Great chicken fried steak. Mom had the shrimp. My daughter in law had the hamburger steak. Everything was good. The waitress was superior. We loved the place.

Love the store itself but the grooming employees are amazing. My very energetic pups have been seeing Viané for over a year and she does a fantastic job. She pays attention to detail and is very patient and loving with them. I can’t recommend her enough!

Great experience here. Miles was very knowledgeable with the freshwater fish. I got my first Betta from this store. Thanks for taking the time out to explain various details for this beginner. I will be back to this location :)

Never again. The reviews about the grooming are true. I had a 12:30 appointment. My dog didn’t get started until 4pm. I know this because I walked in there and they just started her. I didn’t get her back until almost 6pm and she didn’t have all services completed that I paid for. I called and left a message that her nails were not cut and her teeth were not brushed. I left a message asking for a call back to bring her back in or refund that portion of my money. No response.I called to try to talk to a manger. I was told I would receive a call, no response. If I don’t hear back, I will dispute the transaction with my credit card company.On top of it, the stylist was aggressive with my dog. I was watching her from the window she forcefully was grabbing my dogs mouth and she had a frustrated and aggravated tone on her face. She did not realize I was watching her. All my dog was doing was moving her head. My dog sat in a grate for 4 plus hours before being touched which is unacceptable.I need a call back about my services I paid for and didn’t recieve. Otherwise I will go to my credit card company and to your corporate office about the tactics that are taking place.

I recently booked a grooming appointment for my heavily matted doodle with Madi at Petco on Dezavala. During the pre-check-in, I was upfront about my dog's behavior and noise level and matting. However, it seemed like Madi and her colleague hadn't read my notes until we arrived. They appeared frustrated and seemed to dislike their job. Madi mentioned extra charges for matting and shaving due to my dog's matting. She also mentioned she's pregnant and wasn't sure how much she could handle due to her pregnancy. My concern isn't about the price or extra charges but rather her passive-aggressive tone and interrupting me when I spoke. I went to Petco seeking assistance but felt met with unhelpful and annoyed groomers who didn’t want to help. Had they read my notes, I would have been open to rescheduling with someone else.

Me and my wife normally go to a different Petco off of 410 and San Pedro. We decided to use this facility for our grooming for our dog who we take there all the time so Petco took it upon themselves to charge us extra for a flea and shampoo bath and other services that we are not aware of or they didn’t call and ask us if it was OK to perform the services so we get there. The total is almost $30 more than what it normally is and we get told sarcastically “ Well, if it’s such a big deal then I’ll go ahead and take it all off” just straight unprofessionalism at its finest! We have taken our dog to Petco over six times and I’ve always been contacted about an extra service or anything that changes. We will never be using this facility again and I advise you to do the same!

Says closes at 8 online, was driving around for hours to get here. I go up to the doors (there’s 2 girls in line) it’s 7:15.He said “we close at 7”. I begged because I have no other options and then just said “no” and proceeded to close the door on me whilst there’s still people in the store. I already knew what I wanted. I understand you want to go home, but there’s still customers and 5 minutes of your time shouldn’t ruin my whole day.

Joey was very knowledgeable and very courteous. It was my first time there with my Zoey since she doesn't always get along with other dogs. Zoey loved getting treats from Joey. I was very impressed with her knowledge about animals.

Took my 5 month old shih tzu puppy and I have to say Christina Lee did an absolute amazing job on him. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she went above and beyond. I'm so extremely happy with his results. I definitely will be going back. She even gave me a picture of his first haircut with a lock of his hair.

I am a new dog owner, I didn't know what food would be best, how to train or even what products to bathe my dog with. Went in here one day and had such a great experience. This is now my regular store. Every associate I've encountered here has been pleasant and very informative. Love the grooming staff as well.

Miles really made a difference for my dog and I this Christmas. We saw online the store closed at 10 PM. These hours were not yet updated and the store was already closed. He spotted us at the door and called out to us as we walked away.He welcomed us in, provided exemplary service, and explained the updated hours. He allowed us to look over dog clippers we needed for the holiday and took time to explain the differences. Miles was a true angel and deserves the upmost recognition for his commitment to a customer.

Zero stars for the animal abuse. I was at the store for 2 hours and all small animals didn’t have water (all water bottles were removed). I reach an employee and still 2 hours later nobody came to provide fresh water to the animals. Cruelty and nothing else. Unacceptable!

I'm not the type to leave reviews for places.Please don't take your pup to grooming hereI will say not all of the groomers here are bad.Alexis & Viane are the good ones.I got my pup returned to me with his own urine on him. It literally looked like he was dirty. WORSE than what I dropped him off as. For the service being nearly $100 and being returned like that is ridiculous and stupid.I had to go home and wash his legs/paws again. like what was the point of the grooming appointment.Also the stylist ( for his appointment ) had an attitude because I asked if he could get rebathed. AVOID DEE AS YOUR STYLIST. IDCI just cut my losses and asked for a refund instead.Management & Viane understood and put no fight to it. I appreciated that. The store itself isn't bad. it bigger and cleaner than some of the other stores in SA but I will not be returning to grooming for my pup.

DOG TRAINING - We have been enrolled in the AKC packages for about 3 months and have loved every session. Our trainer, Joie, has a vast wealth of knowledge and experience with all types of dogs in all stages of readiness. She is patient, kind, and takes the time to not only demonstrate proper techniques but also explains why she does it that way and how it benefits the learning of our furry family members. We have learned so much, not only about training, but normal behaviors, good feeding techniques, and ways to enrich our dog's lives.If I could give more than 5 stars, Joie earns it every time. If you have the opportunity to take advantage of learning from Joie, and using Petco's great pricing packages for all levels of training and learning, I would recommend it every time.

Was going to try this location for grooming for the first time. They canceled my appointment an hour beforehand saying that their ac is broken and once the temp reaches 80+ they have to send the dogs home. I called to see if they could get me in at another location and they said all the systems are separate. I asked how often this happens so I know if I should reschedule. She said it happens a couple times a month in the summer. Disappointing start, I think I’ll go elsewhere. Hopefully the employees don’t get too hot working in those conditions, if it’s not safe for dogs, it’s not fair to employees and customers. Also I am busy, I make an appointment with an expectation it will not get cancelled, very unprofessional.

Came to purchase a male gerbil and in shock of an awful conditions animals are residing: no water bottles in their tiny cage, air vents covered in thick layer of dust, no dome to hide and animals have to sit under a bright without comfort. I’m so disappointed with this Petco and feel so sad for poor creatures.

If l could give this place 0 stars l would. I had a dog appointment for the veterinary clinic and it was closed. The general manager was hostile and juvenile and didn’t even care to direct me to the closest veterinary. All in all, this poor interaction has made Petco lose my business.

I had a very nice time taking my daughter here. She loves to look at animals especially fish. They had a pretty decent sale on the items in stock this weekend so we lucked out. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. Can't wait to get back over here.

NEVER bringing my dog here again after my experience today. My dogs appt was at 10:30am.. after 6 hours I called asking for an update because 6 hrs and no call or update is already INSANE, because why even set my appt for 10:30am if they probably didn’t even start on her until 2-3 hrs later at least cause no way it takes that long. I called & they said she was finishing up & to come for her. I showed up & started asking questions about why it took so long & the lady told me they called a man to let him know that they were taking longer than usual & that I guess he didn’t give me the message. And I said “what man?” So I asked for who they called & what #, as there should be no one else on file for my dog. They gave me a # I didn’t recognize. Then they asked me if the dog they brought out was my dog, which it wasn’t. So I started freaking out and I asked, “Is my dog here?” And no one answered me. Then I demanded to please see my dog because I need to know she’s here & wasn’t given to some random man. As they’re going to look for my dog, the lady made a comment about “if she wasn’t groomed we can reschedule you.” And I said excuse me? What do you mean if she wasn’t groomed?!. Well, she wasn’t! So they kept my dog crated for 6 hrs, confused her for someone else’s dog who they clearly groomed in place of my dogs appointment, called the wrong owner, and gave me a huge scare! Never ever again.. what a waste of my time & my poor dog having to wait in a crate all day for zero service!

They have a good variety of fish and accesories, and the staff Is very helpful, even It was 5 mim to closing they helped me as ido they just opened. Had a good experience so I will be back if I need anuthing for my pet.

Great location, great selection. Friendly and knowledgable staff. They have a vet and groomers on site. Adopted my Cleopatra from here with help from the Feral Cat Association of San Antonio which is a volunteer organization partnered with area pet shops and shelters to help provide support and opportunity for responsible and healthy adoptions, for a nominal fee, to fur baby parents like myself. Oh, and they have turtles, reptiles, birds and fish. 🙂

I’m so disappointed to see the conditions of the reef tanks at this store over the past couple of months. I started my reef tank journey at this store and now I don’t even want to buy anything from their filthy saltwater tanks. Management at this store should not have let any of the tanks get to this point. I will remove my review when the situation has been addressed.

I went to buy Hill Science Diet dry cat food. The cashiers were very helpful when I noticed the store price vs online price. They were willing to match the online price and even better matched Walmart's price.
