I have been taking my four cats to this Vetco Total Care Clinic/Hospital for 3+ years. Dr. Peters is a wonderful veterinarian and all vet tech staff, especially Alexa, have treated my furry family members with the best care and compassion. Scheduling appointments is easy, and I have never had an issue of waiting for over an hour to be seen with a scheduled appointment time. The Petco Vital Care Membership is worth every penny and is a great thing to have especially when you have more than 2 pets, lots of great savings, benefits, discounts, and rewards! I have never had any issue with communication with this office or staff- they follow up, email, fax, and manage records with the great organization and professionalism. Love this location

We saw Jordan at the groomers and he was so kind and professional. My only complaint is that my dog is cut so choppy… her face looks almost incomplete. We normally get the teddy bear cut to her face and out of the 15+ times we’ve been there, this is not it. Robert was our go to for groomers and he did so well before but he has now left. The picture with her toy was the before and the picture of her on the couch was after the cut.

Petco at Bandera and 1604 has very attentive staff, specifically, Matthew Gill! He was real busy earlier, but took time out to stop and help me figure out what kind of relaxing pills I could use on my anxious Shih Tzu. I appreciated the knowledge and time he gave me. Also his manager Virginia was attentive to checking me out quickly when the line backed up. Definitely heading to that location in the future!

My daughter’s stuffed turtle had went missing and it took us a full week to recall that his last appearance was at this store. We called thinking they wouldn’t have seen it but by surprise they held onto him for 7 days! You don’t understand how much it means to us, thank you for saving Turtle! :)

If I could give 0 stars I would. DO NOT let your dog be groomed by Suyiria, or whatever her name is. My puppy just had her nails cut, she was obviously not comfortable the whole time, was letting her hang by the leash on the stand and throwing my dog around. She proceeded to come out and ask if I saw everything, which I did, and I said she is a puppy, she asked how old she is, I said she just turned one and that was her first time getting her nails like that done, then told me that she was no longer a puppy anymore, and that shouldn’t have happened. I was not pleased with her service, SHE SHOULD NOT BE WORKING WITH DOGS IF SHE CANNOT BE PATIENT WITH THEM. I spoke with an employee in PetCo and she said this was not the first complaint about her. PETCO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS AWFUL GROOMER.

Best place to acquire all of your pet paraphernalia. I come in for the cute dog toys. Staff was also super friendly and welcoming. Plus there’s a really good looking guy at the cashier. Might ask for his number.

If I could give a zero, I would!! I took my puppy for grooming, I literally showed her (Carmen) a picture of how I want him to be trimmed down NOT shaved!! And we spent quite a bit of time explaining and talking about it! When I saw him all I could do is cry!! She shaved him completely down, and even the shaving is not even all over! His name is Fluffy, honestly we didn’t even recognize him!! If it’s your first time, take my comment serious if you love your puppy!I’m adding before and after so you can judge!

Vetco, claims to be full animal care hospital service that takes appointments & walk-ins. Well this is entirely inaccurate and opposite of what was offered!First, the hours online are incorrect, they refused to see us as walk-in customer.The employee stated that they would not see us because they were overbooked and under-staffed.They showed ZERO interest in helping my furry friend. Needless to say we will no longer do business with Petco, Thrive, or Vetco!This is Ozzy, he is a Persian cat, yes he walks on four legs and he isn’t human but he is FAMILY!Petco was included because it allows this business motto to exist thus making you guilty by association! Neither of your businesses would exist without pet parents like us that care and love our pets!

HORRIBLE GROOMING! TAKE EVERYONES 1 STAR REVIEWS SERIOUS. I have never left a review before, but felt this experience is worthy of my first. We have a beautiful Goldendoodle and basically jasked for a trim & bath and got this cut. The staff are so lazy that they give every dog the same cut regardless what you ask for (see the photos everyone has left) This is my second time taking my dog to a Petco groomers (a new location) and they have proved my point. Petco cannot groom. horrible!!! Never will I go to a Petco for a grooming service again.A rushed service, they do the fastest most convenient thing for them which is CUT ALL THE HAIR OFF.

I enjoy visiting and purchasing items from the Petco on Bandera and 1604. I normally place the order online and either use the curbside pickup or locker pickup option. I have had great customer service with both and plan to continue to make my purchases in these ways.

I've been to this location several different times before. A couple of different times to buy Hill Science Diet dry cat food. They were good about giving the lowest price (store price vs online).Today, we stopped by to refill the bucket with cat litter. I like that much better to reuse the bucket instead of creating additional waste.For a $10 or more donation, you would get a free tote.The staff has always been very helpful here.

You guys do not give this store your money. I went here and it was dirty and not well taken care of. I went to the fish section to buy my female betta a buddy and get a larger aquarium and I found a dead DECOMPOSED fish and one that literally had no energy and could barely swim. When I brought it up to the attention of one of the managers they said, "we don't take care of the fish". What kind of place sells pets and doesn't bother to take care of them?! That is cruel! We come here because WE love to take care of our pets and buy their essentials here. I will never go back to this location. The pictures attached are of the betta fish and the one that could barely swim. I was so upset about the decomposed betta I didn't think to take a picture of it until the manager was gone 💔

This is the only cat food I buy for my cat because it has no fish in it. The only problem is there is no chicken pate in the larger can only small ones. There used to be but now they only make them in small cans. Obviously. This ends up being way too costly so I just don't buy it at all.

Today was a monumental day. We brought our four and a half year old red-eared slider to Petco for the first time ever. We were able to pick up her favorite foods and even try on harness to see if we could find one that would work so she could actually go on walks. I know it's a crazy concept. But if they make leashes for lizards, there should be one for turtles. Unfortunately we did not find a turtle harness so we tried on an extra small dog harness to see if it might work. The turtle was not happy and it did not go as expected. So we will have to wait on getting her a harness. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. We even picked her up two feeder fish. It's always fun coming to Petco to see the animals that they have and all the wonderful supplies that they have for them.

The staff at the Bandera store have been helpful and pleasant to deal with every time I've been there. My elderly cat isn't eating well, and turns his nose up to the prescription cat food I got from the vet. I went to Petco yesterday looking for food that he might find more palatable. The girl I worked with took several minutes to ask questions and make recommendations. She also told me about their return policy if my cat doesn't like the food. I really appreciated her efforts!

I would give 0 stars, but unfortunately have to give at least 1 for my review. I have been taking my boys to Petco because I decided to buy vital care (which I have now seen is a complete waste of money). Every time I’ve gone I’ve had rude and grumpy employees. I kept going back either way since it was convenient, but today I went in and a groomer named Carla tried telling me I was late when I got there on time, but I’m educated enough to wait in line like the rest of the people. According to her I wasn’t there, which was a lie. She then proceeded to tell me she wouldn’t be able to do a schnauzer cut after touching my dogs hair for a second because it’s so tiring to bend over long enough to do her job. So, my dog now is fully shaved. I get being frustrated with your job, but if you hate it.. quit. Simple. I never write a review or speak to managers, but here I am..Spoke to a manager that apologized and said something would be done to correct my issue and NOTHING was done. It makes sense that employees don’t care at this location. Poor management. I will definitely not take my dogs there again nor will I waste my money on vital care anymore.

What an amazing experience!! I left my baby in great hands and she looks beautiful! When I walked in for my grooming appointment, the groomer sat with my fur baby and asked me what length I wanted and any extras. She was even able to paint her nails. All of Petco's staff was friendly and knowledgeable. If you're looking for a groomer that cares and has patience, then look no more. I gave the store 4 stars, because the cost was much higher than other places. However, because of their excellent customer services, I will continue to go there.

The scheduling of my pets for grooming services was fast and pleasant. I went in at the appointed time and they took my fur babies right away. Everyone was very nice and friendly. The groomer, Penelope, did a great job on Graham and Zoey. I will definitely be back as this was my first time with PETCO.
