My poor Canelo who was only 6 months at the time got parvo. I rushed him to the clinic here at Petco and The vet and the staff took amazing care of my fur baby. They literally saved his life!

Amy has been grooming my dogs for years and I always ask what would be best, as she is the professional. I’ve never been disappointed in any of her work. The time she takes to work on my dogs is extremely appreciated, so if ever she runs slightly behind I’m understanding as I can only imagine this job isn’t always easy. Any time she finds a concern on my dogs or has a suggestion I’m all ears because she’s been doing this longer than I’ve owned my pups, and as my dogs groomer I trust her word. The first few times I took my pups they were not loving it during check in, she kindly told me they may not be used to the environment so maybe we could try another time, I took my pups out more, especially to Petco, and tried a month later and they were more than happy to go back with her and get groomed. Now any time we pull into the parking lot my dogs get happy tail happy and know exactly where we are and are super ready to jump out the car and into Amy’s care. Dogs can sense it all, so if they trust your groomer you should to. Also take into consideration that things happen and these groomers don’t go in with the mindset that they’re going to mess up a haircut or nail trim on your specific dog today. Be polite to these groomers, after all, they are doing the job that we neglect and that’s grooming and bathing our dogs. Thank you Amy for being so gentle, caring , and sweet with my pups. They have a grooming friend for life.

Not to long ago I got myself a puppy.we started to get her paws trimmed and buffed. Been there twice. Service is great. Everyone is treats you right. Pet co is where we'll go forever. Thank you Petco.

My experience today was the store felt very empty, so many things were not stocked up. I also couldn't fully determine what the membership pricing was all about. Is that something I have to pay for or just the rewards program? The cashier was slightly overwhelmed by being required to juggle multiple tasks alone which feels unfair to her. Not sure if it was just a bad day at the store or a usual experience lately as I've only been to this location a hand full of times.

Very questionable care of their ferrets. The one I bought had overgrown nails, a scab, poop stuck to his coat and nails, extreme aggression (he bit me so bad I had to go to urgent care), and ear mites. They also said they didn't have any "papers" for the ferrets, however all Marshalls ferrets in the US come with shot records and birth certificates. These were not provided to me even after asking. Something does not add up. I called to let them know their ferrets have an ear mite infestation. I plan on keeping my boy, but we have a lot of medical and behavioral issues to work through.The photo attached is the aftermath of the blood from my finger he bit incredibly hard all over him during playtime. I hope all their other ferrets dont have this serious of behavioral issues, and since they didn't provide me the paperwork, I can't even guarantee this isn't a returned ferret who's previous owner could have abused him. I have 7 other ferrets under my care, including rehomed, yet I have never dealt with this level of aggression from a ferret.I recommend against buying any ferrets from this store, and even more if you have children as if this ferret speaks to the other ferret's aggression, your child will be hurt.

I usually come here for nail buffing for my pup. I had an appointment at @4:15pm on 09/13/2022 for Daisy. However, this time, i saw that there was a new guy working in grooming. I told him to please be careful with trimming/buffing my dogs black nails. I heard my dog cry out loud 4 times before I had to intervene him from buffing the rest of her nails. My pup looked terrified and was shaking really bad. The guy bluffing her nails was also being rough with her grabbing her paw really hard and carelessly. I was truly heartbroken seeing my pup like this. After intervening, i asked him why she cried out many times. He responded with “they cry out usually when it gets close to cutting the vein”. He also stated that its normal crying out. Just went on and still paid for everything when I shouldn’t have. Something didn’t feel right. When we got home, i checked her nails. She was not bleeding at all but he did cut the tip of her quick. My dogs nails are still very very sensitive. She doesn’t want to walk anywhere and immediately withdraws her paws when i try touching and inspecting her nails. She’s been in pain since we left the store. 30 mins after me and my pup arrived home, i noticed she was still shaking and breathing fast from being scared. I have never seen her like this and usually does not cry when having her nails trimmed. I am very disappointed and will not be returning to any petco for any nail trimming/buffing. I came home crying and i am very heartbroken from seeing her face filled with terror. In the pictures you can see how far he cut her nails and the tip of the quick.

I've used Petco grooming, Vetco and obedience training. Every associate in the building is super. They all give exceptional customer service. They are all very knowledgeable in the areas . I have already recommended them to all my friends with pet dogs.

Walked in at 758 on a Friday night unaware of them closing at 8pm... manager was insanely unprofessional and literally forced me and my 12 yo son out the door at 803. I manage 20 ppl and 2 companies and understand timelines but even more so I understand customer service. Unfortunately, this lady did not. There are a number of ways this could've been handled much better. Take your business to Petsmart, that's what we did!

I had the worst experience at this store. There was no help around. I had to get the guy who was working in the grooming store to help me. He was very intelligent and knowledgeable about the products in the store. I got to the checkout and the guy checking me out charged me twice for an item. If I wouldn’t have asked he would have let me walk out and paying almost twice as much. Not happy at all.

My wife and I, plus 2 other people waiting more than 20 minutes for help today. There was someone at the register calling overhead for assistance and no one ever came out to help. My wife had to go find someone and then he had attitude because he had to put his hands in the fish tanks to grab plants we wanted. We usually love petco, but this one was HORRIBLE when it came to customer service

So many cute dog toy options and I love to let my dog come along so she can pick toys she'll actually use (she is so unbelievably picky, everything overwhelms her) and food she really likes (I put the bag on the ground and let her sniff and she will tell me which one she wants) as rewards. The customer service is excellent and I love how accessible everything in the store is!

It was okay. The selection of dog tags are normal; nothing that grabbed my attention really. The place did seem a bit crowded, but that would just mean that they have more products. I don't have anything bad to say really. A huge pro that I noticed was that the dogs really enjoyed the grooming section. The ladies there were super happy to see their customer's pets as well.

I took my dog to the vet here for awhile and was patient with the fact that I always had to wait 5-30 minutes for my appointment because the techs were nice. Then one day I was 5 minutes late. I was told I was now a walk-in and would have to wait HOURS to get a simple vaccine. Forget it, I'll go elsewhere.

The regular aquatics team member, Anais, is amazing. You can clearly tell that she loves her job, she loves interacting with people. And she always helps find anything you may need or want.Even if I don’t need anything, I bring my dogs to get a treat just because we get treated so well at this Petco.

Please read in full as this review contains an UPDATE.I recently got a new puppy, Chicky. She needed to get her vaccines and get chipped. I've been looking around for a new vet. Wanted to save some money, so I considered taking her to a mobile clinic but, I wanted to be sure her first vet visit was a positive experience, and avoid any kind of stressful situation. Took a chance and brought her to Vetco, inside the Petco store. They were wonderful with her. Gentle, with her, they explained everything to me, very thorough. Knowledgeable. Prices were reasonable. Unfortunately I don't recall the name of the vet who was there that day. I'll certainly be taking her back. As well as my other dog. Office was clean. We didn't have to wait for long. Love the fact they have late evening appointments. Perfect for us. She got all her vaccines and was chipped. Most important, it was a positive experience for Chicky.Several months ago I returned to this location with both of my dogs. I'd brought them together. Both of them had serious ear infections that I wasn't aware of. It seemed like we waited in the exam room for hours. When the vet returned she claimed she was not able to examine Simba's ears bc of aggression, and he would need to come back when he was medicated. This was despite he wasn't barking or struggling, 3 people were in the room and he was muzzled. This meant he would have to suffer with the ear infection until he could come back. After I left a poor review in one of the emails they sent, the store manager called me and honestly this is where the real problem began. She started by saying she had read Simba's medical chart and said the vet had written I'd rolled my eyes at her during the appointment. She said we should all try to remember to be kind and then went on to note the high rate of suicide among veterinarians. I'm not sure of her point but I got the definite impression she felt I'd emotionally upset the vet possibly to the point of suicide. I pointed out the concern here should be for the well being of my dogs and not for the emotional or mental health of her employees. At this point I recall I said I no longer felt comfortable receiving services at this location. Fast forward to last week. Chicky needed to be seen by a vet asap. I was unable to get her an appointment anywhere except at the San Pedro location. A few minutes later the store manager called me again and said our appointment was cancelled bc THEY DIDN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE PROVIDING HER WITH SERVICES. Both dogs are enrolled in the wellness program and I pay a monthly fee. Because Chicky required immediate help, she was seen by an emergency animal hospital at great extra expense. I feel it's obvious this location could care less about the animals that come through their clinic. Their attitude is unprofessional and over emotional. I'm astounded and sad they refused to see an injured and sick animal. There is no way possible I could recommend anyone taking their pet to the vetco clinic at the San Pedro store.

Today I went to exchange my fish tank because I thought it had a crack or deep scratch. I was not able to return because it was past the 30 days. I was a little disappointed but one of your employees Will helped me out and showed me it was not cracked. I just want to thank Will it was 10 am on Saturday and he was very polite professional and even though I wasn’t able to return he showed my tank was not cracked. Thank you also for getting my order ready.
