I recently had the misfortune of visiting this Clinic, and I can confidently say that it was the worst experience I have ever had with any animal care facility. This clinic showed a complete lack of compassion, professionalism, and basic understanding of the needs of both pets and their owners.From the moment I stepped into the clinic, I could tell that the staff had no interest in providing quality care. The receptionist barely acknowledged my presence and seemed more concerned with her personal phone conversation than attending to clients. It was evident that customer service was not a priority for them.As I waited for what felt like an eternity, I observed the neglectful treatment of the animals in the clinic.When it was finally my turn to see the veterinarian, I was met with an individual who seemed disinterested and lacked any genuine concern for my pet.To add insult to injury, the clinic's facilities were in a deplorable state. The lobby was dirty, with a strong smell of disinfectant that only masked the underlying filth.As I left the clinic, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of disappointment and anger. It is truly disheartening to see a place that claims to care for animals demonstrate such apathy towards their well-being. This Clinic is a prime example of how not to run an animal care facility.I strongly advise pet owners to steer clear of this establishment. There are countless other clinics that genuinely care about the animals they treat and provide compassionate and professional care. Don't waste your time, money, or most importantly, your beloved pet's well-being at the Heartless Pet Clinic. They are simply not worth it.

After paying $250. for a stray female cat to be spayed, I was happy to find Pet Shotz in 2014. Their reasonable prices made it possible to treat my dog and cats. In addition, their prices made it possible for me to rescue and care for over 2 dozen cats in 10 years. Some people may have experienced a problem but I have not.I read the negative reviews about wait times and staff and think that people have unrealistic expectations. This clinic is like a public health clinic for people, no frills, sometimes crowded with long wait times and staff is efficient considering the crowd and peoples attitudes. People have different personalities but I have never felt that staff did not care or that they were rude. I have never found any of their rules and operations unreasonable.During the pandemic they were at a different location with lots of outdoor waiting space and they went to great lengths to provide a comfortable outdoor waiting area with picnic tables & benches and large umbrellas for shade.Customers may not meet with the vet but interact with one of the vet techs on receiving and returning an animal and they are the ones that give aftercare instructions.The most ridiculous thing I read here is people complaining that their animal came back from a spay or neuter "half shaved with iodine all over" them. This is common even in surgery on people!! Shaving is to be expected to prevent hair getting in an incision and make the skin clearly visible for incision AND iodine is an antiseptic, both of which you want and can expect to see.I have never smelled pee in 10 years and have seen pet accidents cleaned up by pet owners and by staff as soon as practically possible.

The clinic is super busy as they provide so many important service to our community (at reduced cost). If you are looking for "drive through" service, this may not be your place, but if you have time, this clinic is knowledgeable, staff is professional and our pets have always been treated accurately and treated well! What a great addition to my neighborhood! Thank you to the staff of PetShotz!

For being a first time mother of a cat that I saved from our neighborhood dogs. I nurtured the baby kitten and I was told my kitten was a female. So we were raising her as a female and all of sudden we would hear crying at different times of the day/night. So we believed that a male cat was trying to mate with our female cat. We didn’t want her to have cats. So we made an appointment with Pet Shotz and they were ok to take her in and get her spayed and get check to see if she was pregnant. Then after a while they took her back and my Niece was told that she was pregnant on her first trimester. And they went from $149 to $379 because they had to abort the babies or something like that. Finally they started the surgery to get spayed and they call us to tell us our cat was not a female that it was a male and they performed the surgery anyway but didn’t call us to ask us if we still wanted our cat to get spayed. Which we wouldn’t have had him spayed . But they said my niece had filled out the paperwork and gave them permission to do it. They never ever perform did a pregnancy exam or anything to prove that they knew that our cat was pregnant. So they reimbursed us that money but out cat was still spayed even though he was a male. They took his manhood away.

This is unacceptable.Horrible customer service by front desk . Not by vets. Vets are fine .Sent her home very dirty .Additional pricing without being informed.When you call the phone you're on hold for about 30 min to ask questions. They don't let you know about the additional charges that may come , about the need of shot records , the need of blood work . They add additional charges at the register after they've taken the dog to the back . Waited 2 hours before being called .Do not recommend.

This place is ridiculous from the beginning of the visit the front desk receptionist has no clue of prices or if what's going on. She tells you one thing then someone else tells you something totally different. And we are told that there is going to be a pregnancy exam on the cat and then management is telling us that there is no such thing. Not only are they list but they have very poor customer service. They do not know how to talk to the customers politely they are rude as hell. We walked in thinking we had a girl cast come to find out it's a boy cat but when they found out it was a boy they didn't bother contacting us to see if we still wanted to have him fixed. They did the surgery still and then try to figure out how to justify doing it without contacting us and they all come together to try to figure out a price. Never again will I bring our cat. Good luck if you take your pets there I hope your pockets are deep.

My two male cats went in for their follow up and suture removal. They did clean their balls as there was iodine stain, but felt like it was a rush appointment (mind you we had appointment for 1pm and left at 6pm). My one male cat is having a hard time recovering, his balls are crusty and if it makes sense to you crispy (this is going on the 3rd week since surgery and they are in their damn cones). On top of that, that same male cat has a little hole in his balls and they are a tad bit bloody. So we have to spend even extra money to go to our vet because of course we don’t want to come here to get some sort of attitude when obviously we are scared and we’re not vets to fix it ourselves.The staff is a mixture of feelings, the lady at the front is either kind or annoyed. The main gentlemen that hands you your pet from the back room is the same way, but much more annoyed like why are you bothering me.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE BECAUSE IT SEEMS THEY OVER BOOKED AND THEY GIVE YOU ATTITUDE AND YOUR PETS PAY THE PRICE

Pet Shotz is a wonderful place to bring your pets! The whole staff was friendly and professional. They treated my baby when he had Parvo. The care and attention was outstanding and all medications needed were provided with detail instructions! Because of them, my baby Ollie is alive and thriving. The team here at Pet Shotz is fantastic. I brought my puppy in for treatment for parvo. They treated her and sent us home with supplements to help my pup survive and she did. They have the best prices in town and Dr. Rodger’s is amazing! Sonia and I thank you!

This has been the best veterinarian clinic I have EVER been to in my life. To start, the receptionists are super nice and informant. Bree, one of the receptionists I spoke with was extremely helpful and very beautiful, not that that matters at all, but I think it was inside and out..To move along, I have been to MANY different vets around the country and in the San Antonio area and this one hands down beat them all out…. My regular vet was booked up; I was worried and came here bc they were the only ones open immediately for walkins .And I was so extremely pleasantly surprised!!! It’s also about half the price I’ve been paying at my other vets..Dr Rogers went above and BEYOND explaining things NO VET ever told me and I felt like we should know!! Bc let’s be honest, our pets are our babies or at least our family members and they deserve the best care.. Not like they can speak for theirselves.. so the vet actually CARING and helping to explain what we may not have understood is very important/helpful..We’re not supposed to be rushed in and out and NOT even told important things regarding their little health!!!!!We come in to take care of our babies, not to be rushed in and out like a for-profit corporation or pill mill that doesn’t have time for our concerns or our littles!!!!! (Which is what ALOT of vets and Drs do to us all… sad). I’d you need a good vet.. who cares… don’t wait, come here.. seriously… 🐱 🐶 🐈 🐩 💓 💗 🤗

I want to thank all the staff at Pet Shotz for taking care of my stray kittyIf it wasn’t for the blood work they ran and x rays I would have never known she had a Upper respiratory infection or BB gun bullets in her bodyThe gentleman that I believe is a vet tech, is very knowledgeable and helpful when explaining the after care for your pets will answer all of your questionsThey get multiple animals daily, so be patient while their taking care of your pet and go around the corner to get something to eat while you wait. Your pets are in good hands!!

I wish I could give this place a negative 1000, this is the worst , most unprofessional place ever. Me and my boyfriend took in my puppy to get spayed. She was needing to get fixed and were desperate to get her in anyone since every other vet was full. We showed up and they originally messaged us to show up at 9:00am for the “appointment”we got there at 8:45 and I went to the front desk lady to ask to check my dog in and she said “did you see the papers outside” mind you, this was our first time here so we were genuinely confused. I went back outside and filled out the papers. I went back inside to give the papers and then the front lady proceeded to tell us to wait till they call her back. We waited about an hour and a half until I went inside to ask if they called her name , since there was no room in the place and it smelled awful in there. Then they finally called my dog back and told us we’ll get a call or text when she’s done. We waited , and then got the text about 3 hours later that her procedure was complete. We drove there and went right to the front desk and told them we were ready to pick her up, and then we waited about 10 more minutes until they finally brought her out. When we first saw our dog I was disgusted. She was just thrown at us and was covered in her own puke and smelled like fish , literally the worst smell ever. We asked the front desk lady (who was rude the whole experience) and tech if we could have something to clean her with , both of them ignored us and didn’t help at all, plus there was no towels in the restroom so we had nothing to clean her . This kind lady had napkins on her and gave them to us to help clean her, the nice lady also helped clean our dog , which the workers should’ve done. She also had blood on her front leg , it would make sense if it was near her suture. I am absolutely disgusted with this place and I recommend no one to come here if you are looking to get your pet spayed/neutered. Please read the reviews before you bring your pet here because there are a lot of bad ones !

**Save your time and wallet**The wait was terribly long even though I was at the clinic before opening. My dog didn’t end up getting spayed but I was still charged more than what I was originally quoted. They didn’t ask for permission to perform extra services on my pet then expected payment for services I never agreed to. When I confronted the employee about this oversight, she was completely indifferent and couldn’t explain the extra charges or why I wasn’t contacted.To add insult to injury they quoted me two payments of $500 for even more additional treatments for my dog.I contacted my regular vet who quoted me $200 for the same treatment. My vet also quoted me $60 for the same thing I got at Pet Shotz for $90.Learn from my mistake and avoid this place like the plague. $500+ for services I can get at another vet for $200 is ridiculous and it’s sad they swindle people like this.

I can not afford 600.00 for my pets to be fixed. So 129.00 is great I’m grateful. If the place happens to smell it is a small room full of animals with carriers that smell. Plan to wait for check in and plan to wait for pick up. Please don’t verbally beat the receptionist up. I saw several people upset with her for having to wait to check in. Research care for your pet on YouTube after he or she gets home. Yes customer service can be worked on, but watch before you review negative…… there are a lot of pets that they accept or you’d be on a long waitlist. Not everything is red carpet. Focus on your pet. It is a good clinic.

Really terrible. Staff was horribly unorganized, had to wait two hours after appointment time just for them to xerox an intake form. Did a terrible job with my dogs teeth, and pulled more than necessary, and then couldn’t even tell me for sure how many they pulled when charging me extra for it. They also chipped a tooth. Never again, and on top of that it ended up costing more than the quote I got from my real vet. Sometimes trying to save money is a big mistake, and I’ll never make this one again. If you like your pet, avoid at all costs.

When you are coming, don't go to the front of the clinic! When you see the Rub a Dub car wash, take a right and then a quick left past the wooden fence where there is a parking lot. That's where you are gonna want to check in for your appointments! It's on Dewberry St. It will be down a dead end street. The staff is really sweet and they're really good about getting your pet in quickly.

10/10 hands down one of my favourite vets I’ve ever been to & one that I’ll be returning to in the future now. They’re so nice & real with you. They don’t lie like other vets they tell you what’s really happening and take walk-ins and have good prices & are really helpful and patient will listen to you and explain everything that they’re doing with your babies throughly and efficiently.

I took my dog named puppy to this clinic for a spay, and it turned out she was pregnant,They called me later that night, and informed me gently and kindly that she was pregnant, and I would need to pay an additional fee of 100$. I understood and complied with this fee when I picked her up, I paid the hundred dollars. Sadly, I had to decline options for antibiotics and steroid shot Due to my lack of financial security.The next morning, I looked at my dog puppies, surgery, incision, and was concerned With the look of it.I called the clinic, and the receptionist answered the phone and told me they would get me to a technician and the technician Saying that I needed reassurance and be guided better and Better, and let me to speak with Dr. Rodger’, Dr. Rogers sympathize with my concerns and financial problem and offered a discount for antibiotics so I can be confident in puppies healing.I'm grateful for the sympathy that's was shown for me because they didn't have to carenthay I was broke and scared for the healing of me Puppy BUT Dr. Rogers chose to sympathize And help me out when I was in need.Thank you for your team I hope people see the good that y'all are doing God in heaven sees the chooses you made to be sympathetic to me and others and you will be bless in Jesus name!

The receptionist and vet tech told me that THERE IS NO WAY TO AVOID LONG WAITS, that’s just how they do it there.Really, really long wait times. They told me to arrive at noon, and I was on time. I took my cat for a spay and waited over two hours before they took her in. When they called me a few hours later to pick her up, I went to the office immediately and still had to wait 90 minutes for them to give her back to me.The waiting area is very small and chaotic, and since they do not honor appointment times, dogs and cats are showing up all at once in a cramped space. My cat was returned to me catatonic, with half of its body shaved and covered in iodine. They seem to prioritize quantity over quality. Take your pet somewhere else.

Staff was super friendly with me & I felt welcome. They took care of my two babies in a timely & professional manner. It was the best price for getting their first shots, chips, spay & neuter. They provided meds & e~collar. After care instructions were direct & to the point. I’m extremely happy with the service. My pups are recovering with no problems. Plan on going back soon to get their stitches removed. Plan on taking my 3rd pup afterwards for his second shots & nails. You made a very happy customer ☺️💕

WARNING!!! BEWARE!! HORRIFIC!! ⛔️⚠️This is how they left my cat after 10 HOURS under their care. The staff is extremely unprofessional, dismissive & all they care about is booking as many pets as possible. $$$$$It was $140 for my cat to get neutered & they LEFT HIM LIKE THIS. They glued him, left blood & iodine all over him. 🤢He got really sick after drooling profusely & extremely lethargic. I took him immediately back to PetShotz & they said it’s not their problem pay more to get blood work. The next day he was doing worst & I had to rush him to another emergency vet clinic. They said he was left in life threatening conditions. He had to be medicated to recover. ⛔️⛔️⛔️⛔️⛔️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️PLEASE don’t come here,,,,, I regret it & want to protect all pets. 😞♥️

The purpose of this communication is to express some concerns regarding my recent visit at Pet Shots. During the visit, my dog, a pug, was seen as a new patient and also for a follow-up visit. While the latter went okay, it was somewhat different from what I am accustomed to.Specifically, the veterinary technician came out to collect my pet and took them to the back without providing me with the opportunity to talk face-to-face with the vet about what was going on with my pet. Additionally, I was charged pet shots twice in one day, with a charge for the visit before the pet goes to the back, and then again if there are meds and shots given.After the visit, I received a copy of the vet's findings, which I then sent to my insurance provider. However, my insurance company rejected the paperwork, stating that it was unreadable. I returned to Pet Shots to inform them of the situation and requested a printout. The staff informed me that it would cost $20 or $25 and take 30 days to obtain.I then requested to speak with the doctor, as I did not believe that I should have to pay for his handwriting error. I was surprised to find that he had handwritten his notes, as doctors typically use electronic means to record their notes. Furthermore, I found the facilities to be too small for the number of animals that they see on Saturdays.Overall, while I appreciate the service that Pet Shots provides, I have some concerns about the quality of care, the charging practices, and the record-keeping procedures. I hope that this feedback will be taken into account and that appropriate measures will be taken to address these issues.

If Zero stars were possible I'd leave it. Worst people, worse clinic ever. Filthy office, incompetent staff. Brought my cat in to be spayed all went well. They said she had a infection that she literally Never showed signs for. We declined the treatment several times and got her into our regular vet. stitch has discharge since we got her home and when we took her in to get the stitch removed they took her back then proceeded to charge us a "recheck" fee that was NEVER disclosed to us on neither appointment. Then said we won't get our cat back until we paid that fee essentially holding her hostage which is actually illegal. This is not a low cost clinic. This is a scam clinic that will not communicate ANYTHING with their clients. They don't care about your pet. They care about getting as much money as they can. Don't bring your pet here.

Walk-ins are accepted but prepare for a long line. Used their services for neutering service. Facility is small but accommodating. Only issue is, they don't accept vaccination record unless done by a recognized veterinary place. Had to leave dog overnight, so don't expect a quick turnaround. It's a low cost vet service funded / backed by ACS

Would give 0 stars if I could. I dropped my cat off to be spayed the day before like they askyou too and it took them over an hour to take my cat. Because of that I was stuck in the waiting room that smelled like urine for over an hour with my small children. The next day they didn’t call until 6pm and told us if we didn’t pick our cat up in the next 45 minutes we’d be charged for the night. We had called earlier to see when our cat would be ready and we were told we would be called. 45 minutes is not enough time especially at dinner time. This place is incredibly poorly run and I would never return!

Great service and affordable prices. I've been coming here for years since I have 7 dogs. Sometimes the wait is long but it's well worth it because of the savings. I highly recommend taking your pets here. The staff is also friendly and courteous.

Absolutely the worst customer service ever. I was in disbelief with the way the ladies at the front desk handled customers. I partly blame myself for not reading reviews before I went. Looking now at how other people are complaining about the ladies at the front desk I’m wondering why this company is still employing them? There is definitely a problem here. There are cameras everywhere, aren’t the owners of this establishment looking at videos to see what is going on? I will never recommend this place to anyone.. if anything I will continue to tell everyone I come across that has a pet to make sure to never come here. Worst experience of my life!

Be prepared to wait an excessively long time to drop off (I waited 2 hrs and was the 3rd person to arrive) and pick up your pet (I waited another 30 min after they called to tell me my pet was ready). The receptionist has no customer service skills and didn't take the time to explain anything to me, just "sign here and initial there." My pet still had a bunch of blood all over her from the surgery. Planning on taking her somewhere else for her post-op appointment.
