominoe, our Tri-Color Cocker Spaniel passed on April 29, 2024. Ricardo always groomed our fury boys with such love & compassion. He made them look so very beautiful. Ricardo was like family to us. We will visit him periodically, because we will miss having our dogs look so beautiful & seeing how happy Ricardo was to take care of them both. Ricardo, we will bring you breakfast & coffee one morning soon. Highly recommend Ricardo to have your doggies groomed with ultimate care, love & patience. On the day we had to let Dominoe go to Rainbow Heaven, Ricardo stopped to caress & talk to Dominoe. He knew it was time to let Dom go & we will always be grateful for Ricardo. Love ya Ricardo!

Very pleasant staff and always very helpful. I take my 6 year old daughter sometimes to look at all the animals and she loves to see them all, as do I. 😀 They have cats, fish, mice, hamsters, birds, and a doggy daycare. If you go during the day, you are able to see the dogs through the glass window.

I brought my puppy in to be groomed excited that there was an open spot on my off day, I booked right away. I trust PetSmart to shop and had another dog take training classes before so I assumed grooming would be great. I couldn't be more upset with the way he looks.I was told by his groomer, Lindy R that he needed to be cut down because his legs were matted and the brush I was using was only brushing the top layer of hair and he needed to shaved down to a level 7 to get the matting out. I told her I brush him daily and she asked me to put him down in which she inspected him and told me his back and stomach were good but legs needed some work. She said she would do a teddy bear cut and I agreed. About 2 hours later, I got a call saying he was done and excited I went to pick him up.... only he looked nothing like the dog that I dropped off. I was completely in shock of how he looked. I said outloud who is this.Shaved down completely I could get over but to be shaved down, uneven and still have small knots when I rubbed him....it was unbelievable. Unable to hide my anger, I decided it was best to pay my bill and go. I had to call him a few times to make sure it was the same dog I dropped off. He looked horrible and I am not exaggerating.I called back and spoke to manager Sarann who was extremely nice when I called back to complain and offered me a refund or another groomer to clean up the cut.... there is absolutely NO WAY PetSmart will ever get my business again. I wouldn't buy a flea from there. While I appreciate Sarann and am heading up to get my refund, I WILL NEVER EVER trust PetSmart with my baby EVER AGAIN!!!!!

I was extremely disappointed with my recent grooming experience at PetSmart. I took my beloved dog for a routine grooming appointment, but unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. Firstly, I had to wait over 25 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, because the lady was overbooked with express service and the receptionist was dealing with another client and ask me to wait outside. When my dog was finally taken in for grooming, I stayed in the area because I had payed extra for express service and was only going to take about an hour for my dog to be ready.When I picked up my dog, I noticed that the grooming was incomplete and not up to the standard that I expected from PetSmart. Having to pay $88 dollars for what they did to my dog, could have honestly done it myself would have turned out way better. My dog’s hair was not properly cut, and some areas were super uneven and she did not smell like she was given a bath. To make matters worse, that night I saw my dog scratching herself a lot. As I got closer I saw a flea jump from her back and I was dead. SHE HAD FLEAS! Really Petsmart??!! Do you guys even sanitize your areas? Had to take her to the vet to get her medication because she had multiple fleas all over her. After having her groomed!!!!Overall, my dog has been a loyal client of Petsmart but this time I had a very negative experience at PetSmart and will be hesitant to return for future grooming appointments. I hope that the management can take steps to improve the quality of care and ensure that customers receive the level of service that they expect and deserve."

don’t rely on curbside! you’ll call to let them know you’re parked and no one will come out! 😍 when you go inside to get your order the girl with the thick ugly glasses at the register will say they didn’t get a call (like she’s the only person working) and rudely remind you there’s a button you can press when you need help.. how fun! hope their employees get a better attitude about their job description 😍😍

Poor customer service! They have untrained associates (non-veterinarians) making medical decisions based on what they "think" versus fact-based knowledge of a condition. I booked an overnight stay with the pet hotel. Upon my arrival, the "manager" on duty stated "She looks like she has a cold" This was based on the "manager's" assumption of my dog's wet nose. When I asked about her profession, she simply stated I'm the manager and the corporate office has given me the authority to make this decision. I reached out to their corporate office and spoke to someone who claimed someone would be in touch. That never happened.

I have personally taken my dog here and been overall pleased with his care. My parents, however, just lost our family pet and upon pickup of his ashes & paw print the staff just handed my mom a bag of his remains and continued business as usual while she cried in sadness. They didn't wish her peace, didn't thank us for his time being a Banfield patient, and didn't offer ANY condolences. It's very misleading to think you're earning a place in someone's heart, only to be a name and number in their database, or simple a money transaction versus a beloved fur patient. Think twice if you feel like you have any end of life needs at this location because your heart will not be warmed and you'll leave disappointed and heartbroken.

I placed an order on Friday for delivery yesterday. My order was accepted, I got two emails from them confirming the order and delivery time for between 12-3 yesterday. Then...nothing. I logged into my account around 5 o'clock and it showed "canceled." No email informing me of this, no phone call, nothing. I was sick and unable to go out so I was depending on the delivery option. Luckily, my local pet store was open until 7 and a family member offered to go, so I was able to get what I needed in time.

I was able to find an extra large bag of nutro Dog Food at a good price. The store was clean and well stocked. Plenty of parking outside too. I would recommend shopping at this location.

We just relocated here so we've been using the pet hotel while we are looking at homes, and the staff is so amazing! The dogs seem to love it and it's very affordable for half a day! Highly recommend! These are photos of them in the car/at the hotel after daycare!

We couldn't get an appointment with our local Petsmart in the Houston area so we booked one while visiting San Antonio and let me just say Lindy was absolutely remarkable and my puppies look gorgeous! Excellent job!

Fair experience. Ordered a kennel for curbside pick up. Waited 20 minutes. It was cold outside so maybe that why it never came to us. Went inside to pick up, no big deal. The girl who was helping us seemed annoyed. She did get our kennel located quickly.

My two rescue dogs (both 10 years old) are pretty skittish at groomers normally, but not today! Thanks to this team of wonderful, sweet, caring bathers and groomers, not only do my sweet doggos look great, they clearly feel great too!! Here that are modeling their “pedis” ❤️🐾

HORRIBLE. Do not take your dog here. I have a 9 pound toy poodle, he’s so mellow, so sweet, doesn’t bark bite or anything. He came back not only A was hit haircut TERRIBLE. B he was shaking, he seemed terrified when we got him back, for a whole week): I felt so bad, I can’t imagine what they did to my poor guy.. I regret taking my baby here so bad. $67 for a terrible experience.

I stopped by this local Pet Smart today for an aquatic heater. Found the right item plus some food for my aquatic turtles.Service was great, but I sure wish prices were more competitive than other pet stores.

My puppy loves coming in this store and picking out his toys. He actually has a favorite groomer "Kai" is his name. He is always so gentle with my boy's paws thank you Kai for always getting him cleaned up right for us. You are appreciated.

Store manager Alex was incredibly rude and cold. Every other Petsmart I called helped me when I called looking for prescription dog food. Alex at this location, was the one Petsmart location in all of San Antonio to leave me on an 8 min hold and tell me this location does not help customers inquiring about a type of prescription dog food via phone. I’d be welcome to wait longer if she had time to help but said she was going to help all the customers in store first. I requested an additional store associate to help me, or a manger, to find out she is the manager and she became incredibly defensive at this point. Looks like an operational issue if you don’t have enough associates to help customers over the phone and in store. Corporate should look into this type of management as I will never shop here again. I recommend finding another Petsmart that is still close to you, they’ll care more about assisting you and your pet. Maybe that line would have worked, however every other Petsmart I called was so helpful and friendly, it’s clear it’s a management issue at this location. Shame as they advertise “We’ll do anything for your pet”.

Ricardo is the first groomer that has been able to groom my cat Zaza without sedation. I am so grateful to have found a place to take him when his hair gets too long. I would recommend anyone who needs their cat or dog groomed to take them to Ricardo!

We are so pleased and happy with the level of services provided by the Hotel and all of its employees as they waited over our beloved Chico. What a great experience as it was our first time utilizing the hotel.The young lady with blonde hair was amazing. Very communicative and followed through with the steps that were going to take place. It was a smooth transition.The only adjustment needed was us missing our Chico.Thanks again for a top notch experience.

I love bringing my dogs here for the “full spa treatment.” The techs are awesome and very helpful. They know how to calm my little guys down and we always leave happy. The cashiers are friendly as well!

Great location to stop for all pet needs. Employees were friendly and helpful when visiting. Store has grooming, training, pet hotel, pet hospital, and all other pet needs. Recommend a visit.

For years I have used Petsmart in Houston and Florida without problems, my dog is nervous and cannot be in a kennel for long, for this reason I always pay an express wash service, in this location they wanted to put my dog in a kennel for 5 hours and they were not professional They did not want to honor my express wash for receiving more dogs, in this store they do not have professional groomers and they put my dog in a kennel for two hours with the excuse that my dog was aggressive, my dog has never been aggressive in any petsmart store in the country and only here these groomers said that, it shows that they are not well prepared or properly trained, they gave me my dog after 2 hours in a kennel; dirty, wet and badly cut hair!

Not good today. I said the cashier squished my fish in the corners and the manager came up and said that the upside down floating fish is how they are supposed to look and that they would come out of it. She did give me one more when I argued that it was NOT normal. I took back 3 fish (they replaced the other 2 that were floating funny when I left originally) and I came home to one more dead fish. No other compensation, but it's not worth me going back to argue for another fish. I'll just start getting my fish from Aquarium Design or one of the other chain pet stores here.

We bought my mom a puppy here in Arizona for her birthday present. Unfortunately, her new fur baby had giardia and was given medication the day before their departure. Being a fur mama myself, I was really worried about the well-being of her new pup since my mom had a long drive back home to Texas. It was difficult finding a follow-up appointment for her new fur baby, Curry. I called several locations in the San Antonio area and was relieved to talk to Janell from the Stoneridge Pet Smart location. Janell went above and beyond to find an appointment for my mom's new pup. Janell could sense my worry and reassured me that she would find an appointment..and she did! Thank you Janell for making my mom's first fur mama experience a good one! We are both super grateful for your attentiveness!

Do not take your pup here for grooming services..I took mine and got him still damp..his sanitary areas were not cut in which I had to tell them to do it..they didn't even brush him..he was shedding all over me when I picked him up..and his nails are super sharp..we had somewhere to be and they were about to close so I called up there when I got a chance..was suppose to receive a call back and nothing..save your money and go elsewhere. Theres no way I should get this off a freshly washed and brush puppy
