We went to see what pets they have for sale. We saw different types of fish and cats. The place was clean and well organized. They have a lot of options for dog food, toys and even training. We hope to see more pets but in general was a good place.

My sweet little 12 lb. Yorkie Poo SPCA rescue, just over a year old, went to the DeZavala Petsmart location in San Antonio yesterday to see a groomer who has groomed her twice before and done well. Pup had finally developed her “look” but needed a gentle TRIM. THE GROOMER SHAVED her without even a quick text or call which they ordinarily do when your dog is done. But Nooooo... After previous lengthy discussions with the groomer, she was well aware that my pups eyebrows were errantly shaved off when being groomed after the shelter - she had worked with us on 2 occasions of us being very specific about NOT touching pups eyes or face. I also sent photos from Insta for her to go by. NONE of the 3 Yorkie Poo pics were of “shaved” Yorkie poos. Pup gets regular brushing to include the night before she went to subject groomer but has gotten a couple of mats in her coat on the side - none large and all could have easily been cut out. Groomer abandoned all instruction and shaved and apparently traumatized my dog as now she jumps every time I try to touch her face. I went to this petsmart over a year ago to get my dog groomed. I arrived early only to see my dog screaming in pain and tied up with a choke collar while a groomer aggressively brushed him. I walked in and the girl at the front loudly told the groomer that the “parents” were here early and the groomer quickly walked into the back. I just stood there shocked. As the front desk girl charged us she tried to say our dog tried to bite. Obviously that was pretext/her trying to cover for what was essentially dog abuse. Never again.

I took my dog 🐕 to have his nails trimmed. They did what other groomers could not. They trimmed his nails PERFECTLY. I will be taking him back. I highly recommend PetSmart for pet grooming!

I went in with my husband and I met Jennifer at the register and omg she is so wonderful and she is a raise for sure she is just a piece of sun shine I'm def coming back just because of her customer service. She is so wonderful we need more people like her

I am so grateful for Dr. K and staff! Especially Kaylee for helping me in a situation at the airport where I needed Dr. K's signature on an important document in a hurry in order for my Lola to fly! I appreciate them so much. And Dr. K has always taken the time to explain and ensure Lola was good when she didn't feel well. Thanks so much!❤️🙏🏼I truly appreciate your care and concern for my baby! I liked the animals and did make a purchase but the staff was not friendly or helpful AT ALL!! Sorta rude in my opinion so if at all possible I will shop at a different location to spend my money.

Love this place. Good variety of produce and service. Always have a discount with the book of discount. That was the best $19.99 that I had invested. The same trip already saved the $19.99.

I usually go to the location by live oak but i was near this one and This place has gone south for the winter, none of their aquatic tanks have been taken care of, over half of the fish are living in unclean environments and most of the air jets for the fish that need it are not operating. There were fish in alot of tanks that were dead and just left there and not just one but multiples per tank. I went for shrimp but over half wer dead. Im sure the employees are good at their job in other areas but this is one area that seems overlooked. I was unhappy with what I was seeing, it almost made me sick.

My rating goes for Samantha in the grooming department. She was so kind and so patient. She took such great care of my 11yr old toy poodle Cinna. She looks adorable and I thank her greatly.

As a store, they are great and their training too.Their grooming business is another story; at every location, they get the dogs with a choke collar kind of leash. That is terrible for the trachea and spine, but if this in itself still doesn’t say much, I will also share the pet experience… Pets are held for hours in a tight kennel (depending on size, some can’t get up to move around) with a lot of loud barking, loud blow dryers and huge shower pressure noice. That’s too much of a sensory overload for a neurotypical human and exponentially more for a dog.That leaves me wondering if as pet professionals they really know and/ or care about pets’ needs and comfort.I have seen this at every Petsmart grooming and even though I was not happy, I didn’t know where else to go.I left my pup with them and after pick up, I got in my car and saw a big red mark on her skin (under her chin-neck) from either the choke collar or the grooming station leash they use to hold the dogs in place when cutting their hair.Also, since then, my dog shakes all over and gets extremely scared if we walk past that Petsmart.I would never take my dog again or recommend that anyone takes their dog to any Petsmart grooming. -If your dog shakes, it’s a sign.I have since found there is plenty of groomers that have their own small business, who, through their practice, have shown to be more caring, provide a less stressful environments for dogs, and certainly do not greet your dog by putting them in a choke leash.

Petsmart is the same wherever you go. Has anything you need for your cat, dog and other small pets. I just ran in, grabbed what I needed and out again. I didn't have my dog with me though I have other times.

Kudos to Karina and Caleb (store manager) at this PetSmart location! They were super friendly and patient when my friends and I went to the store yesterday. We normally go to the one at the Rim, but needed to go to that store because they’re the closest one near us having the cute sushi costume in stock. We called the store ahead of time and the manager even said he’ll hold on to this one for us prior to our arrival. When we were in the store, they were super helpful in helping us finding us what we need. Definitely recommend this location! 😁

Amazing place! Kalina (sp) and Caleb (manager) are the best customer representatives for PetSmart. They are super courteous, patient, and overall amazing. My friend ordered some toys online to pickup in store and Caleb quickly grabbed the products for her. He even helped her when one of the toys was out of stock in store. I also thank Caleb for allowing me to quickly pickup my order too. Thank you, Kalina and Caleb, for making our experience at this PetSmart location amazing!

Pretty decent selection in store. Admittedly, there's not a WHOLE lot for tiny doggos (puppies, toy breeds) so we were better off shopping online for some niche stuff (to be expected, niche isn't easy for a broadly focused business to cater to) but they did have a lot of very cute things out for a whole variety of aesthetics!! I couldn't help but get some of the shirts for my short hair baby chihuahua, but they're so big that I'm hoping he grows into them. The cashier was suuuuper sweet, wish I remembered his name but he talked about how exciting it was to have a dog who could road trip with us, and it was really optimistic and exciting to look forward to!!

Compared to other PetSmarts, this one is clean and well organized. Prices are alot better if you can find coupons online. They do have a nice clearance section also to find good deals on treats, grooming products, and general pet maintenance. Also, be on the lookout for adorable rescues to give a forever home to.

We were very pleased with our visit (puppy enjoyed too). Staff was very friendly and informative. We were greeted by Roland (reception) who answered many questions before we met the vetinarian tech, Josh, who was great with my wife and I as well as our six month pitbull. The vetinarian was warm and cordial and very informative. The puppy (Luna) never quit wiggling with all the procedures and wanted to go to anyone that came in the treatment area. We received a good education about the problem Luna presented from each and everyI had gotten something of a "cold shoulder" from two other Vetinarian Hospitals. Quite a quandary when Luna had an obvious problem that needed treatment to help her start healing. I will not try using the two hospitals in the future.
