Yesterday was my Piggy’s first appointment and our experience exceeded expectations. We were greeted by Dez who was very friendly and helpful. Bethany was the technician that serviced us and her service was the absolute best service I have ever experienced at a PetCo. We had a small emergency that the staff at this location handled with sensitivity and care. The veterinarian on staff was very kind and genuinely cares about his furry patients. He took the time to explain everything to me and ensured I left knowing how to best care for Piggy. Thank you for your special caring attention, we will be returning for many years.

Looking for Bitter Apple biting knawing deterrent. Biggest problem was how to reach Petco. VIA cs at Stoney Station gave great directions. Inside store was pet heaven. Name it they got it. No Bitter Apple but Bitter Yuk close enough. Bought some holiday tennis balls for pet. Fabulous visit. Pleasant atmosphere and cutest pets.

UPDATE: first off, I shouldn't have been able to open any of these containers because they're supposed to be sealed.store finally smelled clean, but they're still selling dead bugs. And not just dead like they just died. They're shriveled. They have moldy fuzz on em. The food is dried out. Oh and there's only 2 instead of 4.The worms are always undercounted, for some reason they're always less worms in the containers than it says and some r dead.I get these same products from petsmart and NEVER have had issues like this. All the same products, but for some reason petco gets beyond dead bugs or they're shorting the bugs in each container. It's been months and wasted time going back. They're altering the products.Store needs to do better.1. Never any pre-bagged crickets.2. Rarely ever any hornworms. When they do have them, most of them are dead. Also don't know how to stack them properly.3. Most insects in containers will be dead. You'll most likely buy nothing but dead insects that are supposed to be alive. 98% chance all dead.4. Don't bother calling any department. Take your disappointment face to face.5. No call buttons for assistance in certain areas.

I had a grooming appointment scheduled for 9:15am at the S.E Military location. As I walked in, I noticed a young lady assisting a customer and patiently waited in line. A gentleman who saw me from the grooming windows in line; went to the back grabbed a leash and came up quickly to assist. When I mentioned I had an appt for my pup, he looked to see my pups appointment and mentioned “Oh his appointment is with Taylor, let me grab her for him”. He walked to that back after waiting a couple of minutes, I see a girl walk from the back “Taylor” with a sour face holding a leash. Sour face, as if she did not want to be there. Sure enough what I saw was basically her attitude. I did not bring his shot record with me so she stated she could not take him. I explained it was my first time booking an appointment and also explained, I live really close I could go and come back no problem. She had a rude demeanor and was not willing to work with that. As she replied “ No you’re going to have to come back at a later date”. I did mention he had his rabies tag on him and asked if that was sufficient enough. I understand there are policies but to not even budge is just mind blowing. If you won’t allow me to literally drive down the road to get his immunizations in less than 10 mins. another option could have been; to contact his vet have them fax over his vaccines or I could have called his vet; if that was an option offered to me. There could have been different solutions but just not willing to offer assistance at all and say no, with having a nasty attitude in my opinion is just not right. I won’t ever even attempt to come to Petco again. I purchase all my pets food, toys, clothing, etc. from petco we will not be returning or give another cent to be treated as we are not valued customers.

I waited in line for almost 25 minutes before mores staff came to help. I asked the cashier to use all of my awards to cover th cost of mu purchase. After receiving the total I asked did you apply all of them and I was told yes. Upon reviewing my receipt to my awards balance this was not the case. It could be an error with you system.

Ciera was great. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the African Cichlids that I bought. Ella was great at the counter, very friendly as well and engaged. They made my experience very pleasant. Kudos to those two ladies! I will be back soon. In a world of negativity and complaints, they deserve some recognition for their positive attitudes.

We asked for YEARS for Petco to locate a store in Southeast San Antonio and they have been non-stop busy since they did!Every one of the employees work here because they love animals and need a discount to take care of their own. They are BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!Unfortunately, the management is not worthy of the employees. They force employees to pass damaged merchandise and on to customers, and will make any customer wait more than 2 hours before correcting any problem a customer catches. Does Southeast San Antonio not deserve the same level of quality management as the customers of all the other Petco stores? The managers at the other stores quickly admit mistaken and correct them, even call customers to notify them before they pick up their orders. How did this store get assigned these managers?Merchandise is constantly stacked in the storeroom and so if you go in the store you may not find what you are looking for even if it is in the store. If you order online, the employees have to shift through all the stacks on the carts in the storeroom. The employees are required to carry anything, no matter how heavily, without a cart. Have some care, please, Petco!PETCO:PLEASE GIVE THIS STORE'S BEAUTIFUL EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS THE MANAGERS THEY DESERVE! And you also need twice as much space for the business you have.

10/14 updateI’m updating review since last visit.Store/cages were very clean. Animals were health. My kids enjoyed all the animals including the many reptiles added and the blue lobster. (Great job management). Employee was quick to help me get some crickets.Pet stores are where many kids first encounter a love for animals and good experiences always encourage that.One thing I think they could improve would be the possibility of having maybe a specialist (or maybe a volunteer opportunity) by small animals or reptiles already handling a pet so kids can learn and maybe pet some animals. (This positive interaction could “plant the seed” for impulse buy or their next pet)Thanks management for listening to customer feedback.—older review—I typically love coming to the pet store with my kids but it’s kind of depressing to see their whole reptile section not functioning.Some things that could change1. Frozen mice shouldn’t be in an ice block2. Grooming lines when long make it difficult to navigate through the entrance. (The barrier of merchandise doesn’t help).3. Many of the small animal cages were dirty and probably not cleaned for a few days.4. Employee working cashier lacked social skills and made me feel like I was burdening them. I always wonder if people might be dealing with things so I try to interpret them correctly. I also know the importance of making every interaction count in customer service.Not trying to see y’all lose business but I hope management will see this and help to make some positive changes so more people will have a great experience.

I came here on May 5 it was slow and the employees were real friendly. So I was looking for wound medicine for my nephew's dog and I can't remember the name of the employee that helped me find it. The check out process was quick and some if the shelves were empty due to the shipping situations that are occurring but that was expected.

Most merchandise is overpriced. And on top of this, I was appalled when I asked for a bag the cashier said it would cost me 10 cents the next time. I had bought treats at the self-serve display and spent roughly 9 dollars and some change.Personally, I was offended and thought the comment was unnecessary and out of line. PETCO should be more compassionate toward customers who even want to buy there.

I had an appointment, but the price kept increasing. When I mentioned that it was more than I was quoted yesterday, the guy said he wasn't the qouter, and didn't feel comfortable anymore, and that it was a waste of time. From what I saw, they don't do anything but buzz cuts there, and it was their male groomer .Ps original qoute was with my dog present.

This petco is the absolute best. Huge variety, and the vetco inside is top tier. Dr. Sczepanik is very passionate about what she does and has taken such good care of all my cats with basic checkups and vaccinations and any needed surgeries like spaying, neutering, and removal of a polyp in the ear. No one likes taking their fur baby to the vet, but her and all the nurses make a stressful situation into a better one. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping all my babies.

Petco charges you 10 cents for a plastic bag now during checkout if not you’re stuck carrying everything. Offer an alternative instead of charging the customer more to carry your over priced products. 0 stars for me.

This location was good until yesterday I took my dog to get groom and what I got back was horrible his hair was all uneven his tail was not groomed he has bald spots in some areas the groomer Gabriel did a extremely bad jobMy dog has been there twice and both ladies whom attended on him were so nice helpful and happy to my dog Gabriel was the total opposite I would never recommend Gabriel to anyone

Let me first start off saying Cindy in the grooming department is amazing!! If you have a poodle she is knowledgeable in the breed. I’m new to the breed and she gave me a few tips on what I should do with my specific breed. When I got our little fur baby he looked just as I described how I wanted him to look!! Cindy is the groomer you need to request she is AMAZING!! And our Gucci loves her, too!!!before and after photos!! Doesn’t look like the same dog ❤️❤️❤️

We have taken our Goldendoodle twice. The first time we had her groomed a part of her fur on her back was rough and white. I’m not sure if the clippers were dull or if the they over heated and burnt a piece of her fur. There were also pieces missed on her legs which were visibly longer than the rest of her fur. I was kind of shocked so I didn’t say anything just paid and left. The second time we took her, we delt with Rebecca who was arrogant and rude. She was assertive for no reason when explaining a process. My husband nor myself were rude as she spoke over us. Other people saw and heard and as we left, someone mentioned “I guess she’s not having a good day”. We were embarrassed. We decided to find an independent groomer. Based on both of these experiences I would not recommend Petco at the SE Military location.

We ❤ that they treat our fur babies with extra care, respect, and love.Our pups always let us know through their actions how they were treated.We met Jordan a long while back and he has been our pugs groomer/stylist since the pugs always are well groomed.I would reccomend this particular PETCO, in the CityBase shopping area.We've taken our pups to other places and we could tell they were not always handled great.Here at PETCO, all of our questions are answered and anything is discussed before hand.Our pugs (male/female), always look super fresh on completion.Because of COVID-19, all rules and regulations are in place and they will call you prior to completion so you can get there on time and not be in the store too long.I highly reccomend Jordan for your grooming needs.Hey PETCO even supported the LGBTQ community and our pugs, Jack Black and Bella the Pugs, were able to support the cause and got their SWAG ON!

If you love your pet do not take them here!! The workers are extremely stuck up and don’t care about you or your pets. I got eye rolls from the first lady trying to help me and as I was pulling out my paperwork she walked away and never came back. Complete mess and they do not know what they’re doing. I witnessed a worked slap a dog in the face after he snapped at her. That’s when I walked out. Won’t be back.

Overheard a supervisor tell a cashier right in front of us that she told a customer that her purchase was unreturnable because she "changed her story" about why she was returning it, and she didn't like that.

The associate was very helpful and knowledgeable on helping me find some good for my puppy. Also Lisa P my Romeo's groomer is nice amazing and gentle. So the Petco on SE Military have a long pvc pipe on their carts!!! Wow!!! Don’t try and walk out of the store!!! The employees start yelling at you like you’re a criminal!!!! Last time I buy from this store!!! Buyer beware!!!!
