Forgive me for not recalling the person's, name but he is very kind with both animals and people! He is attentive and gentle with our doggie, Blackjack. Solid haircut all around and no nicks, which makes Blackjack extra happy!

we have been using Petco and never had a problem cannot speak otherwise for this Stone Oak location is trash. I’ve had nothing but issues. They refused to take my dog because he had splinters that wasn’t even bad at all the manager Nicole would not give me anything in writing stating that they refused service to us. I highly recommend to go somewhere else. They are very unprofessional. Also, if you try to take your dog to get groomed even five minutes early, they will not accept them and make you wait groomers are always late please save your self time go to any other place but them…

So so happy with the employees at this location. I went into the store trying to figure out how I was going to transport 3 dogs in a 3 day road trip. And not only did they take the time To hear my full situation.They were googling sizes of u hauls and the size of my car talking to me about personalities. And temperament of my dogs and the best way. To do this road trip. They even brought out a kennel to my car to see how it might fit truly amazing. I have never received such customer service before.

For the most part, I like this store. My mom said she saw a few dead fish one time, but I'll discard that because I never have. My main issue is with Ferrets. I love Ferrets, I have 7 of them, but I feel like the staffs approach to selling Ferrets will deter them from getting homes.When I asked if I could see the ferrets, the first staff member responded said no, they don't take them out because they don't want them getting a cold. I was confused, how is anyone going to buy a Ferret without interacting with them first? I walk away confused, nobody buys a animal without interacting with it first. I walk back and then ask if they are for sale, she says yes they are, and calls a handler over to me.The handler made it clear I can't touch the ferrets unless I want to buy one, and i made it clear I'm not going to buy a ferret unless I interact with it. We settled on I wash my hands in the back and use hand sanitizer.I get y'all care about Ferrets, but do keep in mind, you are not providing a life to the Ferrets they need, a small glass cage with no toys for 3 Ferrets is not healthy for them, and the longer you keep them in the store, the more bonded they become, meaning the more emotional issues they have when they are sold separated. So, when someone is interested in your ferrets, you need to find a better middle ground other than "you can scan the QR code to learn more about them". I was honestly about to walk away after the first interaction, I felt like it would be impossible to figure out which Ferret I would want should I not even be able to interact with them. You can be protective of your animals, but also realize, too protective and you'll never sell them, and you are not giving them a near ideal life.I've had other interacts at this store with other staff that do make up for this interaction, so I won't weigh it too heavily, but seriously, you need to find a better middle ground where you can protect your animals without discouraging potential buyers.Photo is of the baby boy I bought.

Nine is AMAZING! She knows her stuff! My furbaby always looks so handsome after getting groomed by Nine. She's very detailed in her work and my dog seems very comfortable with her. Nine greets us with a friendly smile every time and makes sure she understands all of my doggo's grooming needs. 10 out of 10 always recommend!

DON’t GO WITH ALEXIS ,281!As soon as I walked in, when I already had an appointment and requested VIP, she had the worst attitude. I came with her because they recommended her to me!She was not even welcoming and although I made her aware that my dog had stopped bleeding being 2 days ago, SHE STILL gave me an attitude that due to “policy” they don't accept dogs on heat when my dog was not even bleeding anymore. She went on and on with her “policy” even though I just made her aware that she was previously bleeding but that she was not bleeding anymore!The person that recommend me to her, has ALWAYS taken her dog with Alexis and she always accepted her dog even if she was on heat. I referenced this to her but she denied it and said “oh no that was because she was not bleeding”. So “her policy” didn’t even corroborate with her whole argument!!THIS WAS MY FIRST AND LAST TIME THAT I GO , NO WONDER SHE DOESN’T HAVE THE MOBILE GROOMING ANYMORE SINCE SHE DOES NOT SEEM LIKE AN EXPERT.I went to petco because my previous mobile grooming service was not available. However, I would rather take my money elsewhere with grooming experts that know their full policy CLEARLY and treat new clients with respect.

Great little place if you were looking for a cute little puppy. Sadly, it's well hidden because of all the construction. The problem is that there are not enough discounted items to make the search for the entrance worthwhile, then again, there's not enough traffic to afford to give discounts. It comes down to "How does a business survive with so much for progress!!" 😠😟

Luis the manager helped me at the register with placing an order for a product that every time I go in, they’re out of. He was so gracious and took the time to check the online supply and to see if the store sale would apply. He placed the order for me and went above and beyond to make sure I was able to get what had wanted to buy. I’m in customer service, and am often disappointed with how I’m treated by others in the service industry. This gentleman was a breath of fresh air, he made my day.

As a new fish enthusiasts, I must warn you to please stay clear of the Stone Oak, San Antonio Petco. I recently purchased a high dollar powered aquarium filter which suddenly stopped working after less that two months . I attempted to return the unit in-person but was declined due to the stores system not being able to find my purchase "IN THE SYSTEM" even with my PETCO ID" which I used" number. I was personally told by instore leadership this I was out of luck and my only chance was to call the "PETCO" corporate customer service number to see if they could look up my receipt via CC number and email to me. I immediately did, after a extensive wait, I recached a representee who was obviously then conferenced me in with store leadership. Store leadership on the conference call said "Oh yes, I'm the one who talked to you at the counter" and said " their is nothing we can do for your without the receipt". I replied with" i guess I'm SOL, Huh". After a pause he said "Yes Sir" Please do not be a fool like me and stick to a local pet store who cares about your loyalty, service, and the heath of your pets. I fell local pet store will understand the your pets and extended family. I now understand i should drive the extra milage and go to Polly's Pet shop in San Antonio, TX.

Very good service. Alex has always done a great job with the deshred. This time she wasn't there when I took our dog. I met Nine, and she also did an excellent job too with the deshedding. I always had a good experience with the groomers at the Stone Oak location.

Nice clean store. Staff was respectful and greeted as soon as we arrived. Staff offered assistance when looking for items. Animals are always a joy to see in the store. A lot of options for doggies and kitties.

Very wonderful service at the cash register. However the one product i came in to buy was in the shelf expired for several weeks. Last time I was in the store for this item it was also expired.

Dr. Coombs was AMAZING. My dog is an older and I don’t want to put him through a lot. She gave us her honest opinion and made a treatment plan that was tailored towards comfort. I was so terrified that I would be judged for not wanting aggressive treatment and I was met with the opposite. The staff was great and everyone was smiling and welcoming.

The Latin short girl at the front desk of the grooming department was rude and incompetent. She needs to be better trained or made to work in the back of the house. She doesn’t understand customer service. She’s an embarrassment to Petco.

This Petco has been able to stock my 29 gallon aquarium with glofish slowly but steadily. I'm new to keeping fish and everytime I go to this Petco, I get a helpful lesson from the staff. They are all very friendly and nice; especially Brooke and Lauren. They are so awesome! I know I will be returning in a couple of weeks for more glofish.

"I recently had a great clinic visit at Vetco Pet Clinic inside Petco. The staff provided amazing care for my dog, offering great information regarding pet care and even giving me some much-needed emotional support. I was particularly impressed with their flexibility in scheduling appointments, which made it convenient for me to find a time that worked best for my busy schedule. Alex did such a wonderful job grooming my chiweenie, Paloma. It was her first grooming service ever, and she did a wonderful job calming my puppies nerves. She even gave Paloma a cute tie that matched her leash. I can’t wait to take her back to see Alex again!

Cats for adoption! Rats, mice, hamsters, Guinea pigs, reptilian types and FERRETS! also some birds and fish... some of the cages needed to be tended to, but this is a pretty neat and tidy store. Staff seems friendly.

I took our dog for grooming. TAMMIE DID A HORRIBLE HOB, WORST GROMER EVER. We had just asked her to just trim her hair but she SHAVED ALL HER HAIR OFF, there was CUTS AND BLOOD on her skin. I had to take our dog to the vet because of this.We called to complain, I was angry for obvious reasons and RAIN the manager stated yelling at us and she hung up the phone. I can’t believe they put her as a manager because a manager does not do what RAIN did, I am surprised because of her reaction instead of trying to fix the problem.

Alexis is a rockstar, and after today’s eye opening experience, the only groomer to groom my dogs. She used to do the Mobile Grooming but stopped for whatever reason. Anyways, whoever the gentleman was today…thanks but no thanks.

We bought my daughter a hamster here today and had a great experience. Selynda was very knowledgable and helped us through the entire process. She answered all of our questions, gave us advice on what we needed and what to avoid, and she made the whole thing very easy and reassuring. Thanks for your help Selynda!

Went to the vaccination clinic on a Saturday. Made an appointment online but it was not showing up in their system, but they took our dog regardless and were very friendly, helpful, and efficient. We will be back 😊
